What are some towns in Colorado that it is usually just rainy and not snowy?|170769

I love the rain and freezing cold weather but not such a big fan of snow. It_s okay and I would be fine with It but I prefer rain.

Do you know any towns in Colorado that it_s usually cold and rainy?
Please help. It would be greatly appreciated. (:

  • I lived there for 10 years and it hardly ever rains.. anywhere... maybe in the summer sometimes in the afternoon, but no there aren_t any towns there that have that type of weather- you_d want Oregon or Washington state.

  • None. On the eastern plains there is far less snow...but it it semi-arid, and there is no rain either. In the mountains and along the front ran it rains sometimes and in the winter you may have a lot of snow or a little...varies year to year. The LAST thing you want in Colorado is freezing rain and black ice on the highways and streets. Driving in snow is a picnic compared to driving on black ice.

  • What is the cheapest way to vacation in Orlando and go to Walt Disney World?|112790

On a tight budget but want to go to Walt Disney World in Orlando what is least expensive way to go but have a nice time?

  • Firstly where are you from? (UK, USA, etc)
Are you wanting to stay onsight at Disney? Do you want to go to Universal and others as well? Do you have a flexable date?

Depending on what sort of ticket you buy depends on the price. Remember to shop around and look out for the best deals. I am from UK and shopped around and managed to find an old web page from Disney Orlando Ticket deals that had a two-week Disney park hopper. So, I got 6 tickets for our family - with one ticket costing the equivalent to 3 days! So in short I got it for 80 - not sure what the exact exchange rate for dollars is - maybe about $100, but you_ll have to check. Always be on the lookout for the tickets. If you don_t feel confident about a website, but it does have cheap tickets, go on a reliable website and it you should be able to contact them and quote them the price you_ve found and they will sell you the tickets at that price. That_s what I_ve done before.

Fastpasses are completely free. The ticket you use to enter the park is the ticket you will use to get your fastpasses. Selected rides have a fastpass option - often the most busiest or thrill rides! On your map it will have a little FP symbol by it meaning this ride has a fastpass option. Go to the ride of your choice and nearby will be the fastpass booths. Insert your ticket and you will get a fastpass printed. But, beware, you can_t get another fastpass for an hour. Then return to the ride at the time given and queue in the fastpass queue. The tickets are slightly different to Universal. Universal charge for their tickets and you can_t get another fastpass until the time on the other ticket is up - i.e. if you get a Universal fastpass at 10am and get a fastpass ticket telling you to return at 6pm, you can_t get another fastpass until 6pm.

The best sort of time to go is in November. If you go in the summer the weather won_t be that great. It_s usually hot, sticky and humid even in the thunderstorms! About 4pm onwards the thunderstorms strike and can last for ages. Very heavy rain, lots of lightning and loud thunder. In the morning it_s slightly cooler and the sun is out for a while. November is cooler and the queues are a lot shorter. The parks aren_t open for as long but the emptiness of the park makes up for that and you should be able to do everything within that time.

You may have to stay quite a bit out and catch buses to the parks, or sometimes the hotels offer transport services to Disney. Buena Vista Resort does and isn_t to expensive. Or Holiday Inn would be a bit cheaper.

There are many cheap places to eat. BIG TIP: Take your own food with you to the parks. Make some sandwiches and take packets of crisps (or I mean chips for Americans) and bottles of drinks for your lunch. It is very expensive to buy food and drink in the park - on average costing $30 a day! Your hotel may include breakfast and dinner - if not go to Publix and buy the essentials. Sizzler and Ponderosa are brilliant cheap places to eat for breakfast and dinner. Beef _O Grady_s is also a nice cheap place to eat.

Walmart and Publix sell Disney Souvenirs for a fraction of the price. Also, try going to the shopping outlets, where there are Disney shops with a year long sale on. In Downtown Disney there is a shop with gifts for under $10. You can_t go wrong.

Make sure you buy simple Disney tickets without all the unneeded extras. You may not want to buy the Disney quest tickets and waterpark tickets as they cost extra and are not as good as the four main parks: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, MGM Studios and Animal Kingdom. These are really fantastic parks and are lots of fun!

I_ve been countless times and loved every single second. Going to Disney on a budget is tough, but you should be able as long as you don_t go wild and spend lots of unnecesseries then you may be alright.

Get saving! You should be able to swing it. But good luck and I hope you and your family have a fantastic trip! Let me know how you get on. The Disney website has a few deals and info. Send off for the free Disney planning DVD. At the moment the Disney website has a free meal deals offer with certain hotel_s. It_s worth a look.

