How much would it cost for a weeks vacation in key west florida?|143231

next summer me and my friends are planning on going.
how much estimate do you think we need to each save for a decent hotel, food, and other things for a week. (full 7 days, 6 nights)
it would be around 4 or 5 people.

  • there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely show you great hotels at the best prices available. check out the website BookMe and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it_s very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
  • Is it true that there are neighborhoods in arizona with community pools?|152571

Also community golf courses, Jacuzzis and tennis courts. My friend moved to Glendale, Arizona and this seems unreal compared to my neighborhood in foxboro, mass with no neighborhood activities. Does anybody live in Arizona in one of these neighborhoods or visit family or friends in one of these communities.

  • Absolutely. There are a lot of them in Arizona actually.

I almost moved into a community like that. It just looks like any normal neighborhood but there are community pools, playgrounds, golf courses, etc.

  • North carolina golf community _ nc golf course profiles and listings here at
    http://www.ncgolfers.com/north

  • Yes, most neighborhoods I_ve seen in AZ have all those ammenities.

  • yes its true, alot of these towns outside of phoenix are expanding fast. It depends what community you live in. it could be a huge apartment complex or a huge housing community where there are several parks and a pool or two.

    I lived in Mesa

Its not all thats it hyped up to be, its nice dont get me wrong but like were we live (i live in chicago) we have the woods or even the lake and park to go to. We have good reliable public transportation.

public trans. sucks over there, the parks suck because you can only hang out at night or 6 months of the year cause the other six everything in the park is HOT AS HECK.

I lived in one community that had a pool and it was cool.

  • I_d say probably more than half of them now ... check out Chandler, Awhatukee, Surprise, Queen Creek, Anthem ...

  • There are many apartment complexes that have a swimming pool in the middle. But, I don_t think that it is a popular thing that many people are using it. I don_t think it is popular at all... But, I haven_t lived in many other apartments, so I can_t say that about them. But, I know for the 3 different apartments that I have lived in before, nobody uses the pool much at all..

  • careful what pool you swim in in PHX
1000 of babys drown in pools every year there.
lot stupid people in PHX. crackheads

  • Yeah they have community pools, but you have to pay an association fee to use all that stuff....its good if you use it, but not good if you dont.

  • The new communities (in Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, Anthem, and in growing cities in the east valley) do as far as golf, tennis, and parks. Mostly everyone has their own pool in their back yard.

  • Yes it_s true. Different developments have pools but not all. Good to investigate if U_re look_g for 1 w/ a pool. Also good to look in an area close to work since the traffic has gotten worse w/ more people moving here.
I was born here _ it_s amazing how many people have moved here in the last 14 yrs.

  • Yes its real. The pictures of AZ you see arent doctored. Its really true and beautiful.
  • How does the train/subway system work in Boston?|125070

I_m new to Boston and not really sure how the train system works. Can someone please explain what people mean when they say _red line, orange line, green line and blue line_? Also, if I were to commute to Boston everyday, what would be the cheapest option for me? I mean is there a monthly pass that I could purchase? Thank you in advance for your replies.

  • There are monthly passes available and for frequent riders the cheaper option. The different lines are color coded, with _purple_ being the commuter rail system that connects some outlying towns to Boston. Your best bet to start familiarizing yourself with _what goes where_ would be to examine this map:
    http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/s
All the lines interconnect at different places so you may ride more than one or a combination of bus, subway and/or trolley (light-rail). The Green Line is a trolley or light-rail line. Blue, Orange and Red lines are heavy-rail _subway_ type vehicles (with the exception of a short portion of the Red Line from Ashmont to Mattapan that is a trolley line using _heritage_ PCC trolleys). The Silver Line is _Bus Rapid Transit_ (although it_s design doesn_t allow it to be as rapid as it should be, but I digress...).

In general, Red line tends to be Southeasterly to Northwesterly. Blue line is downtown/northeasterly. Orange line tends to be north/south, and the Green line tends to be downtown/westerly. Commuter rail is a subject unto itself.

Just some _for instances_ Fenway Park = Green Line. Harvard University = Red Line, Logan Airport = Blue Line or Silver Line. TD Bank Garden = Green, Orange, or _North side_ commuter rail.

Beware of the _T__s website _trip planner_. It can come up with some really bizarre routings sometimes!

