How many miles are in One city block in Colorado?|186254

I live in Pueblo Colorado and i walked from ParkView Hospital to the public Bus station, which is 17 blocks total. I just want to know How many Miles is it if any?

  • Usually, each city block is 1/10 of a mile. So, you probably walked 1.7 miles. This doesn_t always hold true, but for a true city grid-style layout, it should be close.
  • How much should I charge to drive to a contract job that is 8hrs one way.?|112916

I work part-time as a pyrotech(set off fireworks) and I normally am paid about $100 to do a local show(less than 30m commute). What should I charge for driving to a show that is 8hr one way. Keep in mind the company is giving me a rental car and putting me in a hotel one night. Thanks for your help!

  • I think this will depend on how you do your billing. You will have decide how much compensation you need to have to spend that many hours for this job. Look at your total pay and see if it is worth it.
  • What monthly price it will take to live in big cities of USA like New york?|111849

I am leaving my country india and i want to take a good shelter in new york. So I want to know what is the monthly price of living in the house of this area.

  • 2 thousand dollars for a bad house. Not including water, air, heat, trash, groceries, transportation, toll roads, eatting out, taxes.

Move to a smaller large town..NY is not the nicest place... unless your just visiting. I would pick Dallas, Austin, Wichita, San Jose, Little Rock, areas like that.

  • depends on the area, if you are single then you may find a studio apt for around

1,000 a month to rent an apt (need 3-4 months as deposit)
    76 public transporation a month
400-600 in food depending on your habits
    then theres extras like
    80 cell phone
    100 light _ gas
    to name a few expenses!

there are other options if you dont mind sharing a room, on craiglist website you can find affordable furnished rooms for rent between 150-200 a week which some include internet, phone, light _ gas. you will just share kitchen and bathroom.
  • Is there a Septa bus that goes from the King Of Prussia Mall to somewhere around 30th Street Station in Philly?|102299

I know 2 routes that pick up at 30th street station and take you to the mall, but the same ones don_t stop there when being picked up at the mall. Are there any other routes I could take?

  • You can catch the 125 at 29th and Market, or better yet, take the L to 13th, and catch the bus from its first stop at 13th and Market.

125 does stop at 29th if you request a stop, but if they don_t, you can always take the L at 13th back to 30th.

I assume you are taking the septa to save money. To further lowering your travel cost, get a daily pass for this trip because it is cheaper than using tokens and cash.

  • Some options are listed here -

What are some exciting places to visit in Panama City, Florida?|100209

My mom and I are going to Panama City, FL for my dance nationals, and we will have 2 free days there. What could we do there that we would enjoy??? We were considering going to Gulf World Marine Park. We really don_t want to spend that much money. Help?

  • ....look at _visitpanamacitybeach.com_ for various activities on the beach.Check out Pier Park, and Coconut Creek Mini Golf and Maze, for a nostalgic mini golf _Goofy Golf_ is on of the Original Mini Golf courses.
Also A glass bottom boat trip to shell Island is worth it.

  • Lots of fun things to do there! Depends on what you_re into, lots of shopping (outlet malls, local shops, etc), go carts, mini golf, water parks. PC is okay, but I much prefer the towns west of there, a little more upscale. I know you didn_t pick it, you_re going to nationals, but if you want nicer beaches head an hour west and spend the day in Destin! Also, there are plenty of places to rent jet skis, parasail, etc.
    Hope this helps.

  • Depending on your age Gulf World may not be all that exciting and if you ask me it_s over priced. There_s good shopping at Pier Park, Shipwreck Island Water Park, and Ripleys. Theres_s also of course the beach which is free and you can be out there as long as you want and can even kill an entire day.
  • What is the fare to get to a 1A station using an MBTA interzone pass?|172961

If I have a 1-7 interzone pass coming from Haverhill and need to get off at Malden (zone 1A), what do I pay? Is it just the fare from zone 1 to zone 1A?

  • _Interzone fares and passes are NOT valid for travel to or from North Station, South Station, Back Bay Station and other Zone 1A stations._. Uh-huh.. If I_m reading the website correctly (if can be a big word) an additional four bucks each way, on top of your pass. It_s as clear as mud!
  • What to see in the Olympic Peninsula?|183473

We_re planning a day trip from Seattle to the Olympic Peninsula. We_re renting a car and taking the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton and want to drive through the peninsula from there, returning to Seattle that night. Is it reasonable to expect we can do this in 1 day? What are the _must sees_? Any tips would be greatly appreciated! Thanks :)

  • Yes, you can do it!

Head for Sequim from Bremerton. That_ll take just over an hour. When you get to Sequim, don_t miss (if you like big animals) the Olympic Game Farm. It_s home to lots of retired Disney (and other movie) animals and you get to feed them from your car. Be prepared to have zebra heads half way into the front seat and buffalo begging from you. It_s a lot of laughs, and you can drive through it in half an hour or 45 minutes.

Then on to Port Angeles, just 15 minutes beyond. The most important thing to do there is to drive to the top of Hurricane Ridge. The road to the top starts right in downtown Port Angeles on Race Street and you_ll be up there in about half an hour. You_ll have one of the most spectacular views in the world up there, and it won_t be much out of the way.

Then back down the hill and on to Forks, a little over an hour away, where you can either tour the _Twilight_ book settings or skip them and go on to the ocean beaches, any one of which you can stop at and scout for rocks and driftwood. The Kalaloch Lodge on the coast is a good place to have a meal (probably dinner by this time, as you would likely have had lunch in Port Angeles).

Then down the coast to Aberdeen/Hoquiam/Olympia--just drive through unless you want to see the house where Kurt Cobain grew up in Aberdeen--and back to Seattle. It_ll probably be late by the time you get back--maybe 9 or 10--but you will have put in a good, fun day.

If you don_t want to stretch out the day that much, just stop when you get to Port Angeles and turn around and head back to Bremerton the same way you came. You_ll be back in Seattle by late afternoon.

    EDIT: Re: Hood Canal Bridge.
Well, now that does present a problem. There are ways to get to the Peninsula without the bridge, but they don_t really work with a trip to Bremerton on the ferry.
Instead of taking the ferry from Seattle to Bremerton, why don_t you drive north to Mukilteo (Everett area) and take the ferry to Whidbey Island. Once on Whidbey Island, you drive to Keystone and take the ferry to Port Townsend. From Port Townsend (a cute little Victorian-style town) you drive 45 minutes to Sequim and the rest of what I describe above is still intact. This does add some time to your trip but allows you to visit the Olympic Peninsula as you originally planned.
Otherwise, the only logical way to do this during that 6-wk time frame of bridge closure is to do it backwards--that is, drive around the Sound by going down through Olympia, then up the coast on 101 through Aberdeen to Kalaloch, Forks, Port Angeles, Sequim--and then back to the ferry at Port Townsend, back to Whidbey Island and Mukilteo, and back to Seattle on I-5. Without the bridge though, you can_t really incorporate a ferry ride to Bremerton in with a day on the Peninsula. Sorry about the timing.

ANOTHER EDIT: Without the Hood Canal Bridge, the best way to get on the Peninsula is the ferry from Whidbey Island to Port Townsend. That involves the option I mentioned in my first edit, i.e., going to Mukilteo (north of Seattle) first, taking one ferry to Whidbey, then driving to the ferry at Keystone on Whidbey and taking the short trip across to Port Townsend. (You should be able to do all that within a time frame of under 3 hours, and then you_re ready to explore the Olympic Peninsula in whatever part of the day you feel you have left. If you intend to return the same way you got there, you will need to set aside three hours at the end of your day to do that. I trust that will give you at least 6-8 hours on the Peninsula. It_s about 45 minutes to Sequim from Port Townsend, about 20 minutes to Port Angeles from Sequim, and about 75 minutes to Forks from Port Angeles. If you want to stop for lunch in Port Townsend, figure 75 minutes, the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim, figure 90 minutes, the drive to the top of--and back-- and time to appreciate Hurricane Ridge, figure 2 hours. That_s over 7 hours without having dinner; maybe you have dinner in Forks and drive back to Port Townsend in that last 3 hours you_ve reserved for getting back to Seattle; OR--if you get as far as Forks, you may as well drive down 101 to Olympia and then back north on 1-5 to Seattle. You should be able to do all that in about the same amount of time without backtracking. HOWEVER, if you don_t feel you can make it to Forks without extending your day too much, you could drive just beyond Port Angeles to some eating spot on the way to Forks (It_s a beautiful drive, and Granny_s, about 10 miles out on the highway, is a good choice) and then turn around and go back to Port Townsend to begin your ferry trip back to Whidbey and to Mukilteo. As I forgot to calculate waiting time at the ferry landings, chances are you_ll have to add about an hour to the whole trip in order to account for waiting at each landing. Or, you could save time altogether by picking up something to eat as you wait for ferries, or by eating ON the ferry. Options are a bit limited on those particular ferries, but you can always find something to get you by. The time savings would be worth it, I think, making you feel less rushed as you explore the Peninsula).

  • If you don_t mind coming home at night time, then you definitely can make a day of it and see many sights. There are so many fun things to do across the Peninsula would go to the Petrified Forests, or visit Port Townsend (very cute town) I personally would take the ferry to Port Townsend, drive around through the Olympic National forest, check out the petrified forest, head over the the coast and come home from the south, but you can also go the other way and start from the south and save on some ferry costs or skip the ferry altogether. The ferry (as I_m sure you know) may save you time, but for the wait of the ferry that you have most of the time doesn_t really save you time, just a little bit of driving and gas. I hope that helped, sorry I couldn_t give you too many more ideas. We always seem to hit the same destinations and I bet there is a lot more out there. :)

  • You could kill two birds with a stone by seeing the
Pacific Ocean and the Olympic National Rainforest.
One popular place to enter the rainforest is at the
place where the Hoh River empties into the ocean.