Email me if you have any other questions. Hope this helps :-)

  • There_s some good advice here-- but I_m going to take a different approach. Going to WDW is like painting. The fun is in putting the color on the wall. BUt the quality of the job is determined by your prep work.
THe cheapest way to go to WDW is to PLAN. Know what you want to accomplish. What do you want your memories to be?
Think about this-- and then decide what you want to do. And remember-- you can_t do it all. You are going to have to pick and choose. Don_t forget to include down time in your plan. WDW is exhausting, and you need some time back at your hotel just to recharge your batteries. This is true for all ages- but especially kids.
You also should be careful about burning the candle at both ends. Doing the evening shows, and then getting up to go to the parks is tough.

Once you have decided what you want to do, put together a plan. Then, add your meals. How many table service meals do you want? How many Quick meals do you want? If you are 90 days before your trip, you can call and get the reservations, and probably be successful getting them. Table service reservations will be harder to get if you are less than 90 days out.

Now that all that is done, you can decide what you ticket packages you want. Buy only the number of ticket days your plan requires. Buy only the type of ticket your plan requires. No sense adding water parks and more if you aren_t doing those extras at least twice. THat will save you $100 per ticket right there. No sense getting the dining plan if you aren_t eating in Table service restaurants, or if you simply can_t get into any because your trip is too close. Nothing more expensive that buying the dining plan, and then not being able to use it!

If you do all this, go during value season, and stay in a value resort -- you will be spending the least amount possible and still stay on property.
If you are over 4 people, you will need to stay in a moderate resort, or consider off property. If you go off property, you will need to rent a car, and pay to park ($12) so be sure to add this into the budget.

  • Staying on site with WDW is expensive. It is the easiest way, but the most expensive. One of the cheapest way is to rent a house there and then drive to the park. There are tons of houses for rent.

We rented a 3 bedroom with private pool for a week at $595. It was only around 10 mins to WDW. Plus we were able to eat breakfast and most dinners there. It was great to get up at 7:00 am and the kids would jump in the pool, just 10 feet from the back door.

We have also stayed on site. It was nice, but the rooms are SMALL. The only advantage of being on site is that you don_t really need a car and that on some days, you can get into the parks early - which is important if you are going during peak seasons.

The cheapest and we have found the BEST time to go is in November or early Dec. The weather is very very nice. There are NO lines. We were able to do a ride, get off and go ride back on it again. Plus everything is cheaper, including great 2 days for the price of one.

  • We brought a lot of our own food. It may seem silly for some, but it was just my husband and I and we are not picky. We also swung by a grocery store when we got there and picked up some items. I guess next time I would have groceries delivered from Garden Grocer, mainly because all airlines seem to be charging for all bags, so there goes a lot of the savings. But we had peanut butter or jelly toast for breakfast, we made deli meat sandwiches for our lunches _ brought apples and chips etc. We had frozen ice packs that kept our food _ drinks cold until lunch, and stored them at the lockers at the front of the parks. Then for dinner I had found microwaveable meals that you store in your cupboards, then we just used the food court microwave at our hotels. I know this way doesn_t work for a lot of people, but we found it was the only way we could have gone and we still really enjoyed ourselves.

  • to be honest it will all depend on the time you want to go. If you are available to go sometime between Aug 15th - Oct 3rd you can enjoy Disney free dining special. We figured it out that for a family of 4 staying at a value resort would be around 2010. That will include food a 7 day water park and fun more/park Hopper. You can lower the rate by giving up the water park option or park hopper option. This is the lowest that I have found the rates to be. When you consider the average price for this deal will run you close to 3000. Check out Disney_s web site for more information. Remember that Disney picks you up at the airport so that saves you about 125 for transportation to a hotel. Plus you get to stay on-site. We always stay off site but this deal came out a lot cheaper for us, then staying off and buying our own food.

  • A. You can rent a hotel off-site, like Day_s Inn or the same for around $50 per night. Probably lower in the off-season. They are less than 5-10 min from Magic Kingdom. Last year me and my fiancee made the mistake of staying at the Wilderness Lodge resort. The price was around $400 per night. The money is not worth it, honestly. It is still just a room, and a small one at that. They are not decorated with expensive paintings, gold-stitched sheets, there is no wait-on-you-hand-and-foot staff. The only benefit is getting the extra park hours, which I think are an extra hour.

