How crowded does Myrtle Beach get during bike week?|190451

My friend and I were planning on going to Myrtle Beach from May16-18 to get away from it all. I know it_s going to be the last weekend of bike week. Does it get really crowded? Do they go to all of the beaches and sections of Myrtle? What are the hot spots? Probably not a good time to go to relax but would like to know anything about what to expect during Bike Week. I_ve heard it_s complete craziness and then I_ve heard the participants hang out at the main (older) beach. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks

  • you wont be able to walk the sidewalks thats how crowded it will be the center part of myrtle beach...down around the ripleys museums right in the heart of it all is where they tend to hang
  • What should I do to make a week out of Williamsburg, VA?|189760

I know about Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and Water Country USA. How many days should I plan for each place I visit in the area? Should we swing by Virginia Beach while we are in the area? Keep in mind, I have a 2 year old and a 4 year old.

  • The number of days in each place depends on the time of year that you will be visiting there. If you go now, for example, then you will only need to visit Colonial Williamsburg for one day because you won_t have to deal with the crowds of the summer or the lines to get into exhibits. Also, you should check when Busch Gardens closes for the winter months. You could visit historic Jamestown, Yorktown and the Mariner_s Museum in Newport News while you_re there but this all may be very boring for a 2 and 4 year old. They would probably like Disney much better at this age.
  • What should I do in New York City for the weekend?|106977

I am planning to go to NYC for a weekend. I have never been there and I want to see the parts that make NYC NYC.

Please don_t advise me to see the empire state bldg or the statue of liberty. Those are obvious.
I want restaurants and hang-out spots.
    Thanx in advance.

    PS-I live in Chicago.

  • A popular way to see the city is by boat. It_s one New York City trip you won_t want to miss, and still my favorite way to get the best idea of the City. This 90 minute twilight harbor cruise gives you a wonderful way to see the city and watch the twinkling lights come on.

Some thingsyou don_t want to miss are the various neighborhoods, like lower Manhattan_s Chinatown, go for authentic dim sum and other Chinese delights. Orchard Street on Sunday mornings especially has always been a delight for shopping and eating bialys and bagels. Artsy Soho with all it_s galleries and the trendy TriBeCa. Of course Greenwich Village and now the East Village as well are always a great place to sightsee.

There are museums, not only The Metropolitan and MOMA, but wonderful smaller ones like the Frick Museum and of course, Frank Lloyd Wright_s masterpiece, The Guggenheim with it_s outstanding modern art collection. You can wander for days in these museums. Art movies have always been the thing in New York, I_m sure you_ll find a running of _The Red Shoes_ still on.

Central Park is always an interesting place to go. Located in the very center of Manhattan surrounded by high-rise buildings. Try jogging around the reservoir (made famous by Jackie Kennedy - who jogged there on regular basis). The Central Park Zoo is fun and carriage rides from Central Park South through and around the Park make for a most romantic evening.

Stroll up or down Fifth Avenue for shops galore, don_t miss going into St. Patrick_s at 50th and Fifth, and the Empire State Building can still thrill.

  • What should I wear to South Beach Miami at night?|106496

I_m in Miami for the first time and planning on going to an upscale restaurant in South Beach tonight. What should I wear? I have no idea if it_s a smart/casual setting or a super posh area.
I_m on a pretty tight budget, but have jeans, mini skirts, boots, tights, blazer jacket and nice blouses. Do I need to go shopping for something more formal?
    Thanks!

  • I_d go with the blazer, jeans _ heels.. from what I read of your question. It_s florida afterall (usually always casual).. and the blazer/heels cover you if you feel it_s a more formal place..

  • nothing formal you will get it dirty just jeans nice shoes and top

  • Your birthday suit would be just fine!

  • Wear the most stylish thing that you have with you. Maybe go with heels, jeans or mini and a really flattering top. It seems like every person that lives in South Beach is absolutely a ten!

  • There is nothing you could wear on South Beach that would draw any attention. You would probably fit in best with the mini skirt though.

  • A basic black dress fits in any enviorment at south beach. Where flats to dress it down..or where heels, jewerly to spice it up. Can_t miss with the little black dress.

  • At night I see alot of cute summer dresses (yes, even in the beg. of February) and cutoff jean skirts with fancy tops and pointy stilletos! Silver is totally in and any name brands you got that you wanna rock on SOBE will do just fine!

During the day I see and wear big-huge sunglasses and messy, stylish hair with ripped jeans and classy/cute tops and Flipflops, gotta have flipflops! Light make up... Have a blast, I am sure you will! ***btw, if you get a chance definetely stop by Nikki beach in SOBE, day or night you wont regret, they are famous for their mojitos in a pitcher lol!!

  • try for a bullet proof vest first, nah be smart and comfy just fine

  • mini---i live here.

  • I think its better you were a shorts as its a beach...a light pink is a gud colour of taste

    Friend Forever,
    Prash

  • Wear thermal underwear and a heavy parka.
