How hard is it to get a job in New York City?|191181

Well, I plan on moving to NYC for college, and I wanted a part time job on the side to pay for expenses such as food, entertainment, personal, etc. I was wondering if it was hard for an 18 year-old to get a job there? Not like a job at a law firm or anything, but maybe working at a supermarket, hotel, store, stuff like that. Wondering if places like that were hiring.

  • It is pretty easy. You should first target the department stores. Then go to shops, cafes etc. You will find a job in no time! Finding jobs in the city is very easy because of how over populated we are!

  • No work would not be hard to find. On the other hand, it would be hard to find want you initially want before putting your foot in the door. For example, right now, security work is popular in NYC and that is probably one thing the city is focusing on. You can easily find a job in security.
Go to http://www.nationalsecuritytp.com for more information.

There are always jobs available but you_re not going to get what you want for the first few months to a year. You must meet the right people.

IE: I_m an audio engineer and music business major and work for a website in the city. Now with my experience, I have met the right people and I am continuing with my education and music business.

  • its really easy to find jobs in fields that are in demand at the moment
there are many jobs available right now in the security field
    try this website

  • I was wondering the same thing thing. I_m moving there next month also.
  • How do I keep myself and child safe if we cant become residents of New Jersey for 6 months?|190114

Right now I have lived with my mom for 2mths and I need to make sure that the father of my child doesnt come here to take her away from me. The courts here are saying there is nothing to do except to put it off for 6mths but I need help now... What state is going to help me be safe with her????

  • Don_t think the travel section is the best place to find an answer to that. If the courts are involved, you_d want to discuss this with your lawyer. If he has a history of violence against you and your child, you may be able to get an order of protection.