You could hike on the beach there before or after
taking a hike through the rainforest. There is an
entrance to that forest by the north side of the Hoh
River. You could find it there off of Highway # 1.
  • Where in southern CA can i live near the beach but not spend a fortune?|198850

My fiance and I are going to move to southern CA for his job. We want to live near the beach without spending a fortune. Any ideas?

  • Long Beach or Huntington would be your best option

  • In Long Beach, Alamitos Beach is probably the cheapest. But the parking is absolutely the worst, and its not the nicest of areas. Its borderline ghetto, and if you walk just a few short blocks north, you will be in the Ghetto. I only lasted 2 months living there.

  • I don_t live in CA so I can_t tell you about it being affordable (but I have heard that most of CA is pretty pricey!). My dad lives in RIverside (about 30-45 from the beach and the mountains...ocean front is going to cost you a lot more... and being a half hour away shouldn_t be too bad!

  • ummm, well where is his job that would be the best starting point....obviously many people want to live near the great beaches...Where does he work or what kind of job does he have...there are many miles and miles of beaches...?

  • Unfortunately, that is PROBABLY near-impossible.

Housing/rentals that are near the beach are at a premium - and carry a premium price tag.

  • Ocean Beach in San Diego
    Imperial beach

  • I think I would try for Long Beach or Seal Beach, but it is all expensive.

  • Oceanside is the cheapest of all Southern California beaches, but it is next to the Marine base!
Long Beach is very diverse, expensive near the water and cheaper as you go inland, ghetto actually...

  • Depends on what you classify as spending a fortune, because homes in CA cost a lot. Your best chances are with Huntington Beach, Long Beach, Seal Beach, Oceanside and way down south Imperial Beach.

  • It_s really very simple: It_s all about supply and demand. EVERYBODY wants to live near the beach. But there is only a limited amount of real estate near the beach. Thus, high demand times low supply equals VERY high prices.

Actually, I DID find an inexpensive place about 12 miles from the beach: It_s called Compton. Check out craigslist, I_m sure you can find a great deal.
  • What is the best: living alone in the woods or living in the city?|109759

I always dream of living alone in the woods. Living close with nature. Hearing all these wild animal sounds. Watching the sunrise and the sunset. Away from these crazy technologies once in a while. Have you ever felt that feeling wherein you were almost _this_ close to Earth? I_m not a naturalist or a Green Peace member. I_ve grown tired of living in the busy streets of the metro. I need a breath of fresh AIR!!!

  • I_ve lived in BOTH settings- and have enjoyed them both. But unless you have serious emotional _issues_ and can_t _handle_ dealing with your OWN thoughts- NOTHING beats living alone in the woods. Because you don_t _feel_ alone... -Life in a zillion _forms_ is going on _ in communication around you...- _ there_s SO much to, _tune in too..._ And once you learn to tap into that, you ALWAYS have _Company_. In the City, -virtually ALL your contact is Human based... -It_s like ONE strain of music, playing over, _ OVER- again. It_s comforting in it_s way...-but it_s _dulling_ of the mind _ imagination... -and can lead to a dangerous _ stifling sort of Security. Country living really IS the way to go. :)

  • I bet it will be great to do that for a few days, but I am sure I - and probably you too - cannot do that for more than a few days.

  • I would love to take a break from a place like the city and go to the woods but i could never do that for more than a week or so but i think id live in the city and vacation to the woods or another place away from the city

  • I think that I could do that for maybe 3 days......then I would need to get in my car, and go find a laptop or something.

  • I live in the forest. I am a Troll ! Come and live near me and I will teach you how to eat roots and bugs and show you why eating roots and bugs makes me a little sideways.
But you can not live closer than 20 kilometers. I do not like a lot of people crowding in on me. You may want to start letting your toe nails grow now , so you can dig out roots and bugs.

What are some counties/towns in Montana and Alberta that are within 3 hours of each other?|170870

I want to take a vacation to both Montana and Alberta and want to stay in towns that are at least one hour from the border, so I would like to know what areas in Montana and Alberta are about 2 hours from each other. Thanks !

  • Lethbridge, Alberta, and Great Falls, Montana?

Great Falls is almost two hours away from the border, though. Maybe something closer, such as Conrad or Shelby, would work, but they_re quite small. There are also places around Glacier National Park.
  • What is the best places to go on a road trip in texas?|186247

i am planning a fun and exciting road trip as a family vacation right here in texas. But what is the best places to go. I need lots of ideas i am really good at planning. i was thinking the six flags amusement parks and the alamo, and even blue bell creamery and places like that, but i want the kids to have fun so what else is out there. I am trying to plan it on a budget though.

  • I think your kids might enjoy these places.
    Houston -
Downtown Aquarium is 500,000 gallons of marine life. You can ride a train through a shark tank, eat at the Aquarium restaurant, see exhibits and play games.
NASA Space Center to see actual space crafts, touch moon rocks, land a shuttle or try a space walk on a simulator.

    Georgetown -
    Inner Space Caverns

    New Brunfels -
Schlitterbaun, the largest water park in Texas

    Glen Rose -
Dinosaur Valley State Park to see well preserved dinosaur tracks in the riverbed of the Paluxy River, when river is low in summer. Call 254-897-4588 to check on water depth.
Fossil Rim Wildlife Park has some of the world_s most endangered animals roaming the 2,700 acre park along with 60 other species of wild animals.
  • Where is the best scenery and most peaceful place in Alaska?|195587

Might be living there eventually... (No LARGE cities please)

  • Denali is beautiful. I just took the trip for the first time a few weeks ago. It_s relaxing and very calming to see all of the beautiful scenery that the park has to offer. Portage Glacier is also very exquisite and a nice thing to see if you_ve never seen it before.

    Military Bases:
Eielson Air Force Base - southeast of Fairbanks
Elmendorf Air Force Base - Anchorage Army Posts
    Fort Richardson - Anchorage
    Fort Wainwright - Fairbanks

  • Well it depends on what you see as large. But the nice thing about AK is that you can live outside the city easily. I live in Fairbanks, and most of the population in either on base or outside of Ak. there is also delta, takes less than five min to drive through. All throughout AK there is beautiful scenery, when its really clear you can see Denali and it beautiful, in the winter there are the stars that are SO BRIGHT and the moon gets very big and bright and of course there is the Aurora.

  • Best scenery depends on what you like. If you like a maritime climate and the sea, then live somewhere on the Kenai Peninsula...not really any big cities there. If you like a more continental climate with bigger mountains (but more extreme temps) you could live in Talkeetna. For a balance of the two, and to be nearer to a big city (but not in one) you could live in the Mat-Su Valley northeast of Anchorage (that is where I am planning on living in a few years).

As for military bases, there are Elmendorf (Air Force) and Richardson (Army) in Anchorage, and there are Eielson (Air Force) and Wainwright (Army) outside Fairbanks.

  • Well the others have mentioned the air force and army bases. We also have 2 coast guard stations (one in Kodiak and one in Sitka). There are also smaller posts here and there too. Now I live in Anchorage and find it lovely. However if I want to leave town to go camping and what not I can either go south along the Seward highway, and within 10 miles see nothing but the highway, the water and the mountains. or one of my favorites is to head north and then east towards Tok. Stopping in the mountains and camping. In the fall watching all the changing colors and going berry picking (yes, I do bring a gun as bears are out looking for berries too). Just listening to the birds and nature. A few years ago my grandmother from Tennessee came up. we came across a field of purpley-pink fireweed just covering this field. She thought it would make a wonderful picture to take home and asked us grandkids to go stand in it. We got there and disappeared, the plants were like cornstalks. She loved that photo.
that is the thing about even Alaska_s largest city, 15 minutes you can be in wilderness. Even from downtown
  • What is there to do around Eastern Illinois University?|186916

i am planning on going to EIU in the fall of 2009, and just wondering what there is to do in charleston.

  • I grew up near Charleston and have two degrees from Eastern. If you want to go to college be willing to study and complete your courses and degree(s) on time. If you can do the required studying and make the grades the first year or two then that frees you up to have more free time to investigate the area around Charleston. Charleston is a small city but Eastern is a great university. There are a lot of historic sites as well as other interesting places to visit around Charleston. With a car you can travel around the area within two hours and see much more. Use the internet to find the exact places which may interest you. A lot of the sites around Charleston are on the theme of President Lincoln.

  • Jackson Av Coffee (Live Music), Bars/Bands(usu. let in freshman), Movie theater, Parties(you don_t nec. have to drink), Champaign is an hour away and they have clubs that let in 19 y/o_s, Campus activities(you get a weekly calendar and there are tons). Overall, its what you make it.. :)

What is the temperature in alaska during feb/mar in anchorage/fairbanks?|171887

I would like to travel to alaska in feb/march. I would like to know where the best places to take photos of the northern lights are. Also what sort of temperatures i can expect in both Anchorage and Fairbanks?

  • Your first 2 answers are really good. I just wanted to add some web links with more information you might find helpful.

    The Aurora forecast page:

    http://www.gedds.alaska.edu/AuroraForeca

If you want to see the aurora winter is a must, and it is more dramatic when there is little or no moon, the darker the better to see them. Also if you get away from towns and the light they throw once again you are more likely to see impressive aurora. Late night seems to be the most active time. Ask locals they will tell you they see the best aurora on the last trip to the outhouse before bed. people with indoor plumbing miss all the best shows.