  • the theme park tickets are expensive no matter what. however, you can definitely save a lot of money on flights and hotels very easily... there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://bookme.com/vacations.php and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it_s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.

  • Honey go to Disney online and get their free video. This will tell you everything you want to know. I_ve been there five times and dearly love it. The cheapest place to stay is their All Star Resorts (Movie, Music or Sports). They are the cutest places to stay and the most reasonable. It_s up to you how much you spend.

  • Volunteer to go thru a timeshare pitch - they are really low pressure nowadays _ only last about 1 hour. You_ll stand in line for rides for longer than that!

You can get 3 days 2 nights at a nice hotel for just $199 for a family of 4, PLUS 2 free adult tickets - check out the site below for a good package deal - good luck!

  • If you are a member of Costco they have a bunch of stuff. That_s what we are doing and got a 2 bedroom condo with 5-day hopper pass for four people for $1,890

  • make sure you also watch your latest episode of goon city tv on youtube before you come

  • You should look into it at the Disney website. They have some great deals right now. www.disneyworld.com/affordable
  • What is the weather like in Las Vegas in the middle of February?|180988

I am planning a trip to Vegas in February and wanted to know what the weather may be like during this time.

  • Right now in Vegas it_s low 70_s - mid 80_s, spring weather. Light clothing for days and evenings, bring a light sweater just in case the winds pick up - but overall it_s beautiful out there, practically perfect weather.

  • i was in vegas this past february for work, it was in the 60_s the entire time. vegas might be in the desert, but it still gets cold in the winter.

  • February of 2008??? Its mainly in the 80s...let_s just say its hot almost all year round.

  • The weather in February is in the 50_s and 60_s. It gets cold in Vegas in the winter.

  • What is the best place to purchase used fine art photography books in New York City?|151661

I am traveling to NYC and I am wondering if there is a best place to find used fine art photography books or books on photography theory?

  • Strand Book Store on lower Broadway, near 10th Street, in the Village.

They have a great art book section, including photography.

Also, the bookstore at the Museum of Modern Art. They have a good photography section, if I remember correctly.

And you might try the bookstore at the Museum for the International Center of Photography on 6th Avenue (that_s Avenue of the Americas if you are from out of town) somewhere in the West 40s.

    EDIT:

I just realized that you said _used_. Well, if that_s the case, definitely go to the Strand. They have both used and new, and their used fine arts books are fantastic!!!!

The other two places I mentioned only sell new books. But the Strand is definitely what you want!
  • What is the best thing to do when you live in a small town, and it is a Saturday?|163052

I live in a small town, Circleville, Ohio!!! It really does suck when there is nothing to do, and it is a Satuday night! I_m a fun-seeker,and I really think I should move to the big city, but what do I do until then?

  • I live in Ohio too, I live in Geneva (Ashtabula county) What major city is Circleville close by? Try travelling to another city and I am sure you will find something. I live somewhat close (50 miles) to Cleveland.

You live close to Columbus, there are a lot of things to do there, and I am sure they have a night life since it is a college town.

  • Organize something, like a last minute pot-luck. I_m sure there R other people like U, who would appreciate the effort. Check out Meet-up.com , there R so many nice groups that U can join in and around your area. If there isn_t one U like, get one together. It around 12 bucks to become a member. U can have fun even in a small town, remember it is up to U to create your own fun! Good Luck!

  • Pray for Monday- cause Sunday ain_t no better.

  • go 2 the lake

  • see if there are any _local_ concerts around, or go catch a movie with friends

  • Check the newspaper for events going on in your town or others near by. You might find some interesting things to do.
  • What is the best miami hotel pool?|137163

I_m planning on traveling to miami soon and I want a hotel that isn_t incredibly expensive (no more than 250-300 a night) that has a great pool. I_m going to spend a lot of time next to it and I want something nice, but as secluded as possible. Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks!

  • I_ve got your place.

The Palms Hotel South Beach; www.thepalmshotel.com

    Others:
Loews Miami Beach- nice pool but not secluded
Trump Sonesta Beach Resort- 4th Floor pool, outdoors, next to cabanas, overlooking ocean
Ritz-Carlton South Beach- Really nice, but might be too pricey
Raleigh Hotel South Beach- Nice, and secluded
National Hotel South Beach- Nice, and secluded
Doral Golf Resort and Spa- Several Pools, including one at the spa building, available to all adult guests. Super nice and quiet. The spa there is nice too, and so is the golf.

  • __ but as secluded as possible __

If that_s your priority I would go to Key Biscayne.
