How far from Austell to Atlanta and back?|167621

I_m not from Georgia. I_m planning an Atlanta trip with plans to stay in Austell. Online it looks really simple to go between the two locations. In person is it more complex?

How complicated is a ride from Austell to Atlanta?

What does Austell GA have to offer in the way of churches to visit, tourism, black history, craft shows, cultural events, etc.?

The city government website didn_t show what I needed. What does Austell have to offer travelers other than affordable hotel rooms?

  • Only thing in Austell is Six Flags but your only about 10 miles from downtown ATL. I lived in Austell for 2 years and it_s not that bad. Its also in 1 of the safest counties in the metro area. Cobb County doesn_t cut as much slack as some of the others. Its a good place to live but it doesn_t have much. On the other hand it_s pretty close to everything.

  • The only thing I know of in Austell is Six Flags, but it_s not far from Downtown and SW Atlanta (about 15 minutes on Rt 20, which intersects Rt 75/85, the main highway which goes through Atlanta). Downtown/SW Atlanta where you_ll find the MLK memorial and Turner Field. East Atlanta, a hip indie-ish neighborhood is also on Rt 20. The only thing you_ll want to do is try to avoid traveling during rush hour, because the roads you_ll be taking get very crowded.

  • Austell is a good place to go outside of Atlanta because of Six Flags. Two hotels that I know are decent are Spring hill Suites by Marriott for $109.00 a night and Wingate by Wyndham for $89.00 a night. Austell to Peachtree Street ( Downtown Atlanta) by 17.0 mi C about 35 mins. You can access a lot of the places from that street. Six Flags is the only good thing in Austell. Everything else is in Atlanta. Have a great time!

  • bout 20 minutes each way. im not really familiar with any cultural stuff in da area. word of faith is a church in austell. da pastor dere is dale c bronner. he_s apart of da bronner bros hair products. six flags is also in austell.

  • I think about 2 to 3 hours
  • How busy is Disney World in May?|184900

We are in the process of planning our family vacation and are wanting to visit Disney world this year. We usually take vacation in July but figured the earlier the better if were going to disney. Can anyone prepare me for the amount of people were looking at if we go in May? My children are 8 and 4. Also, if anyone has any suggestions, I am interested in purchasing the meal plan and would like to hear some pros and cons about it.

  • Avoid holidays like Mothers_ Day and Memorial Day weekend. May is a beautiful month to come to this fine city but beware of Lovebugs. They tend to be out in May and October.
If you purchase the meal plan which is a VERY good deal than be sure to hit up the dinner shows like Hoop De Doo review and the polynesian luau!!

  • May is certainly better than July, but it may still get a bit warm. May should produce about 500 hundred people.

    http://hubpages.com/hub/Disney

  • May is better than July at DW. Be prepared for heat and unexpectant rain. Purchasing the Meal Plan is another good choice because Disney food cost alot. With the Meal Plan you get the bottom 3 for each day per person:
    1. one complete breakfast or lunch meal (you choose which)
    2. snack (ice cream, popcorn, or soft drink)
    3. one complete dinner meal
Book ahead of time to use your dinner meal at a really nice restaurant such as the _Ohana_ located in the Polynesian Resort.
Have Fun and don_t worry the lines won_t be that bad with Fast Passes!

  • Its not TOO crowded.
i went the week before school and it was EMPTY!
    meal plans work really well!
buy a book on planning disney vacations, that helped us ALOT!
    hope that helps.
    :D

  • depends what day you go if you go duning the week its not as busy but durning weekends be careful

  • Have visited Fl. many times and done Disney 8 times. A crowd is a crowd. The weather will be better in May, temp-wise,but it is still spring there so rain is always a factor. Plan well ahead of time and shop the HUGE selection of hotels/motels. We_ve found rooms for an average of $35 on priceline. $45.00 at a $200.00 a night motel. We drive every time from the Midwest and either call a friend to book or use a laptop and plan ahead. It is just as easy to leave and come back for dining (and usually cheaper) BUT there is a chance that the park capacity will fluctuate, causing some delay getting back in. The break in the day doesn_t hurt either. Although that only happened once and during the 4th of July. Our best trip for 2 adults and 2 kids only cost us around $1500.00 for 9 days of travel, meals, and accommodations. Not neccesarily Taj-Mahals but no dives. If you can plan your day(s) at Disney well enough, you can get the fast passes at every? ride and work your way back around to them for faster entry.