I apologize as I am not a photographer, and hence not a good judge, but this article appeared to have lots of information for photographing the Aurora, and the photographer is local with some very nice work, and his advice on handling cold and dressing is right on.

    http://www.alaskaphotographics.com/how_t

And here is a great source of climate information:

    http://climate.gi.alaska.edu/

Now this last bit is completely biased, but if you came in Feb you could also see and photograph the Yukon Quest, an amazing 1000 mile dog sled race.

    http://www.yukonquest.com/

  • I live in Wasilla, Alaska which is 40 miles or so north of Anchorage.
It is probably going to be fairly cold in february and march, but it could be either up to 30 or 40 degrees, or negative10 to -20. It is pretty
unpredictable to narrow down very much because our weather system
is pretty volatile but I can tell you to bring warm clothes and a warm jacket. Fairbanks is typically quite a bit colder than Anchorage in the
winter. We get the northern lights here but they are stronger in fairbanks because that is up north on the Parks Highway about 300 miles. Also february would be better for viewing the Northern Lights. I hope you have a good time here if you make it here.

  • I was stationed near Fairbanks for 19 months in 1964 and 1965. The usual temp. there in Feb/Mar was about 40 degrees below 0, Farenheit but it is a dry cold. The temps in Anchorage during that time are about the same as Wisconsin or Minnesota and it is very damp and windy so that it feels colder than the temp. I stayed there for 2 months.

I saw Northern Lights every day when I was near Fairbanks but they were usually just pale green lights on the horizon. One time the lights were directly overhead, were many colors that moved in spirals and were absolutely mind blowing. but you can_t count on that.

    Hope this helps.

  • I am a professional Alaskan Aurora Borealis photographer - you can see some of my work at www.northpolegallery.com and I have a 13 page guide to Aurora Photography in the News Section.

The aurora is caused by two things - sunspots and solar flares. Sun spots follow an 11 year cycle and we are in a very low period. Solar flares are unpredictable. Lucky for us the same thing that causes the aurora also kills communications satellites - and from my web site you can join an email list from the government and receive some warning - it_s not perfect, but, sure beats sleeping on the couch and poking your head out the door every hour when it is -45F.

Good info so far. I live in North Pole, just south of Fairbanks and it can get to +10F in the day and -35F at night in Feb. March you can get up to +45 in the day and swing back down to -35F at night.

The end of Feb and early are March are the best time for Photographers to come to Fairbanks. Traditionally this is a good time for the aurora, but - there are other photo ops if the aurora is a no show. The NCOA dog sled championships are started in the middle of the city and this is a great day time photo op. The International Ice Carving Championship is in full swing and this is both a good daytime and awesome nighttime photo op. Hundreds of ice sculptures all lighted in different colored light. Very nice.

You will need to get out of the city to see the aurora. This can be potentially life threatening. There are 4 roads that lead out of Fairbanks and not much traffic on any of them in the middle of the night. Dress warm, bring an emergency sleeping bag, blankets, candles, flashlights, etc etc in your rental car. Very important to let your hotel front desk know where you are going, and that they call the troopers if you are not back by 5am - tip them.

I am usually at both the dog races, ice park and out aurora hunting during that period. You are welcome to tag along. I hold regular aurora photo classes and always let others know when I am out - so they can poach secrets and camera settings from me - lol.

Feel free to email me with any area or aurora questions!

  • I would like to go to Colorato for vacation in winter. What would you suggest for me?|181918

I and my girlfriend want spend a week in Colorado this winter. We would like to rent a cabin close to skiing resort and where is nice and romantic nature.

  • Try Telluride, Colorado. You will love it. Beautiful place.
  • How long would ground shipping from Indianapolis to Northern Illinois take?|173247

So I ordered a hat and the warehouse is in Indianapolis. I live about 20 miles Northwest of Chicago. I ordered the hat on Tuesday last week. i was expecting it today, but not much luck. I ordered Embroidery on the back, so maybe a day or two for that. So, how long do you think it would take, and do you think it will arrive anytime soon? It_s normal ground shipping, so yeah.

  • Probably 2 days. Go to ups.com and put in originating zip code and destination zip code and it will tell you
  • How to go about moving onto an indian reservation in New York?|172556

I_m 1/4 cherokee indian and I was wondering if its possible for me to move onto a reservation? And how would I go about doing so?

  • Reservations are sovereign tribal land. Each reservation is separately governed by its own tribal government. There are no Cherokee reservations in New York. In fact, there is only one Cherokee reservation in the United States: The Eastern Cherokee Reservation in North Carolina. It is called the Qualla Boundary. In order to get a land/housing assignment on that reservation you have to be enrolled in the Eastern Band of Cherokee. If you_re of another Cherokee tribe that isn_t EBC you can_t get a housing/land assignment on the EBC reservation. If you want to live on a reservation in New York you must be enrolled in a New York-based tribe and then you_d only qualify to live on your tribe_s reservation. You couldn_t just go live on another tribe_s land.

  • The main part is proving you heritage. While that might seem simple, if it_s not documented in the Tribal rolls or by a recognized genealogist you cannot do it. Here_s a link:

  • Where to go and where to stay in Hawaii for my honeymoon?|170466

My wedding is September, 2009, and I am trying to plan and save for a honeymoon in Hawaii. I think I want to go to Maui and then probably a second island. What two islands are best? I love a beautiful beach and luxury resorts, but part of the time we would also like to do some activities. Also, do you have hotel suggestions? I really do want to stay at beautiful resorts on the beach, but don_t want to go completely broke...suggestions?

  • Maui is a good choice, and Oahu has the most activities, but the most people. Kauai is gorgeous, with less activities, by far. Hawaii has the volcano, but only one beach! If you are concerned about costs, look into privately owned condos in Maui and other islands. We stay at one in Kihei that is $80/nt. in the fall, and it_s across the street from the best beach around! It won_t make you go completely broke, and is really nice. You can make some of your meals in the kitchen, and hit the beach, and then go out for dinner. Maui has many activities, I will list the website. Good luck!

  • First let me tell you that you picked a fabulous month to get married and have your honeymoon. It is considered low season in Hawaii so you will have less people and it_s cheaper :-)

Most honeymooners go to Maui and Kauai. Maui is more popular for tours and activities and Kauai is more kick back. Kauai is more _old Hawaii_ where time stands still. A lot of clients like to go to Kauai and be a vegetable after their wedding, then proceed to Maui and do some tours, etc.

Here are some Hotels I recommend. Make sure that you book with someone who has relationships with these properties as they can put in for a free upgrade. Also, make sure your agent does not charge fees (I know of alot of agents that still do - we do not).

    Maui:
    The Fairmont Kea Lani
    Four Seasons Wailea
    Sheraton Maui
    Ritz Carlton Kapalua

    Kauai:
    Grand Hyatt Kauai

  • Firstly, Congrats on your Engagement!

Hawaii is definitely a good choice for a Honeymoon, being the # 1 Honeymoon destination, they must be doing something right!

As far as islands, Maui is a favorite among most travelers. There is just so much to do there and truly offers a wide range for people with all sorts of interests! The Big Island, Lanai or Kauai I could all be possible choices to look at, but without knowing a bit more background on the type of Honeymoon you are looking for it_s difficult for me to recommend just one out of the 3.

Last year I went to the Big Island, stayed in Keauhou at the Sheraton. But because of the volcano activities it_s not on a beach, but on a lava rock formation. To stay on a beautiful beach you would need to stay in Waikoloa.

That is just one of the two islands, but yeah without further information it_s just to difficult to comfortably recommend one over the other.

Feel free to contact me if you like and I would be happy to help you. I_m actually a destination wedding/honeymoon specialist. Even if not through me may I recommend to definitely go through a travel agent. Travel agents are like any job profession there are the good, bad _ ugly! So once you find one it is always a good idea to stick with them. I learned a long time ago to be honest no matter what the honesty was regarding. Instead of some agents who always agree to make the _sale go quicker_. I always do my best to ask enough questions to arrange the trip or honeymoon I feel will best suit the couple.

This isn_t some of my best work on answering, but its end of the day Friday and I saw your question earlier and wanted to answer quick before I took off for the weekend!
  • What are good day trips out of Northern Virginia?|182587

I live in Northern Virginia and I want to get out of the state for a day trip, where are some good places to go? Places that are easy to get to and cheap.

  • Harpers Ferry West VA is nice. It_s a charming little town with amazing mountain views. Lots of nice and affordable bed and breakfasts there and great hiking. Only about an hour and a half drive from northern VA.

  • you can go mt. vernon where gorge washington died and lived in

How can avoid paying toll when going to DFW airport in DAllas Tx?|184964

I live in Fort worth and take either 183 or 121 but either way I have to pay toll. Is there a way to avoid it ?

  • If you go into the airport you must pay a toll. When this first started someone sued, saying that since this access road is actually a state highway the airport could not charge a fee to travel through the airport, of course the government won and now you must pay to drop off or pick up anyone at the airport.

  • If you are actually going to the airport then you will have to pay a toll to get to parking or the terminals. However, if what you want is to cut through the airport property from 183 to 114 then you can drive down the service road right next to the main road that goes into the airport. You get on that road before you get to the toll booth. The road will bypass the terminals.

  • The toll is not on those roads, the toll is for access to the airport itself and the terminal for pick up/drop off. You cannot avoid it.

  • Don_t slow down :D
  • What is the best part of Florida to live in?|168625

I want to be by the ocean, but also be where the apt rental prices are cheap / reasonable. And why do you recommend it?

