Best places to stay and attractions in Vermont?|131665

We_re planning to visit the Burlington area in Vermont and would like some suggestions on where to stay. I don_t necessarily like fancy resorts and I want someplace with great views of nature. Possibly a nice B_B or farm stay? Anyone stayed someplace nice in Vermont and have reviews?

  • if you_re staying in burlington there are a bunch of hotel chains which would be fine--the views of nature are all over town (lake champlain and the adirondack/green mountains are visible from anywhere in town)...most of the B_B_s are further from burlington in the smaller towns like stowe, jay and killington area...but you_ll have views of nature no matter where you are in VT so no need to stress over that...and any B_B literally will be nice, i_ve never stayed at a bad one..
  • How should I plan a senior trip to Disney World?|159271

Me and my friends to Disney World for graduation. We want to fly but we don_t know what airline to take and we are going to stay in a value resort but we don_t know which one.We are thinking about the meal plain. But we don_t want to spend a lot of money and we want to have fun for are last summer together. If you have anything let me know.

  • Rooms:
Depending on what everyone_s plans for fall are, it would be cheapest to go after August 15. Summer value room rates drop from $119 to $82 per night on that date. Other benefits are that there will be fewer crowds (many schools, including Florida, start then). Disney may also have some good offers for that time, like free dining. For booking, your best bet would be to book right though the Disney site. They have good cancelation policys and if an offer comes out, they will adjust the price of your trip (you will have to call them). Their current free gift card or 35% off room offer ends on 6/3. You have to book by 3/17, so that is about the time they will advertise new offers. Most offers require a package purchase that includes room and park tickets.

    Dining:
I like the dining plan. My family always uses it. You can really come out ahead and it is also helpful to have it paid for ahead of time (for budgeting). If you don_t want to do sit-down dining, they have a quick service dining plan (QS). It costs 31.99 per day of your stay (if you book 5 nights, you will be charged 31.99 * 5 per person). The QS includes 2 quick service meals and 2 snacks per day. You will also get a refillable mug and you can fill at your resort as many times as you want throughout the trip. The regular dining plan costs 47.99 (6/4 - 8/14) or 41.99 (8/15 - 12/17). With that, you get 1 table service, 1 quick service meal, and 1 snack per day. Reservations for table service meals can be made up to 180 days in advance of your check-in date. Everyone on the reservation must be on the same plan.

Book your flights on your own. Make sure you sign up for Magical Express. This is a free service from Disney that will pick you up at the airport and drop you off again at the end of your trip. Book your flight into Orlando airport (MCO). You can add the flight times to your reservation for magical express later.

If you have 8 or more people going, you can do a _grand gathering_. Disney has special planning services available for that. Call (407) 934-7639 for more information.

  • Airline - Delta
Resort - The value resorts are all by theme. Movies, Music, Sports, Pop Culture. Pick the one you like. All the rooms will be the same.
Meal Plan - You can eat a lot cheaper on your own than you can with the meal plan. If the room doesn_t have a fridge, buy a cheap cooler and go to the grocery store for breakfast food and snacks and drinks. There are two right outside the gates of Downtown Disney. Pay for one good meal a day and you_ll be fine. You can also get to Downtown Disney on the shuttle bus and eat at McDonald_s or walk just outside the gate of Downtown Disney to several other fast food restaurants.

  • My friends and I are doing this very trip May 29-June 5 this year. We are all graduating seniors and have already booked everything but the plane.

We are staying at the Pop Century resort. We bought six-day park hoppers with the water park option, and we did purchase the meal plan (the one snack, one counter-service, one sit-down version).

With the hotel, the park tickets, and the meal plan, our total for each 18-year-old was around $875. It_s slightly cheaper for those who are 17 and under. Once we book airfare and take into account other minor expenses, we expect to pay about $1000 each (not counting souvenir prices).

It really isn_t that bad of a price for a week in Disney! We_re really excited.

You don_t need a car if you_re going to stay in _the World_ (like us). Shuttles take you from the airport to your hotel, and buses, boats, and monorails connect all the parks, waterparks, resorts, etc. No need to rent a car!

Something fun you could do that we did is book a Fantasmic! dinner package in Hollywood Studios. The show is in an outdoor stadium and performs 2-3 nights a week (depending on the season). It is, in my opinion, the best anywhere in Disney. If you book dinner at one of three restaurants (Mama Melrose_s, Hollywood _ Vine, or the Brown Derby) you get passes for everyone in your party to skip the line for the show and go right in. I_ve done it with my family and it was totally worth it. Best of all, you can use a credit of the dining plan to do this, so you don_t have to pay out of pocket. I_ve left a couple links below--the first leads directly to the show details, and the second talks about the dinner package.

    Good luck!

  • Aw me and my friends are doing the same thing(:
My situation is a bit different than yours but I can tell you what I_m doing and maybe you can get some ideas or something.

*Transportation: Train. It_s $250 roundtrip for us from NY to Orlando. Plus we get to bring a car on too. They trains have a car compartment.

*Hotel: My friend has a time share but you really don_t need a fancy hotel. It is a LOT cheaper to stay outside of Disney. We were thinking about staying at a Hampton Inn before we were able to get the time share.

*Meals: We are going for 10 days so we want to eat 1 meal in each park a day. So maybe breakfast at the castle one day, bring snacks for lunch, then drive to Chili_s or somewhere for dinner. Regardless, we are always bringing snacks for lunch. Just because it_s cheaper plus we are going mid-late July so it_s gonna be hot and we won_t be too hungry. If you want to do character breakfasts or go to any other big restaurants, book about 4 months in advance. They fill up quick!

