Is the Centerpoint Energy Plaza building in downtown Houston have an observatory in its upper floors?|181274

I would like to go to the upper floors of a really tall building, but most buildings don_t permit this after Sept. 11, 2001. I live within driving distance of downtown Houston and have heard that Centerpoint Energy Plaza building has a restaurant way up there. Does anyone know anything about this building? If not, does anyone know of an alternative building? I want this mainly for sightseeing at night.

  • The JP Morgan Chase building has an observation deck on the 60th floor. It_s the tallest building in Texas too, with 75 floors.

The observation deck is only open during working hours though, so Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM. Be sure to check out the downtown tunnels too while you_re at it.
  • What is the best dinner and show to go and see at disney world?|156157

My Children and i are going in May of 2008, my kids are going to be 3 _ 6, I will also have my nephew he will be 2. What is a good one to take them too?

  • Sleuths Mystery Dinner Show is the best in Orlando.. it isn_t at Disney but it_s close.

    http://www.orlandofloridasucks.com

  • The luau at the Polynesian.

  • You_ve heard of Epcot center there for the young and old. There is something in there for everyone ,beautiful
restaurants, and shows. At these ages it_s hard to suggest
as they get frightened by so much fast moving objects.

  • For the dinner shows make sure to make reservations in advance, they can be hard to get in to!

My personal favorite would be the Hoop-De-Doo Revue, which is at the Fort Wilderness Campground. Theres lots of singing and the people come out to your table and ask questions and various things so its very interactive. The best seats are downstairs so you can have a better chance of them coming to your table, but upstairs is a good view as well. One time when I went we were sat at a table in the far back by the doors which was where the Disney Executives sometimes eat when they come and several of the people in the show came over to our table, it was really nice. They serve Fried Chicken, Ribs, and other American food and delicious Strawberry Shortcake for dessert!

Another popular dinner show (that I havn_t been to, sadly) is the Spirit of Aloha Dinner show, which is a polynesian Luau with with music and dancing. They serve an all-you-can-eat feast inspired by polynesian culture. The show features hula dancers, fire twirlers, and more! Its located at the Disney_s Polynesian Resort, which is a really nice place to visit.

  • I_ve never been but the Hoop Dee Do Review is one of the best dinner shows at Disney. I hear it_s hard to get reservations so you have to make sure you get them well in advance.

  • Mickey_s Backyard Barbecue, they can dance with the characters and have a general blast, my son loves it to this day and he is 15.

  • Definitely the Hoop De Doo and request to be seated downstairs - much easier to see and be a part of the action. Enjoy!

  • Straw-Berry Shortcake!!!

    Hoop De DOO

  • do not do the hoop-dee-doo musical revue i think this is more geared to older kids or teens and adults we went last year and our kids were 7 and 11 and nephew was 6 or kids liked it except the 11 year old but i think they would of enjoyed it more if their was disney characters their this is what i thought when i made reservations this year were going to mickey_s backyard barbecue so we can be with the characters well i hope you have a good time

  • My goodness, well of course you_ll have to go to chef mickey_s character dinner! They have very good prime rib, _ your children will LOVE the character dinner!! I highly suggest you DONT take them to the woopty doo review or whatever. I went there _ it was just a disaster! The food was HORRIBLE. As if they just re-heated some microwave dinners _ food on the bone, _ just very dissapointing overall. The show was HORRIBLE!! My family _ I hated the atmosphere as well, it_s very olden day like. So I wouldnt suggest you go there unless you like to wait a long time, with a reservation, _ get horribe food _ a bad show.

My opinion- Chef mickey_s or any character dinner is perfect. They have that time where the kids get up _ walk around the restaurant to the beat of mickey toons. Ultimate place to eat on vacation! Have a great vacation! Hope this helped :)

  • The Hoop Dee Doo Review is by far the best because you_re in an enclosed space with lots of air conditioning and the staff enjoys working with young children. There_s lots of singing and dancing, and the food -- fried chicken, for example -- is the sort of thing that kids will actually eat.

  • What is the halfway point between tampa Fl and philadelphia pa?|133794

I am looking for a hotel at the halfway point while driving this summer.

  • Total Distance - 1035 miles

    Halfway is 517.5 miles

Fayetteville, NC is 586 miles from Tampa and is right off the interstate. I would try around there.

  • Lumberton, NC and Dillon, SC have hotels and decent places to eat.

  • which route, 95 or 81 to 75?
  • How long does it take to get from DC to Vegas?|131703

I know AMTRAK trains don_t go directly, so I would probably have to take multiple trains. But how long would that take. Thanks and best regards.

  • You answer can be gotten from AmTrak

This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America.
Please pick an answer as the best answer, even if it is not mine.

  • Your best bet is to look on Amtrak_s website. They will give you a time quote, depending on what route you take, and when it leaves, etc.

However, as someone who has traveled on their trains extensively, let me warn you - they are always delayed. You will almost certainly miss any connections you have, and will most likely get to Vegas much later than you planned on, so build in some extra time to your trip, at both ends.