  • If you want to be close to Orlando and beach area access, but want affordability - consider the Winter Garden area. It_s just up Colonial - which will take you right into Downtown Oralndo.

You can find more information about visiting or living in Winter Garden, Florida here:
    http://www.cwgdn.com/visitor/.

Also, if you want to read more about the Orlando area - visit

  • Live in Orlando and then drive the Beach on the weekends. You have the best of both Worlds. Big City, Beach and a lot to do.
  • What hotel do you think Taylor Swift will stay at in Maryland?|159075

So on June 11 Taylor Swift is having a concert at the Merriweather Post Pavilion (Columbia, MD). Does anyone know any nice hotels she would stay at near by? I really want to meet her! and if you have negative comments then dont comment. thanksss.

  • I think the Marriott.

  • Bad news--there_s really no way to tell for sure, beyond guesses. Columbia is close to both Washington, DC and to Baltimore, Maryland, each of which has nice hotels. And there_s also the Marriott as the person above me suggested. Or, she might not even stay the night in the area--instead arriving and departing on the same day.

Also, celebrities try to sneak in and out of hotels--even if you guessed the correct hotel and were in front or in the lobby you likely wouldn_t see her. Sometimes they use service entrances and freight elevators to avoid public areas of the hotel.

Sorry that this wasn_t the answer you were looking for...

  • Marriott at BWI... but I didn_t tell ya !! Lots of the Merriweather Post performers stay there !
  • How long does it take for a quot;standardquot; letter to go to Oklahoma, From Georgia?|167203

I_m mailing a letter tomorrow to Muskogee, OK, From West Ga, About how long should it take to get there and For one to come back from Oklahoma? I_m needing it back by fathers day. How much of a chance is there that It_ll be back by then, There mailing what I need Back the same day they get my letter.

  • Probably four to five days each way. You might miss the Father_s Day deadline. Now, if you use Priority Mail, it could move quicker, but that_ll cost more.

How much would the average meal cost in Disneyland?|169099

I am planning a trip to Disneyland for a group of guys graduating this year.....We are all on a budget and I was trying to figure out what the average cost per meal would be....if it_s too high, we are considering bringing food, but we_d rather eat in d-land if we were able too...Thanks

  • On average, between your actual meals, drinks and snacks here and there (frozen banana carts, fruit freeze carts, popcorn carts and other stuff), you can plan on spending about $30-$40 a day on food inside D_Land and CA Adventure.

However, all around the outside of Disneyland on Harbor Blvd and Katella Ave, there are numerous restaurants that are all walking distance which are a smart option for one of the meals.

Or, you could do breakfast outside, eat just lunch inside and then leave for dinner again. That would probably be a better plan than bringing food in.

As much fun as Disneyland is, I always look forward to retreating from the crush of the crowd and the lines at some point during the day, and mealtime is a great way to relax a while.

One place that you must try is the ice cream shop on main street. The soft serve there is to die for.

    :D Have a great time !!

  • Figure an average of $12.50 per meal. Hey, save your $$ _ enjoy yourselves. . .

  • the only bad thing is that the food there...sucks! its horrible! :(
  • How is the air pollution near Long Beach Airport, specifically the Los Altos neighborhood?|181702

Thinking of moving there. About a mile southeast from the runway, right along the flight path. Asked an earlier question about the noise pollution and it seems the bigger problem might be air pollution.

I_m reading online that there have been many residents reporting black particles and residue on their property. I_m concerned that the expansion and potential increase in air traffic will only make air quality worse.

Will I be putting my kids at unreasonable health risk by moving there?

  • The only commercial planes flying over that part of the Los Altos area will be on their landing approach with their engines on part throttle. You will be exposed to very little pollution, if any at all. Long Beach Airport is the least used by commercial airlines. I doubt if there is more than 10 commercial flights a day. The majority of its traffic is civil aviation.

Besides you will have the nice cooling breezes off the ocean blowing on shore carrying any crappy air toward the inland parts of So Cal. There won_t be any problems.

You seem to be obsessing over living near an airport. Trust me. After you_ve been there for a week or two you won_t even know the airport is there. You would be moving to a very nice section of Long Beach, a city that has one of the better school systems, and the best public transportation system in the area. You_re worrying over nothing.

  • I live in the Bluff Park neighborhood in Long Beach and I deal more with port pollution than airport noise or pollution.
Goodness, I hope you get an ocean breeze. I think it must skip over my neighborhood. It gets HOT and I live 2 blocks from the water.
You will get much more air pollution from the Port of Long Beach and the 405 than you will from the airport. From what I read the airport only accounts for 2-5% of air pollution in LBC.
There is a US Air Force base at Long Beach Airport. They fly the big cargo planes known as C-17_s which are built at the Boeing factory at the airport. Occasionally a B-1 bomber will fly into the airport for repairs and you will know when it_s coming and going. You can sign up for email notifications from the city of Long Beach to find out when the big military planes are going to fly. It_s never too early in the morning or late at night.
If you_re still concerned then the California Air Resources Board and the Air Quality Management District (AQMD) of Southern California would be the agencies to contact.

The TV show _Dexter_ has some of it_s scenes filmed in Los Altos. The magic of Hollywood since _Dexter_ is supposed to take place in Miami.

  • i think i answered your first question about the planes. don_t worry about the air pollution if it was really a problem they would do something about it. your moving to LA metro area of course the air quality is not the greatest, but better than central LA. los altos is a nice middle, middle/upper class area good for raising kids.
  • Wheres a good place to park in Hollywood while walking around with the family?|153722

We_ll be stopping by on vacation to Anaheim, and spending a few hours in Hollywood, checking out Chinese Theater, walk of fame and just generally being dorks, but where is a good, safe place to park while being dorkish?

  • Park in the structure next to Hollywood and Highland. If you buy something in the _mall_ you can get your parking validated it_s $2 for 4 hours. Can_t beat that!

    http://hollywoodandhighland.com/informat

  • The others are correct, but they didn_t mention that the parking structure is for the Hollywood and Highland complex, which includes the Kodak Theater, and Chinese Theater. It_s right across from the El Capitan, where they show Disney movies.

Safe, clean, the best place in Hollywood to park.

BTW, you can also jump on the Red Line subway and go one stop north to Universal City Walk and do the tourist thing there, too.

  • Theres a paking place in back across from the Kodak Theater, its a little garage, thees a sign and the parking ramp goes up, its 10 dollars for parking and they close late so its a good deal, we always park there when hanging in Hollywood. If your going down Hollywood Blvd you will see the Old big white Hotel I think its calld the Rosevelt well if your coming down and its on the left side then you take the right exactly in front of the Hotel its a small intersection with only right turn and the parking structure is after a few stores and on the left again theres a sign that says parking, good luck.

  • The parking lot in any of the theaters, or street parking if you can find it.

Or better yet, just take Amtrak from Anaheim to Union Station, and then the subway (red line) to Hollywood. The Hollywood/Highland stop will take you right to the Chinese theater.

  • I think there is a huge parking garage on the back side of the Kodak Theater. It_s where people park to catch buses to the Hollywood Bowl.
    Give that a try !!!!!!

  • The parking structure at the Kodak Theatre, it_s close to most of the sites and not too expensive by Hollywood standards.

  • I like the parking structure behind the Chinese Theater that leads right into the mall.

  • in the kodak theatre, i allways park there
  • British Citizen living in Canada crossing the US border near Buffalo?|166136

I_m planning on crossing the US border from Canada around this fall. I did the same trip last year and I had to wait in a stupid room with a million people at Buffalo for two hours. Is there a better place to cross nearby or is there any paperwork or clearance I can get to cross beforehand? I_m a British Citizen but am also a permenant resident of Canada.

  • Be careful, Buffalo is very dangerous. I_m afraid to go there, the newspaper is always writing about murders and robberies every day.

  • why do u have a problem crosing if u have a permanent resident card?? I am also a British citizen but live in Canada.I have a valid British passport and i also geta card at the American side of the border called Visa Waiver.......it is good for three months and cost $6 american.I have a problem with my birth and record of landing info which i need to get amended before i can get my permanent resident card. The card i get at the border is called I-94 Look into that or a valid british passport

  • Try the Queenston-Lewiston crossing (at the end of Highway 405) or the Rainbow Bridge in Niagara Falls. Fewer people use these crossings.

What is a reasonable rate for an apartment in Culver City, West Hollywood, or surrounding neighborhoods?|155618

    Additional Details:

    -Studio or one bedroom
-At least 500 square feet, give or take a few (474_ is fine)
    -Furnished or Unfurnished
    -Preferably something with parking

I would be happy to provide any additional details if need be. I appreciate any and all feedback and would love to reward a ten point answer! Thank you in advance.

  • Culver City: somewhere between $950-1200; WeHo: $1000-1600.... trust me, I_ve tried. Another thing, do not do the website thing, they only post the over-priced places on there. I would suggest do drive by_s around your area of interest (I found a 1 bed in Beverly Hills for $850, you just have to look around in person). You might also want to try the Fairfax District, adjacent to WeHo, it might be just slightly affordable.... even more affordable: Hollywood, but we all know what that is like..... good luck!

  • I would say that you can find studios and 1 bedrooms for $800-$1400. Here are some good websites to search:

    http://www.craigslist.com

    http://www.rent.com
    - What I like about this site is that you can by city and it will also list nearby towns and tell you the mileage from Culver City...there are other towns very close by that might also work.

Be aware that there are some studios for rent that do not have kitchens...or just partial ones.