  • Red line goes south of the city
Orange goes North to South from Malden to South of the city
Blue connects the airport, waterfront and ends in Revere along the shore.
Green Line has separate lines A-E that split off the green line goes through back bay and towards roxbury others like the B-line go to BC which is west in Chesnut Hill.
Purple line connects all other points as far west as worcester, north as gloucester, and south as the cape.

Passes start at $59/ month but i think that doesn_t include the purple which is the commuter rail. Individual rides are 1.70 and will probaply go up it is around 5 for the commuter rail depending on the zone

  • Neither of the two previous Answerers tell you that there are also the Purple Lines, which is the commuter rail system. It is the 4th most extensive in the USA after N.Y.C., Chicago and Philly. And of course there is also the bus system. You can get a pass for only the bus system, or the bus and subway plus the silver line; any Purple Line pass allows you to ride the buses and subways also. .

  • I used to live in Boston.. so, here goes..

Red Line.. goes pretty much everywhere... and Fenway park... and fanuel hall... places like that...
Blue Line... aquarium and some places near the harbor
Green line.. science museum and that part of the city... its the oldest line...
orange line.. dunno where that one goes, never had to ride it...
and the purple is the commuter rail that runs to different cities..

basically.. the colors just make it easier to get where you want to go.. if u have a general idea

there are maps EVERYWHERE! It_s pretty hard to get lost... and people are more than happy to help you..

You can purchase monthly passes... that all gets sort of confusing.. the cheapest way to commute would probably be the commuter rail... Im not sure though, because it depends on where you are commuting from...

Hope I could help a little!

  • Well, the _lines_ are different subway routes
Red: longest line. services Cambridge and South Boston, as well as downtown
Green: services Boston areas on the Charles River, but extends 20 miles West of Boston
Blue: services airport and surrounding areas, East of Boston, but enters the city and ends downtown.
Orange: services areas NE of Boston, north end, downtown/chinatown, Roxbury.

  • agreed with the above answers but nobodys mentioned the silver line... i think it goes around the airport but i dont have to use that one much. Basically find a T station, the ones that say INBOUND go towards boston, the ones that say OUTBOUND go out... look at the maps in the station and if you dont have to make a transfer look for the last stop on that train and board the train that says to (whatever stop it was). If you need any help just ask anybody and im sure theyd be happy to help!! good luck in boston
  • Best place to stay in disney world for 20th birthday?|108639

This october for my 20th birthday me and a few friends are planning on going to disney world and want to stay at one of the resorts. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good moderate price hotel, and anything else to do that_s off the disney grounds but not too far.

  • OMG stay at the Port Orleans Resort. My family and I have been there twice and we never go to any other resort. It really is beautiful there and the past two times I have gone, there were hardly any people there so it was also peaceful not having little kids run around everywhere and keeping you up all night. Hope this helps. Have Fun!!

  • I agree with Aaron--Port Orleans is a great moderately-priced resort. There are actually two Port Orleans hotels--Riverside and French Quarter. Both are very different, with Riverside representing more of a laid-back part of LA and French Quarter resembling the real French Quarter. It depends on your taste. They also have a small marina at Riverside where you can rent little electric boats (which are very fun and fit 2 people), paddle boats and canoes. You can also rent bikes (regular and Surrey--both very enjoyable) at Riverside and ride around the grounds (it takes about half an hour to cover both hotels, although only the regular bikes are allowed on the French Quarter grounds). I_d definitely recommend this either of these hotels.
  • What is the best island to stay at in Hawaii?|106256

I am having a hard time narrowing it down to staying at a certain island in Hawaii. There is so much research to do and I just wanted a little help. Does anyone know which one has more activities or just the best island overall?

  • I agree Oahu has it all, it is lovely _ has something for everyone, a little piece of all the islands! If you need a good deal on a hotel there, try using a corporate room broker - you can get the best deals there.

This site has an Oahu package good for 2 adults _ 2 kids for 5 days but you can add extra people _ extra days if you need to. I_ve used this package before myself _ the resorts they offer are always 4 star _ very nice. There is no sales pitch or blackout dates.

Also if you go, there is a really nice diving spot in Waikikki area called AquaZone diving nearby offers a free scuba lesson! Good luck _ Aloha!

  • If you are first time traveler, then just Oahu( Honolulu), the most Beautiful island with nice beaches are in Maui, if you like volcano and something wild, the big island, if you like canyon, then go Li hue.
