How can you get from Villanova to the Tower Theater in Upper Darby?|110700

I know it_s possible to use the R5 and go into Philly and then back out but is there a faster way using the buses or another route? Thanks.

  • The SEPTA Route 100 Trolley runs from Norristown to the 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby, which is a very short block from the Tower Theater. There is a stop in Villanova, though I am not certain where it is.

  • Well that sure worked out well - have fun!

  • How Long does it take to do Disney World.?|167506

3 of my friends and I are planning to go to Disney-world for graduation in 2011 and were wondering how long we should plan to spend in the parks

We don_t plan to go to any of the water parks, just The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom.

We would also like at least half a day shopping in Downtown Disney.

We_re planning to go in July, which I know is peak season, so the parks may be busy. And we_re also planning to stay in a disney hotel, so we get the extra time in the morning and at night.

    What would you recommend?

  • On average, most people plan one full day for Hollywood Studios, one full day for Animal Kingdom, two full days for Magic Kingdom, and two full days for Epcot. And you still won_t see it all. It_s better to just read up and see what will work for you and what you want to do. By-the-way, while crowds are important, it is more important to have a good plan. Get yourself a copy of The Unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World and maybe see:
    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article

  • Honestly, I_ve been to Disney over 20 times in my life and have never done all Disney World has to offer.

Magic Kingdom is a large park and if you want to do it all, it will take you at least two days especially during a busy season. Epcot is also large and if you want to do the walk around the World Showcase it will take extra time. Animal Kingdom has easily be done in one day, don_t go their when it_s raining there is nowhere to hide. Hollywood Studios will take you two days if you want to see every show they have to offer, if you just want to pick and chose, one day will be fine. Downtown Disney is sort of funner to shop at night with all the lights and nightlife going on.

    Have a great trip!

  • I_ve been there over 20 times and I_d say you can knock out the parks in 3 days. W/ the extra magic hours it gives you a ridiculous amount of time to accomplish everything you wanna do. So I_d say 3 days if you got the park hopper if not than 4. But you can seriously knock out 2 parks in a day if you_ve been before and only like certain things.

  • magic kingdom- 2 days
    epcot- 1 day
    hollywood studios- 1 day
animal kingdom- 1/2-3/4 of a day
one day to relax in the morning and early afternoon and then go to downtown disney for a few hours.

so about 6 days in total.

and depending on your budget i recommend these disney world hotels.
value resort (least expensive)- POP CENTURY
moderate resort (moderately priced)-PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER
deluxe resort (most expensive)- THE CONTEMPORARY

  • Well me and my boyfriend are planning to do all four parks in two days. We are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel so we get to use the extra magic evening hours. We_re doing Animal Kingdom and Epcot the first day, and MGM and Magic Kingdom the second day. We have both been before and since it_s just the two of us, we can skip over the rides we don_t like.

If you like to go fast this would be a good way to do it but if not a week should be enough time.

  • Stay for a week. You_ll get to do everything. EVERYTHING.

And if you want to do alot in one day, when you purchase the tickets, make sure to add the Park Hopper option so you can flip flop to different parks a day.

  • It will take you a week to at least experience all of what you want to do. If you want to see and ride everything, it will take you longer.

  • We go for 2 weeks every year and it isn_t long enough. You need at least one week no less

  • I actually just came back from Disney on July 19 th and I would suggest staying for at least a week. The parks were crowded and the waits were on average about 90 minutes for some of the bigger rides like Splash Mountain and Test Track. But if you take advantage of the morning and afternoon magic hours and fast passes you will be able to do all of the major attractions in 1 park in about a half of day! We just did all four parks in two days! Granted we skipped some of the smaller rides but it can be done. Check out my guide below. There are several tips and tricks you can use to get around the lines. Hoped this helped!

  • Well, I would recommend doing a 7 day trip. This allows you some time to relax and enjoy Orlando/Disney property. If you drive down, you could even drive to Clearwater Beach, or go shopping at the outlets! Downtown Disney doesn_t have much non-Disney merch. If you don_t, you can choose to go back to your favourite parks! I would get a 5 Day park hopper + water parks _ more fun option added on to your passes. Look for some promo_s like Buy 4 Nights, Get 3 Nights free, and the Disney dining plan.