    Good luck with your search!

  • WeHo can be pretty pricey, but I think for a studio or 1-bedroom you_ll probably be looking at somewhere between 800-1600, depending on how nice the apartment is, etc etc. I think you can probably get something cheaper in Culver City or some of the not-as-fancy parts of West LA.

  • between $1,250 and $2,000.
  • How much time does it take to get places while hopping a freight train?|165837

I_m aware of the risks of train hopping. I_ve been doing a bit of research and have a railroad map, but I_ve been unable to find info on approximately how long it takes to get places.

  • Depends on what you ride, A stack train will have more power to pull. They generally go from point A to point B with out stopping and have the green light most of the way. A mixed goods train will most stop along the way to pick up and set off cars. A coal train is the slowest of all going just from mine to factory. Jump the right train and be from Chicago to LA in about 5 days. Be careful tho!

  • usually it takes about six hours but serial killers take four more hours because they have a busy schedule
  • Where should we go on vacation for our anniversary?|179213

My boyfriend and I are trying to plan a one year anniversary trip but can_t decide on anything. We live in So Cal and want to go somewhere out of state, but in the US (and not vegas). It needs to be under $1000 total, and we would be going for close to a week. I would like to go to a destination that have some activities to keep us busy in the day so we don_t just stay in the room and watch tv, and someplace that we can also have a romantic dinner.
For background: We are in our mid 20_s, some of our general interests are music, theatre, sports, movies, technology, and sightseeing.

  • buy a cheap package to hawaii ! i think the island of oahu or maui would be perfect !

  • I know you said you wanted to stay in the US but you could go on a cruise to parts of Mexico for definitely under $1000. Also on cruises all your meals are included, so no extra $ there. Cruises have tons of activities through out the day.

Just go to Carnival_s (or whichever) website and search destinations from CA ports

Oh I meant to add that (I think) until Jan 08 you don_t have to have passport to travel to mexico with cruise ships.

  • well for sightseeing you would need to come to Helena, Montana...the mountains are BEAUTIFUL!!! I dont know what the cost would be to drive from So Cal to here but we drove from Austin, TX (alittle over 1800 miles) and spent about $500 for gas, food, and 3 nights in hotels (we have a honda so get alittle over 400 miles to a tank) but MT has a TON of Mountain trails and beautiful lakes...but other than that theres not much of anything else

  • Malta is an island in the middle of the Mediterranean. Consisting of 7 islands it is an ever increasing popular tourist resort due to it_s tropical climate, exciting nightlife, and a history dating back thousands of years. I have been there last year and it_s wonderful

    I suggest you visit
    http://www.paradisemalta.com
to get a glimpse of this beauty

if it helps kindly remember me in your voting!.. cheers!

  • Hawaii is always good. Or you can go on a cruise...all inclusive:)

  • You can get good vacation packages to Hawaii for cheap if you leave and come back during the week. Check out hawaiianair and aloha air_s website.

  • i think that Hawaii is the perfect place to share your memories together, it is also a very romantic place. I think that you will have a great time there. Happy Anniversary!

  • i would suggest paris but that not in the state.

What is the weather like in Las Vegas at the end of March?|153129

I_m going to Las Vegas with the guys from work on the 21st March until the 25th and I have no idea what to expect! Is it windy, dry, humid, chilly? Any advice would be fab!

  • It is absolutely beautiful! We go every year during the last week of March. It_s mid 70_s during the day, warm enough to swim and wear shorts and a tank top while you are out. I can get a little windy, but not much. At night a light jacket is necessary as it drops down to the 60_s. Since this is the only time of year we visit Vegas, this is the only weather I associate with it. It_s dry, definitely not humid. I would not wear long sleeves during the day, and you might be a little more comfortable if you change into a pair of pants at night. The sky is always a bright blue with very little or no clouds. It is perfect! Have Fun, I_ll be there with you.

  • who cares ! everyone is always inside

  • IT IS NICE NOT SO HOT DURING THE DAY AND ABOUT 60_S AT NIGHT ENJOY YOUR TRIP

  • This is the best time to go...it_s not unbearable...so you_re looking at about mid 70_s high 80_s...
    Not too hot...Have a blast!!!

  • If you are going to Las Vegas you do not have to worry about the weather because you are going to spend your time in the hotels or Casinos. in side the Casinos weather is good. you know money smells so good there you do not want to go anywhere.
But let me tell you the truth weather is nice in march, not very hot but in the night about 50.

  • fantastic
  • Where can you find good Christmas decorations in Los Angeles?|152355

My friend is getting married in December and is looking for something like a park or someplace that has really pretty Christmas decorations up to use as the site for her 4 person ceremony. Even a shopping center that has an open space would do.

  • Pasadena City Hall decorates for Christmas. It_s a very pretty display.

The Grove in LA also has a nice display. It_s so crowded during the holidays I don_t know how you could perform a ceremony unless it was after hours.

The Department of Water _ Power puts on a great display of lights at Griffith Park.

Some of the displays don_t get turned on until this weekend so check their websites for dates.

  • PLEASE tell me this will be NEXT December. If it_s this December, you_ll never get the permits in time.

Most public places generally charge a fee for a marriage ceremony. You_ll have to do some homework. But here are some other suggestions:

The Balian Mansion, Altadena. Since it_s only 4 people, you might be able to get permission from the Balians. They own Balian Ice Cream in LA, and the mansion makes Clark Griswold seem like an amateur.

    Christmas Tree Lane, Altadena

Disneyland! They specialize in magical weddings. We LOVE Disneyland during the holidays. You can FEEL the magic. Even taste it, although it has a bit of a soapy flavor.

That idea of the DWP lights is a good one. I think it would be ideal to have the ceremony under one of the canopies of lights at either end of the display.
  • What camping ground is good for eighteen to twenty year olds in California?|164770

What would happen if you went on holiday to America but never took the flight back?|154146

You just never turned up for the flight home and just stayed there, would people start looking for you and arrange like a man hunt or would they just leave you to it? I think it would be fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well you can stay there for up to 6 months. Chances are you won_t get a job because you don_t have a work visa or a proper visa. You just get a temporary one which lasts 6 months. So after 6 months they_ll try and find out where you are. Which is easy. Any cash you take out over there, they will know. Plus you can_t fly back without them knowing so you_ll be interviewed as to why you stayed longer than you said you would. It_s not a good idea to do it. Lol.

  • There are so many illegal immigrants in the US that I doubt very much that they_re checking the flight records of everyone who goes in and out of the country and organising a man hunt for everyone who misses their flight.

If you over-stay your allotted time by a day or so because you missed you flight you will probably not get into trouble and as you say it might be fun for a while to feel like an outlaw. When I visited the United States I certainly felt tempted to do just that. I didn_t though.

In the US you are obliged to carry identification with you at all times and if you are stopped by the police for any reason you will most likely be caught.

I believe they won_t go out of the way to look for you but if they find you, you will be arrested, tried, punished and deported. You will then find yourself in trouble with the UK authorities as well as the US authorities and you will probably find it impossible to ever return to the US.

There are bigger problems though. For example, how will you earn money, without identification? In the US there is no free medical care so how would you obtain and pay for medical insurance? You will need to obtain false credentials and that would get you into even more serious trouble.

I really don_t think it_s worth the risk over a bit of fun.

  • Nothing would happen assuming you didn_t have any run ins with authorities or didn_t try to travel out of the US where you_d need your passport. You don_t need your passport to travel around. though i_m not sure of taking trains and planes where you might have to go through security.

They would not look for you or know you haven_t left. you would just officially be asked to leave if you came into contact with border control, etc. - which would only happen if you tried to travel internationally.

You would still be able to use your credit and debit cards from the UK.

But you_d have to work for someone for cash without documents (millions of central americans do it).

I_m not sure if you could open a bank account without a work number. But perhaps you could have a bank that is also located in the UK and use it here.

As long as you were doing something productive and not trying to live off of public services I don_t see any big harm.

  • You_d find it really difficult. The US authorities take a dim view of people overstaying...

They would flag your passport, which would make it very difficult to travel within the US. They_d also flag your credit/debit cards, so you_d have no access to cash. You would be sought (although I doubt they_d put you on the FBI_s most wanted list unless you share a name with a terrorist), and when they found you, you_d be deported and banned from ever re-entering the country. You might also get a criminal record.

It might sound like fun, but it isn_t worth it...

  • Assuming at some point you need money, you will need to find a job. To legally work in the US you need to have a social security number. Sooner or later you will be discovered and deported back to your native country. Could you get away with it for a long time, probably - lots of people do.

  • You got some great answers. Your idea of fun is pretty strange. Yes, your credit and debit cards would be flagged, You would be deported and banned from re-entry. How does the U.K. feel about illegal immigrants? Do they think it is funny when people try to stay in the U.K. illegally? I doubt it. The U.S. is really sick and tired of illegal immigrants , so this is a very poor time to even think about it.

  • You would be arrested because it is against the conditions of your Visa. you cant live or work with a visitors visa. this would get you in a lot of trouble

  • Well if you exceed your stay they will assume you_re undertaking activities other than leisure. You will be found and arrested unfortunately.

  • Haha.
    I really don_t know.
I assume someone would report you missing though.

  • look at this country we have so many illegal immigrants they do get through the net but usa laws are different to ours
  • How Many days would it take to get from Houston texas to wells maine?|167816

I am having a Package coming and i would like to know how long it would take.