Also, it may very well end up being as expensive as flying. Just something to keep in mind.

  • I think 2-3 days.
  • Where are the best neighborhoods to rent in for a young, professional reasonably close to downtown Dallas?|157487

As a straight male, I_m looking for an exciting, diverse atmosphere and a safe apartment without having to pay an exorbitant amount of money.

  • The Village Apts. off of Greenville are not too far north of downtown, and are reasonable.
Untown is closest but probably more expensive.
If you can drive north of LBJ you can find cheaper places.
Stay away from Oak Lawn area.

  • What are some fun things to do in Philadelphia with a toddler? Also, what are some nice family restaurants?|102388

I already plan on checking out the zoo and Fairmont Park, Franklin Square and the Betsy Ross house. We are going on October and my daughter will be almost three.Free or inexpensive would be great.

  • General Info:

The Art Museum is free on Sundays, although I don_t know how willing you_d be to go with a toddler. It_s still a nice enough place to hang out on the outside and appreciate the weather. As a matter of fact, I believe all museums in Philadelphia are free on Sundays.

You may want to check on the status of the old Please Touch Museum (open or not). They_re building a new one out at Memorial Hall in Fairmount Park, but its not scheduled to open until October...I_m guessing that the old one will stay open for at least a little while until they have to start moving exhibits, but maybe you_ll catch the opening.

That_d be nice...the first ones in the Please Touch Museum (could you imagine what it_s like in there during flu season, 10-15 years after it_s opened? yuck)

Check on the Franklin Institute as well. There are plenty of things for kids to get into, and they sometimes have special exhibits...I think Star Wars just finished up...not sure what_s next.

In terms of restaurants, there are a ton of options in the city. For something most likely inexpensive and toddler friendly, there_s the Spaghetti Warehouse on 10th-ish and Spring Garden. Brunch is always nice too...you can_t walk two blocks in this city without tripping over a brunch spot. Many of the bars have them as well, and as I_m sure you know, all of the bars are non-smoking now. That first link in here should have more restaurant ideas though.

If you_re driving, you could check into Longwood Gardens. It_s a good 30-45 minute drive outside of Philly (not difficult though) and is always displaying something seasonal...I wonder if it_d be too early to catch the beginnings of the Christmas Lights?

Across the Delaware River (by PATCO high speed line from The Gallery or by Ferry at Penn_s Landing) is the Aquarium and Battleship New Jersey. I imagine a 3 year old will have more fun with the aquarium though.

    Good luck and have fun.

  • You should definitely check out the Please Touch Museum. It_s located in Center City, within walking distance of the Franklin Institute and Academy of Natural Sciences. It_s got tons of hands-on activities for children. My 3 kids had a blast there last year. I believe admission was $10.

    http://www.pleasetouchmuseum.org/

The zoo is great - definitely check it out.

We_re always visiting family in Philly, so I don_t have any ideas for restaurants. We rarely go out there.

  • You have most of the bases covered. The Art Museum is nice, but not for a 3 year old. You may really want to go over to the Adventure Aquarium. It is very accessible via public transportation, and there is a Ferry that takes you over to NJ and it_s a short walk to the Aquarium. If your daughter has seen _Finding Nemo_ she is going to love the Aquarium...so will you!!

  • You can go to the Zoo, or the Please Touch Museum, I_m pretty sure the Franklin Institute has an area for toddlers. I can_t really think of any family restaurants sorry.

  • Hi, I live in Philadelphia _ I have a son that is about to turn 3, so I can tell you from my own experiences. I say definitely Yes to the Please Touch Museum. It has a lot for young kids. Franklin Square is a nice park. Its small but it has a playground _ a merry-go-round(costs a few bucks). Also if you want to see some of the sights in Philadelphia then you can try a short walking tour _ bring a light stroller or else try _Ride the Ducks_. That is a open topped bus-boat that shows you the sights _ goes in the river, plus they give everyone quackers(noise makers). The zoo is nice, but I would only go if the weather is nice. My son actually wanted to run around more than look at animals, lol. Adventure Aquarium is nice too. That is in Camden right across the river. You can get the ferry at Penn_s Landing. But just to let you know the Zoo _ the Aquarium aren_t so cheap, so get coupons online. Also if you want to see the famous Art Museum, then go _ help your daughter run up the stairs, but just dont go inside, too boring for a kid. Sesame place is a half hour from Philly, if you can find public transportation it is nice for toddlers, but more in summer. Have fun :)
  • Where can I find San Francisco ordinances online concerning garbage disposal?|182695

The issue I am trying to research is: if a house is for sale and no lives there, is there still as requirement to pay for garbage pickup? I want to see the actual ordinance before I call the garbage co. (who insists that there must be garbage collection). Thanks. If you can provide a link, thanks.

  • Most all municipalities in California require garbage pick up at homes, occupied or not.

If you have enough know how as to be able to post a question here, you should be able to look up the specific ordinance for San Francisco, as they post all that stuff online now.