The water parks are awesome - you really should go! :) You can add it on to your Disney passes. They are for sure worth going to. My friend and I went on our last trip to Florida (June 27-July 11) and fell in love with Typhoon Lagoon! (if you miss the beach, this is the place to go) and Blizzard Beach has some awesome _thrill_ water slides! We went July 3rd, and the parks were closed to capacity (waterparks). The parks close to capacity on July 4th. Seriously, busy busy busy (the above poster probably hasn_t been around July 4th if they say it_s not busy).

The parks WILL be busy. It is one of the busiest times of the year. Save money by staying at the Value resorts. All the magic of Disney, for a budget! Plus, you get use of Extra Magic Hours and Disney transportation. If you fly you can use the Magical Express. Moderate resorts are nicer, and I would go with Port Orleans French Quarter, or Caribbean Beach. As for Deluxe, Beach Club wins hands down because of Stormalong Bay (sand bottom pool)

If you have any more questions, send me a message :)
    Hope this helps

  • I would honestly go for as long as your budget allows, I have been to Disney almost every year since I was born (I_m now 23) and I_ve been at all different times, stayed at different hotels and gone as a family trip, a friends trip and just me and my boyfriend. While July isn_t as crowded as Christmas, it is still crowded and HOT! So I would suggest the following plan: Stay at a Disney hotel so you can use their transportation, extra magic hours and pool, I would also get the park hopper tickets and get to one park when it opens in the morning use your fastpass to do as many attractions as you can by lunch and then leave and go back to your hotel to relax by the pool (the heat and crowds are the worst in the afternoon and you_ll be glad to have the time to cool down and rest) After your day at the pool, go to a different park at night for dinner and more attractions (make dinner reservations as far in advance as you can as they fill up very fast) My boyfriend and I used this system when we went last September and we were able to go to each park more than once, downtown, and a waterpark in 5nights/6days. I would recommend joining a disney discussion board so that disney experts can answer all of your questions and you can see their trip reports, touring plans and suggestions, I use disboards.com and it_s really great! Have a great time with the mouse!

  • oh man you are talking like a 3-4-5 day trip.
    im a disneyland freakkkk/disneyworld freakkkk

    i love it.
so i would set aside a week for this trip.
itll be worth it though. :)

    although i must say..
disneyland is better to me lol
    indiana jones ride!!!

  • It_ll take more than one day to do what you guys are planning to do.

  • In July, the parks surprisingly aren_t that busy. It_s nothing like Christmas or New Years, trust me. I_ve been. It is right after Star Wars Weekend has ended and before the Food and Wine Festival begins, so it_s a good time to go.

Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, you can do in a day. Roughly a morning if you take advantage of the Early Morning Hours.

What I usually do when I_m in Disney is doing one of the smaller parks in the morning, and then eating lunch at a resort, then heading to Epcot. Epcot is HUGE, and unless you feel like walking a lot in one day, I suggest you do this in separate days. Remember that the tickets get cheaper per day the more days you go. Downtown Disney opens up at 10 am, buses begin running at 9:15-9:30. You can make a morning (or night of that). You can head to a park in the morning, catch a bus to the Saratoga Springs and take a boat to Downtown Disney, or you can go to your resort and catch a bus. It depends on if you want fast or leisurely. You can eat lunch at one of the many yummy restaurants in Downtown Disney and shop all night. House of Blues also has concerts nightly.
  • What season would you say is the best season to visit the Upper Peninsula of Michigan?|150240

Michigan is a state with four seasons, Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer. Out of the four seasons, which season would you say is the best season to visit the Upper Peninsula of Michigan?

  • Fall... preferably in October.

  • WINTER!!! Snow and Lots of it. That is also depending on were you live currently

  • Mostly Spring _ fall

  • I_ve been here all my life, in Michigan that is, and i still have yet to go to the U-P. but from what i hear, the best time to go there is in the early fall, because the colors that the trees turn out up there are beyond compare.... so check it out
    c.c.