  • Call the purveyor, i.e., USPS, UPS, Fedex, etc. If you don_t know the phone number, go online; they all have a website where you can track your package for free.
  • How long does mail take between california and massachussetts?|165725

I mailed 2 letters on the holiday last week from Fresno, CA to Boston, MA and they haven_t arrived yet. Please advise!

  • Usually 3-4 days. Mail _moves_ on Sundays, but not holidays, but does not get delivered on Sundays or holidays. Also, its a package and you send it Priority Mail, it will get there probably 1 day sooner. Check www.USPS.com for details on all of their services and travel times. I think they have an enter starting/destination ZIP code thing and it tells you how long it will take.

  • Can take up to 5-7 business days, especially if there is a holiday involved.

  • Gosh, Diane, our mail travels from CA to Boston _ NY usually in 2 or 3 days....we are always amazed when our family calls to say they received our mail so quickly....

  • 3-5 days. Mail does not run on holidays or sundays so you cant count it.
  • Is there anywhere in Cincinnati that I can watch Detroit sports?|165327

I know this is unlikely, but I just moved to Cincinnati from metro Detroit and I_m a huge Detroit sports fan. Are there any bars that may televise Detroit sports?

Also do you know if satellite services would offer a Detroit sports package?

  • Willies Sports Cafe is another place that tends to have a ton of games on, and if you ask them to put a TV on a certain game, they will al.ways put one on for you with no problem.
I know that DirecTV has various sports options. I believe that with their sports pack, you get all of the various Fox Sports Nets, including FSN Detroit. It certainly shows up on my list of channels, anyway. If price is no object, you can always subscribe to the full sports packs that they offer as well- MLB Extra Innings, NFL Sunday Ticket, I forget what they are called for hockey, NBA, and college sports, but if you were to subscribe to all of those, it would be pricey, but you would get pretty much every game going on in the country, every night of the week, all year round.

  • I live in Cincinnati,
i dont think there are any bars or anything but i think that Dish network has a sports package for each team
you might want to call different sattelite providers to make sure though

But if there is a football game and they are playing detroit or something you can always go to it

PS dont get excited about cincinnati sports
the bengals _ the reds suck

  • Go to Bw-3_s. They are very good about playing big games from all over the country and they have all of the sports packages. The one we go to in Ft. Wright, KY has a bartender who hails from Detroit area, so he always sneaks his Redwings on. You just need to ask when you go in. Good luck!

  • What is the best to acquire property in Waikiki or Honolulu?|177847

I_ve been researching properties for leasehold and fee simple. I do not have much money, but want to find a small condo or studio in the West Waikiki or Honolulu. Possibly a fixer-upper as inexpensively as possible. Want to use it as a personal vacation space and hopefully a _turn-key_ place when not in use by me. Any sound advice as to how to go about this? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

  • GOOD LUCK! I highly doubt that you will find anything reasonble priced, for the price you would pay, you could buy yourself a mansion. I would stick to time shares. there are waiting lists for people just wanting to buy. and be willing to pay the price even though they know that they cant afford it.. instead of waikiki or even oahu period, I would look to a different island, like the Big Island.. Im from Oahu and I know that if i was still living there, owning a home would be impossible, but I moved to the Big Island and was able to afford a nice house. Like i said try time share. go online to ebay, type in timeshares, this is the best way, you can find really good deals

  • Work with an agent experienced in just what you are looking for. They have all the inside information on fees you will have to pay to have your _vacation condo_ managed and their success rate (occupancy rate). Since you are being careful with your money be careful about the agent you choose.

  • Having just been through the experience of buying a place in Hawaii as a vacation home/vacation rental, let me offer the following.
    1) If you intend to use it as a vacation rental you have to be concerned with location and if vacationers will want to rent it. Waikiki and the North Shore are popular for these reasons but the price reflects this. A 2 bedroom _fixer upper_ in Waikiki costs about $400k when I was there earlier this year. Plan on putting a lot more into it to make it acceptable to people who are paying good money to rent it. They don_t want to hear about your financial difficulties when the stove doesn_t work.
    2) Property managers will take anywhere from 20% to 50% of the rental income depending on what servcies they provide. Figure that into the general operating costs as simply gone.
    3) Don_t forget taxes, insurance, condo fees, down payment in addition to the actual mortgage for the condo.
    4) I wouldn_t believe the occupancy rates that the property managers claim.
    5) The state of Hawaii has stopped issuing non-conforming use certificates for condos to be rented on a short term basis. The ones that are operating now are either grandfathered in as mine is at $200 per year, or they are operating without a license. If caught, the one_s without a license can be fined thousands per day.

It_s not for the faint of heart or someone who is cutting the budget closely. Some months are harder to rent than others so you have to be able to absorb the expenses during the lean times.

    Good luck

  • Aloha,

If you are looking for a place to rent out ? Or have a property manager run for you_

Then I would only recommend Waikiki.

Most people do not realize a couple of things about Oahu. It is all Honolulu. Like many other large cities, it has cities within itself. (Like Los Angeles or New York)
The main city of Honolulu, is about 6 miles from Waikiki. but any small homes and Condos of all types surround Honolulu, where as Waikiki is a 2 miles by about 6 blocks of very Denise built up area, almost 75% is Hotels, Resorts, Condos and a few private homes.
Waikiki has many places where you can buy a Condo even with in the big Resorts who now sales many of their rooms as condos and still operate them as hotel rooms

  • When does the season typically open for winter skiing and snowboarding?|139836

I am going to go to either CA, UT, WY or CO to snowboard. I know it varies due to the climate, but does anyone know what the where the earliest openings for resorts are. What states, areas, etc?

  • When it snows...whenever that is.

  • Resorts generally open around Thanksgiving, sometimes sooner depending on snowfall.

Why do snowboarders love Utah so much?

Well, for starters, there is the snow: 500 inches of deep light powder every year that blows up behind you with every turn. Then, you_ve got the best terrain in the world. Snowboards were built for steeps and Utah has them in spades. Rally down a double black diamond here in Utah, and you_ll understand what we_re talking about. Then, of course, there are the terrain parks. From Olympic Super Pipes to monster kickers, Utah knows how to take care of snowboarders. That_s probably why lots of pros make their homes here in Utah. Why go anywhere else, when you can have it all right here in your backyard?

If you are looking for info on the real scene in Utah, check out RideUtah.com. There you_ll get up-to-date park photos for each resort, information about coming events in the scene, articles on style and stories from everyday riders like yourself. So, this winter, come to Utah. Stand sideways. And just try to wipe that grin off of your face.

Snowboarding is not permitted at Alta and Deer Valley.

How much money should i bring for my trip to North Carolina?|162065

  • $186.23

  • Are you going fishing? Start in Raleigh, go to Kitty Hawk by way of Wilson - stop at Bill_s Barbecue - THE most authentic southern barbecue and trimmings in existence.
If you are going to the mountains - just go to Asheville and follow your nose - think _Deliverance_ -- money - just bring an ATM card, Gas Card, and, about 200 in cash in ones and fives for tips. Why go to a mall? Ever!

  • I know quite a few relatives of mine who live in North Carolina, and when my relatives from other states visit, they probably bring around $150-$300. (Remember, you need money for gas if you_re driving, and you might want to have extra money just in case.)

Any burroughs/cities close by with good public transportation that are somewhat safe and have good room prices?

  • DEFINITELY STAY IN HOTEL PENNSYLVANIA!. the hotel is located right across the street from Penn Station/ Madison Square Garden. It was built in 1919 by McKim, Mead _ White, They also designed The NYC Municipal building, original Penn Station, which used to stand in what is now Madison Garden, and many other US national landmarks. The hotel_s architecture is the gorgeous Neo-Renaissance style. the Hotel is very affordable. there are breathtaking views of the city from the bedrooms too. Glen Miller, the famous band leader, wrote the song Pennsylvania 6-5000 about the hotel. Glen Miller also stayed and preformed in the hotel for his Honeymoon, and numerous other times. • What are the pros and cons to moving to Indianapolis?|148103

My boyfriend and I are moving to Indianapolis in 2010 to start a new life together. We are tired of California and want to go to Indianapolis to buy a house and start a family. I know nothing about Indianapolis or know anyone there. How is the city, the people, the neighborhoods, the schools, the JOBS. I want to hear it all. HELP!!!! I want to make sure I make the right decision.

  • The housing market is and has been one of the lowest in price for a number of years. So you_ll definitely get a good deal there. You will be pleasantly surprised once you start looking for houss. The jobs market here is depressed just like it is throughout the US at the moment. But job are still available. What kind of fields do you and your BF work in? The schools, especially in the suburbs, are terrific! Especially in the Fishers, Carmel, Center Grove, and Zionsville school districts. I moved here from California (with brief stops in Wisconsin and Ilinois) 16 years ago and find the people very genuine and friendly. I_m sure you_d like that. Good luck!

  • I happen to think Indianapolis is one of the most largest cities with nothing to do. Indianapolis doesnt appeal to me at all, and I just couldn_t live there. I_ve seen the downtown and around the city a little and I just wouldn_t want to be there. As I_ve mention before ( on a forum), I wouldn_t want to see the city I live in be like Indianapolis... It_s not the type of place I would live.

Pros- Healthy size for a city, located center in it_s state, larger cities near by, large university within city
Cons- The city itself doesnt appeal to me, downtown odd etc...

  • Indy is becoming bigger and more metro. I would not live in Indianapolis. I would live in a town close to it. I have lived in Indiana all my life but I live in a small town south east of Indy a little over an hour away. But the people are very friendly and many people will talk to you even if they don_t know you. It_s pretty funny. Jobs are hard to find right now in Indiana. We have a high unemployment rate well atleast where I am from. My county has the highest in the state. But over Indiana is a pretty good place. The winters suck though. Expect plenty of snow.