*Transportation in Orlando: We are taking someone_s car but if you_re flying you obviously can_t do that. So look into renting a car to eat out of Disney and use the shuttles to get to the parks so you don_t have to pay for parking.

*Tickets: Park Hoppers all the way. Hint: the longer you stay, the less the ticket price comes out to be.

The total cost for my trip is gonna be a rough $1200. But it might be about $1500 because you need a hotel [if you stay out of Disney] and you didn_t say how long you were going and how many of you would be in a room [split the cost], etc. It_s not gonna be cheap but it will be SO worth it in the end!

  • As far as which airline you should take, that depends on where you are flying from (you didn_t mention that bit of information). You should choose an airline that flies into Orlando International Airport so you can take advantage of Disney_s Magical Express; Disney will pick you up from that airport for free and take you to your hotel (they will also pick up your bags at the baggage claim and deliver them to your hotel room). Unless you say where you are coming from I really can_t help you with picking an airline, although I would recommend checking out the low-fare airlines like Southwest, Allegiant, AirTran, etc.

As for which value resort you should stay at, I would recommend Pop Century. It_s the newer of the value resorts, and it has its own bus; the three All-Star value resorts share buses.

Whether or not the dining plan is worth it is a matter of opinion; it also depends on whether or not you want to eat all of your meals at Disney World. If you get the quick-service dining plan and bring things to eat for breakfast in your hotel room (like donuts, cereal, granola bars, etc.) and bring snacks to eat at the parks you would probably fare pretty well.

Planning through Disney World directly is the best and easiest way to go. You can call them at (407) 939-7675 or use the planning tools on the Disney World website:

    http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/

  • Disney should be a LOT of fun for a senior trip! Wish I could go. There_s a way right now to get free admission to any Disney Report (that will save you about $80/day entrance fee). All you and your friends need to do is volunteer in your community - check out these eHow articles I wrote:

Free entrance to any Disney resort by volunteering:

Volunteering is a win-win situation. Go have fun and help the community too.

  • Honey go to Disney on line and ask for their free video and it will tell you everything you want to know about all Disney things. We always stay at the Movies in the All Stars Resorts ( Movies, Music, Sports). They are the cheapest places to stay and they are adorable too. I hope you get to go because it is sooooo much fun.

  • I myself am going on a Disney trip for my graduation :]

    You need to consider money.
Keep in mind that Disney has 4 resort options: Value (cheapest), Moderate (a bit more expensive), Deluxe (expensive), and Deluxe Villas (More expensive than Deluxe; Sleep anywhere from 8-12 people). Also remember that if you get a Value, Moderate, or Deluxe resort, you will probably need 2 or more rooms. A Value, Moderate, or Deluxe resort room sleeps about 4 people. You may actually save money with a villa, depending on the amount of people. Disney is not cheap, though. Pop Culture or All Star Music are probably your best bet. They are nicer than the rest, but is still cheap and convienient. All Star Music also has a suite option, too. They sleep more, cost less in the long run.

Food: You are better off going with a meal plan. I say this, because you spend ALOT of money on food there. Meal plans also allow snacks :]

-Magic your Way plus Quick Service Dining package includes: 2 quick service meals (2 meals at sit down _wait for your food_ restaurants) and 2 snacks (mickey mouse ice cream sandwiches, turkey legs, etc....) per day.

-Magic your Way plus Dining: 1 table service meal, 1 quick service meal, and 1 snack per day.

-Magic your Way plus Deluxe dining: 3 meals (table or quick) and 2 snacks per day.

There are 2 more dining plans, but they are pricey and unneccassary. You can stop somewhere on the way to Disney to get some breakfast foods. My friends and I got the Quick Service Dining plan. We plan on using one of our snacks per day for a muffin for the next morning....or whatever we find. The muffins there are HUGE! Then we will have 2 quick service meals and 1 snack per day PLUS A BREAKFAST! We booked a reservation for Ohana (a sit down all you can eat buffet in the Polynesian) one night, so we will pay for that out of pocket. Its worth it, though! We saved alot of money with this plan. Hopefully its of some use to you!

Finally, plane tickets! My friends mom kept looking online every day waiting for the prices to go down. Thats what I suggest you should do. It allows you to get some really cheap tickets! A round trip ticket for each of us was $200 plus luggage fee ($20-30)! Pretty cheap for plane tickets round-trip!

Also when you book with Disney you get Disney Magical Express to take you (for free) from the Orlando airport to the hotel! Cool, huh?

I_m going to stop typing now, I think I_ve typed too much already!
Hope I was of some help!
Have fun! Its your last summer!

  • Disney may offer a first time visitor discount.

Maybe don_t do the meal plan. It offers a lot of food, but if you have to pay for it, it may cost you more than you would normally eat.

Visit tripadvisor.com, a free site to join, search Orlando, go to the travel forum there for lots of tips, hints, discount info.

If you go, Capone_s on 192 in Kissimmee has buy one get one coupons online or in the store fronts.

You can contact Disney directly to check on discounts and requirments for reserving hotels and any age requirments to reserve hotels, etc. Good luck.

  • Start by looking on Disney_s website. They have a vacation planner that will show you estimates of everything.

Also, this is a great website to get you started:

  • make sure you don_t go on the homosexual_s day, disney will not tell you about it unless you ask, many families with children have been caught out by that

  • get a life and go to mexico and see my cousin Hakim and Carlos

  • What is the shopping like on south st in philly?|121634

I was just wondering if I_d be into the shopping on south st in philly. I want to know what the clothing stores sell, what type of style and their prices. Thanks

  • South Street used to be a funky type of neighborhood with thrift stores with unique finds. In the last decade, stores such as Whole Foods have moved in and South St is losing its _edge._ There are still some of those unique stores, but the neighborhood is getting gentrified.