  • Oh, as us michiganians call it Up North. Go up north for skiing. Otsego Ski club is the best. There_s many others. Fall in mackinac is so cool ( Mackinac island and Traverse City and Harbor Springs are so awesome). Traverse city is cool to shop around in and of course lots of lakes. harbor springs has lakes, shops, and many cool houses and things to look at. I reccomend Harbor Springs and Mackicnac, because there so pretty in summer ( mid), fall and winter ( early winter) :) Have fun! Also Petsosky with the cool stones :)

  • I_ve been to the UP alot. My favorite times are late summer to early fall. (End of July-End of October). Spring and early summer can be full of mosquitoes and the dreaded black flies. These usually die down in August. By early November things usually get pretty cold.

Winter can be fun, if you like skiing and snowmobiling, but I_m more into the summer stuff.

  • Summer and Winter!
Winter for skiing and snow mobiling and summer for the lakes and just enjoy the Summer events!

  • If you do any research on the weather conditions of the Upper Peninsula of Michigan during each season, I believe you would be able to answer your own question. However, I will help you out. I would say go with the norm: late spring, summer.

  • The Fall is my favorite due to the beautiful Fall colors and nice weather. October is the best! After that, Summer and Winter are tied depending on what you like to do. If you love skiing and such, Winter is great in the UP in Michigan. If you like swimming and boating, Summer is the obvious choice. The only season I dislike in Michigan is Spring. The weather is unpredictable, but usually cold, rainy, and muddy. Yuck!

  • I_d say the fall with all the colors! Crossing Mackinaw Bridge will give you a great view!! Be sure to go to Mackinaw Island and ride bicycles around it!

But there_s Pictured Rocks and Grand Marquis too!

  • Fall, it_s so rural, and there_s tons of trees that change, it_s really pretty. I wouldn_t suggest winter, you_re likely to get stuck. Summer is all right up there, but it_s still kinda cool and the lakes are COLD! (unless you like cold water). Spring... it_s just spring.

  • Summer or early fall! As a matter of fact in about a month, you couldn_t pay me enough to visit!

  • summer nice weather

  • The fall, because of the miles and miles of forests changing colors. It can be breathtaking! In the UP, there are fewer _seasons,_ more like Winter/Summer! If you are into snow, then visit Mackinac Island in the winter for a fairy land of winter!

  • Either the winter or the summer... it is really pretty in the winter, because they normally get more snow than the lower peninsula, and in the summer it is really pretty too.
but it kind of depends on where you are visiting too...
also get a pasty while you_re up there, and some makinaw fudge on the way to where you are going... they are amazing!

  • Fall is definately the best. It_s so pretty up there with the leaves changing.

  • i have a friend that goes camping up there with relitives every fall and spring. he says he likes fall the best and its better to go in the fall

  • What is the best way to get from Sacramento airport to south Lake Tahoe?|159790

I don_t really want to rent a car. We have 8 people in our group (4 kids) and want to leave the airport on a Saturday and return the following Saturday.

    Thanks

  • Well, with that many people renting a car would be the most efficient way to make the trip especially on a Saturday. If you do want to use a bus, first get into downtown Sacramento on the YoloBus which is a public transit system serving the airport and provides express service to downtown for only $1.75 per person. From there check Amador Trailways which recently had routes between Sac _ S.L.Tahoe. Amtrak Thruway buses also have several daily trips between Sac _ Tahoe but may require a portion of your trip be on a train in order to sell seats on the bus segment. During the week, additional transit service is possible on the El Dorado Transit system.

  • I would suggest calling Foothills Shuttle and Charter service. It_s a small business but as far as I know, the only one of its type that operates in the Sierra Nevada foothills. They might be able to help you, but considering your party is so big, that would also mean they would probably need to use both of their vans (and they only have two).

I believe they are based out of Nevada City, CA. You can call them at (530) 432-3235 or (530) 210-9085.

The owner is Dominic and he is a lovely man. Expect to pay a lot, though. I think from the Nevada City area to the Sacramento Airport is $219 per person, return. To / from Tahoe I imagine it will be more. Multiplied by 8 people... it sounds to me like it would be more cost efficient to simply rent a car / van yourself.

Other than that, you could try Greyhound...

  • Why don_t you just change your flight to fly into the Reno/Tahoe airport? It seems like it might be cheaper to change your flight than to commute up the hill from Sacramento.

  • my roommate used greyhound. you can find them on line.