  • It will be a very BIG change from California. Trust me (I moved here from NYC). Pros: Cost of living is less expensive, taxes are lower, less crime, less traffic, good schools, friendlier people, and alot of job opportunities (considering the economy). Cons: At first it is soooo boring (if you don_t know anyone or where to go), and even though this city is growing, there is still ALOT of dumb _country folks_ and racism.

  • I live in Carmel - for what it_s worth - just a couple of blocks away from one of the very first traffic lights in the US! (see notes from Wiki)

    http://www.ci.carmel.in.us/

if you move here, consider it (or some other city in Hamilton county). Low crime, low property taxes.

It is very cold here (going to be below zero tomorrow night) and that will be an adjustment but Indpls has so much to offer and lots to do.

    Enjoy!

  • Indianapolis is a great city. Just like any other city there are good parts to it and bad parts. Its a big city, so be prepared for that. But all in all, I think you_ll love it there!

  • Pros... Umm... Move to Canada
    Cons... It_s not Canada...

  • its 10 below right now does that help

  • Ah, another celebrity stalker.

There_s no single dog park where all the celebs go. In fact, very few go to one at all. Spotting a celeb at any one of the dog parks is about as common as seeing one on the street, which is very rare indeed.

I_m planning on going to Yosemite National Park for a weekend of hiking and enjoying nature. When do you recommend is the best time to visit the park? I have from now until June.

  • I have been to Yosemite every season. My two favorites is the winter and spring. The winter is great because of less crowds, beautiful snow, ice skating and snow skiing. May is great too. Go before Memorial day though, cause it really gets crowded after that. The water falls are running like crazy at that time. Hike Vernal falls, but bring like a rain coat, for you will get soaked hiking up to the falls. If you want to hike half dome, remember that the cables don_t go up till about memorial day or so. Check their web site for that. I LOVE that park and go every year at least once. I never get tired of it.

  • If you are bringing kids or if you only want some light hikings, go to Yosemite during Easter. The water falls are at full blown after 2 months of warmer weather. You can stay in the Valley, discover nature, while holding on to the comfort of most commodities such as showers, dining, and even swimming in a hot swimming pool.

If you are a hardcore hiker, then go to Yosemite in the summer between June and September. Mountain trails will be snow free. Bring bug repellent _ sun screen. I once went to Yosmite for 2 weeks backpacking in August. Mosquitos were everywhere: They were there when you pee; they were there in your deck of card when you play; they were there in your cup right after you have just pour water in.

I am moving there in about 3 wks so I just wanted to get a heads up about the summer months and then the winter months? Does it snow really bad? Very very cold?
    Thanks for any help.

  • I_ve lived in Wichita, Kansas for 13 years (my whole life). Um well I can_t really say it_s one specific weather at a time because the weather here I think is crazy it_ll be like really hot one day _ then rainy stormy looking the next 3 days(like right now). Right now it looks a little bit like it_s gonna rain but it hasn_t today it_s just cool. I believe right now (9/10/08) it_s 76 F. Well a lil bit of water drops this morning. But anyways like in July-September wow it can reach to the 100_s at the most. But it_s snow_s a lil in December-April well not like snow-snow but it does a little bit even in April like my birthday time!
But don_t worry it never really snow_s bad but it we_ve had a bad ice storm before like all the power went out _ school_s were closed but thankfully some people from other states came _ helped out. Some people_s power at was gone for like 2-3 days. heard as far as Louisiana or Texas people came to help!
But when it_s hot you can always go to a local community pool.
But all I can say is that you should be ready for whatever because we really never are for sure what the temperture will be since it_s plain crazy.

  • What are the best beaches in Florida for collecting shells? What attractions do you recommend?|147984

We will be staying mainly in Naples and Tampa.

  • Sanabel Island is the best area for shells.

  • Outside Tampa is a place called Shell Island. I think even the dimmest of imaginations can figure out why. I know you can catch a boat out there, but not sure where you arrange that.

In Tampa area is Tarpon Springs. A great little Greek community. Awesome food. Also, depending on your age Ybor City for good nightlife.

  • sanibel is famous for shells and not too far from naples

  • Blind Pass in Englewood, Florida. If you go down 776 going north you_ll turn left at the mc donalds ( if going south, you_ll turn right) go past the bridge till you get to the main beach. Bare left and keep down the road under the fancy trees the look like and arch way. you will eventually see parking on the right hand side. across from the parking will be the beach you want.
There is also a beach in boca Grande a small island off of Englewood down the road at the publix on 776. you can_t miss it. There is a toll at that bridge and I don_t excactly know how much it cost to go over it. Good luck though cause they are both good for shell hunting.

  • well new smyrna is the best beach for views. but as for attractions... daytona or cocoa. (those are my favs)
  • What kind of academic profile and other features are the deans and admittance at UCLA looking for?|118645

what kinds of grades are usually required, and besides grades what else is necessary? How difficult is UCLA college to get into for various majors such as Science, liberal arts etc....what kind of a school is UCLA?

  • UCLA, as a top school, can pick from the best. You need to be at the top of your class, showing top grades and test scores, extracurricular activities, and _something special_ to help you stand out from the crowd. It_s all competitive, and not too expensive, as UCLA is a public school.

  • being recently admitted into UCLA [arts college], I can tell you that they look for a well rounded student, and diverse in many subject areas. While being in a million extra curricular activities may help, they also weigh some more than others, for instance, among the ones most recognized are Academic Decathlon and Key Club, both being recognized nationwide.
And yes perfect grades and SAT scores are important but they dont guarantee your acceptance, remember that you are put against 55,000, and maybe more next year, students. And remember that you arent the only one of those that took all AP and Honors courses, that is why you must shine and be the sore thumb.

For instance you may list in your application that you were in 5, or even 20 clubs, however you probably arent the only one. So you must be diverse, again, remember that you must show these people that you will be a valuable contribution to their campus, because they want to build a strong class of _12 or _13. So they want a group of _geniuses_ and a group of diverse future business men or a culturally diverse group of physiologists. Again they weigh you against others and they want the best, so show them you are in the personal statement, so you want to be sure that it is perfect.

So dont always believe that a _5.0_ and 2400 sat scores will get you in, you are only human! Remember that they want a well rounded person to be their future alums, they want people that are unique and can give more that applicant 1 2 3 and 4 all the way to 55,000. You must show them in ur app and personal statement that you are a talented, well rounded applicant and they see that in your app, your classes and the grades uve gotten , and most of all you want to let them know that you out of the 55,000+ is as talented and that you are the shiny star among them, while you will not be the only shining star, you CAN be the few shiny math, history, science, etc...star. that will make it in with you.
Remember, ordinary people have a descent shot of getting in, but it is the extra-ordinary people that have the advantage.
    Good Luck!

  • I am boycotting UCLA. my cousin was not allowed to attend because she _didn_t meet a certain _ethnic_ criteria_ what ever the hell that means. Actually I know what it means, but i will refrain from any further comment! So i could care less about what academic profile ucla looks for. needless to say, she is an honor student at another university (which is FAR more difficult to get admitted) and will graduate in May.

  • well, when I applied as an undergrad to the engineering college back in 2002, I had a 4.0, 1410/1600 SAT (we didn_t have the 2400 yet and we had analogies), no AP classes yet, lots of speech and debate awards, leadership positions, a good essay.

    and i was from out-of-state!!

well, i took up another prestigious college, but now i work in LA building spaceships.

i_ve heard UCLA is pretty good...in physics, MBA, and probably arts since we_re in hollywood.

  • Is it easy to get around Katy during the day or is traffic really bad?|144722

I_m a stay at home mom and want to be able to get out often with my son. I don_t want to fight traffic to just get something to eat or go to the mall. How is Katy and traffic within Katy itself?

  • It really depends on what part of Katy you are referring to and what time of day, as far as traffic goes.

The Major roads - Fry and Mason - can get pretty congested during the peak driving times (before 8:30 am and after 4:30pm) on the weekdays. They can also be pretty congested during the afternoon hours on the weekends.

Katy proper, usually doesn_t have many issues with bad traffic.

As long as you avoid the above mentioned areas during the peak driving times, you shouldn_t have too much trouble getting around.

  • Traffic in and around Katy is no problem. It_s when you have you come into Houston that_s the problem. They are currently working on I-10 (runs parallel to Old Katy Road), last weekend they completely closed the road from Diary Ashford to Park Ten from Friday night late until 5:00AM Monday morning.

  • katy itself is no issue, it is just so stinkin far down I-10. if you don_t live that direction, it is the traffic on I-10 that will get you. from 630-9 and 3-7 or 8, bad traffic. you have a small time frame to get out there and do something during the week.

  • fry road can get hairy during rush hour and during saturdays and sundays but that_s about it.
  • Is there any public transportation home from Disneyland on New Years Eve?|131247

I am visiting LA over New Years to go to the Rose Bowl. My girlfriend and I are staying at the Westin Bonaventure Downtown and would like to go to Disneyland for the day on New Years Eve. We will not be renting a car, however, and I was wondering the best way to get there, and more importantly, the best way to get back after midnight if its even possible.

  • There is direct MTA express bus service between the Bonaventure hotel in Downtown LA and Disneyland on line #460 which picks up along Flower Street between 5th _ 6th every 30 minutes. The last return bus from Disneyland to Downtown LA is at 12:03 AM just after midnight every night! A one way fare is only approx $2.45 and travel time is about 1hr and 15 minutes each way. Good Luck!

  • Reality check here. I lived in LA and would not think of taking public transportation on NEW YEAR_S Eve. People in LA shoot their guns on New Years Eve. Police won_t even go in some neighborhoods that public transportation goes through on New Years Eve (well, until the shooting stops). When I lived there, on New Years Eve the police stayed under the concrete freeway overpass when people were shooting.

Be realistic. Take public transportation to Disneyland but consider spending a night at the Disneyland Hotel (or another Hotel in the vicinity) on New Years Eve.

Be safe and have a great time!

  • Yes, rent a car. A cab will cost twice what car rental will cost. There is NO public transport that runs the 35 miles from Anaheim to downtown LA late at night. The last metrolink train from OC to LA is 7:27. If you miss it, you will have to catch the last northbound Amtrak train.

Just so you know, that_s the most crowded day of the year at Disneyland.

My advice: Either stay at a hotel around Disneyland or rent a car. Public transport is not a viable option.

  • I fully agree. You do not want to be spending 2 hours in the middle of the night making your way back downtown, tired, when you can get there is less than an hour in a car.

Otherwise, take a cab to Union Station. Take the metrolink to the Anaheim station and a cab from there to Disneyland. Same on the way back.

Arrange the cabs with the concierge as LA does not allow flagging cabs.

  • You_ll be sorry! No, not the trip or the Rose Bowl, Benn there, done that and loved it. RENT A CAR. It is a must in L.A.

I lived there 31 years. Believe me, rent the damn car.

What American states/cities would be good to visit when youre going on a trip of America?|167735

Like I want to go to California, Vegas, New York, those kind of obvious ones. Though which particular cities should I go to? And which states?

  • go to the biggies like uv mentioned, then places like washington dc (white house), new orleans - gotta do the south, daytona florida - car racing, go see mount rushmore (dont know which state sorry), grand canyon (colorado), just places where there are historical sites.

  • California and New York City are musts. If you are interested in Vegas, you might also like Miami.

The Deep South has the most distinctive regional culture in the country, and some beautiful old cities. You might look into places like Charleston, Savannah, the Mississippi Delta, and New Orleans.

For national parks and natural sights, some good options are Yellowstone, Yosemite, Bryce Canyon, Grand Teton, the Black Hills, the Adirondacks, and the Everglades.

If you are interested in American history, you might want to visit Boston, Philadelphia, or Civil War sights.

  • San Francisco is really pretty also. Seattle? Boston?
  • I want to take a scenic coastal road trip next week by taking Pacific Coast Highway. I need?|167337

I need your advice/ recommendations etc. I will be starting from Long Beach and I will be going by myself. The end point would probably depend on what you think would be the best considering I will be all by myself (Will I go crazy driving for a long time with no one to talk to?). I am also on a budget. Just need to get away and scratch this solo road trip before I get married.

  • Just start early and go as far as you want and as the sun sets go find a motel room. You should make it to Monterrey if not Santa Cruz..

I have done this trip before by myself. And you put on a CD of your favorite road tunes or play them on your iPod.

  • When should I make reservations for Disney World and Discovery Cove?|115383

I_m not planning on a trip to Disney World and Discovery Cove until October of 2010, but I really have no idea as to how soon in advance I should make reservations for the two places. I don_t want to make them now as I_m not SURE that_s where we want to go, but I don_t want to wait until a month before and find out it_s too late either. How soon in advance would you suggest?

  • October is not a super, super busy time, so you don_t have to do it today. However, if you have specific hotels and dates you need, as most people do, I would still try to do it 6 months out or so. You never know what kind of conferences are going on that will fill up the hotels at odd times.
  • What vacation companies fly from OKC to Las Vegas?|114985

In the past I have used the vacation companies Allegiant Air and MLT Worry-free Vacations to book trips to Las Vegas from Oklahoma City. Now neither company flies from Oklahoma city to Vegas. Are there any other companies that will give me great deals on air and hotel packages that are easy to use?

  • Try this site. I already entered my discount code for you. See what prices you get when you enter your info. Worked great for me in the past.

  • Allegiant still flies from NW Arkansas if the drive is not too long.

  • You can find vacation packages online at Kayak.com

  • You can go through Southwest:

How long does it usually take for Disneys Magical Express to pick you up and take you to the resort?|116880

Just out of curiosity - our flight should arrive in Orlando at 10:30AM. How often does the Magical Express run to take you to the hotel? Will they be there when we arrive or will we have to wait? Also, we are staying at Saratoga Springs - about how long would it take to get there from the airport using the express?

I_m asking a million questions about this trip. :) Just like to know what_s going on!

  • Not to worry about asking a million questions about your Disney World trip. I_ve been a lot and get so excited about each trip!

I have flown to Orlando and ridden the Magical Express to WDW and NEVER had any problems. Before you arrive, you will be mailed an Airport Transportation Booklet and luggage tags ~ usually you get it about 2 weeks before your flight.

When we arrive we skip airport baggage claim and go right to the Disney Airport Welcome Center ~ it_s on Level 1, _B_ Side. Not to worry it_s easy to find. Some people stop to get their luggage and carry it on the bus. We have never had a problem with lost luggage. But be sure to have a carry on with your swim suit and any extras you may need. That way you can swim or head to Theme Parks if your room isn_t ready. Or heaven forbid if your luggage is late.

There is a line of ME busses waiting to pick you up. Climb on the one marked for your resort. It takes awhile for the bus to load and then you are on your way. I_d say the drive takes about 45 and that includes stops (no more than 4 stops) to drop guests off at their resorts.

Your luggage should arrive in about 3 hours and is left in your room. Doesn_t get any easier than that.

When you depart your resort returning to the airport :-(
~ will be notified of your ME pick-up time and location the day prior to checkout. They hang this info on your room door.
Check the time to make sure you have 3+ hours ~ the bus can make multiple stops and there are delays as luggage is loaded at other Resorts. You certainly do not want to be late arriving at the airport.

Check this site for Magical Express info and other WDW info as well ~

Have a Magical Holiday and Pixie Dust to you!

  • You will go to the Disney Magical Express location in Orlando Airport - if memory serves it is lower level side B - it will be noted or just ask as you leave the plane. You check in and board the bus designated for your resort and you may sit for a brief time waiting for more bus passengers. From start to finish it is about an hour and you are at your resort. Time flys! The bus is comfortable and videos play for the ride.

  • The ride itself is about 30minutes long.
How long you will wait for the bus depends on
what time of day it is and how many guests are waiting for the bus
and where the bus is on route.

Not all the ME buses go to SS. Each ME bus hits about 3 disney resorts. so it will just depend on where it is on its route.
I have walked right on to my bus and I have waited 30 minutes for it.

  • Once you get off the plane, you will go directly to the airport_s monorail/subway to terminal B. From there, you take the escalator to level 1. You then go to Disney_s Magical Express Welcome Center and show them your Magical Express booklet that Disney sends you in the mail about 2 weeks before your vacation. After that, you will go into the Saratoga Springs queue and wait for them show you to the correct bus. This process can take up to about 30 minutes or so. There are several Magical Express buses in the parking lot boarding the guests since they are already aware of your flight times, so most likely the bus will be there waiting for you. Once you_re on the bus, the ride from the airport to the hotel can take about 25 min to about 40 min depending on whether you are the first hotel stop or the last since they drop other guests off at different hotels. NOTE: The Magical Express gets your luggage for you and drops it off your hotel room, but that can take up to 3 hours, so if you need to get something before then (ie: bathing suit, toothbrush, etc), then you need to carry it on the plane....So, since your plane lands at 10:30 am, then I think it would be safe to say you will be at your hotel by noon. This is really a great thing Disney has been offering the last few years...it saves a lot of money and it_s a lot of fun too! Here_s Disney_s link for more info
    http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts

  • You may have a bit of a wait, but if you do it shouldn_t be long. My brother and sister-in-law just did a WDW trip in late June and said they had to wait for maybe 10 minutes. It_s a heck of a lot better than it used to be when Mears Motor Coaches was the big outfit transporting people to and from WDW. You_d have to wait for an hour (sometimes two) just to get transportation to your resort, and they usually crammed you into a van. Not nearly as comfortable as the Magical Express Bus.

It takes about 20 minutes to get from Orlando International Airport to WDW property, but you have to bear in mind that the bus may drop people off at other resorts before dropping you off at Saratoga Springs. At most, you_re looking at around 45 minutes from the time you leave to the time you_re dropped off at Saratoga Springs.

As for going back to the airport, don_t sweat that. They_ll ask you what day you_re leaving and what time your flight departs, and they_ll make sure they have someone there to pick you up and deliver you to the airport with plenty of time to check in, go through security, etc.

  • After you get off the plane, head directly downstairs and walk all the way to the left side of the terminal. You will check in with your Magical Express vouchers you receive in the mail at least 2 weeks before your flight. If you don_t have those vouches, you will not get on the bus so make sure you bring them with you for both trips.

After checking in, they will put you in a line specifically for your resort. It depends on the time of year and the time of day you_re going for how long you will have to wait for the bus. Being that you have a morning flight, you shouldn_t have to wait longer than 10-20 minutes. One time we arrived at 9 AM a literally were on the bus within 5 minutes.

On the bus, there will not only be guests from your resort. Any Magical Express bus can make up to 3 resort stops, it_s kind of luck of the draw if your resort is first. Usually they will only drop off guests with hotels that are close to one another. The ride from the airport to Disney property alone could last to about 30 minutes if you_re the first stop.

Also, don_t forget to tip the Magical Express driver.