  • very crowded.... from May to August it is crowded

the low seasons are from Sept. to mid-Nov..... also mid-Feb. to mid-April

  • Peak times are the 4th of July, Easter, Spring Break and Christmas and Thanksgiving. May will be fairly crowded, but the weather is spectacular. August is beastly hot. Go to the Disney website and sign up for notices of sales they may have going on. You can save lots if you book in advance and staying on the campus may be the way to beat the crowds. On the other hand, you can save money by staying off campus and even renting a condo that is fully furnished and has a full kitchen. Disney has timeshares for rent, too. The meal plan is fine for the kids, and for adults who don_t mind standard fare.
Best bet? Stay at an affordable lodge or timeshare on the Disney campus and get the meal plan. Your options are greater and you are guaranteed a good time!

  • extremely.

when we went is septemeber there was a like of 500 people to get in.

    So May isn_t any better.

    Pros:
    ....

    Cons:
Horrible heat (in sept. the temperture was about 100_
HUGE LINES (some people are on break in May)
High prices (as any Disney Amusement Park)
  • What is a specific place to have a wedding that is cheap and affordable in Austin TX?|182810

I have been looking into all this wedding stuff for awhile now and I have yet to find a really great place in Austin to have the wedding. It needs to be indoors but in a place with a great view where maybe we can go outside for a reception. I thought somewhere near lake Travis would work but I am having trouble locating a really good place that is cheap enough. Our budget is little to nothing, please help!

  • Most if not all of the venues near the lake will be very expensive. Zilker Clubhouse is a good location that has an indoor area and an outside area with a great view. It is also very affordable.
I recently attended a wedding at nice spot in South Austin called Cali Kate. You may also want to check into Mercury Hall.

I hope this helps; good luck as you prepare for your special day!
  • Needs advice on traveling to Orlando with 2 kids ages 2 and 8?|182119

We are planning to go to Orlando for the first time with kids ages 2 and 8 in Jan. or Feb. of 2009. We_re planning to enjoy Disney as well as other family oriented places in Orlando (excluding SeaWorld and Universal - we_ll go there next time). We also hope to stay in a hotel with kitchenette and has a quick access to the theme parks. I need hotel and itinerary suggestions, and other helpful tips. Btw, it will be a 7-day vacation including air travel from the Midwest. Thank you.

  • If you want to stay on Disney property I would suggest you stay in a cabin at Ft Wilderness. It has a full kitchen plus a separate bedroom for privacy. Ft Wilderness is now considered a moderate resort so you won_t be paying the high prices you_d expect. They have buses that will take you to and from the parks. Since you_ll be traveling by air you_ll also be entitled to free shuttle service to and from the airport on Disney_s Magical Express if you stay at one of their resorts. This in itself will save you and your family quite a bit of money on transfers. Have a great trip!

  • The other posted gives good advice. If you choose to stay OFF property you can find even lower rates. The area around Orlo Bronson Highway (US highway 192) and over on International Drive are filled with hotel, motels, restaurants _ anything else a visitor might need. The north end of International Drive (often called I-Drive) is especially popular with tourists. If your not renting a car pick one with shuttle service _ save the $12 per day parking fee at Disney.

Exploring the 4 Disney parks will take most of your time. l recommend a stroller for the little ones. Its a lot of walking even for adults. They will like magic kingdom the most. Note that Animal Kingdom tends to close earlier then the others. Make reservations for any sit-down restaurant in the parks. Have a good trip.

  • Check out the seralaga hotel in kissamee stayed there the last 2 years. They have different rooms so that everyone will feel comfortable. they are right next to old town. There are rides, games, and shopping. Check out oldtown.com for more information. The pictures on seralagahotel.com are actuall pictures of the hotel. I can tell you that the rooms do look like the pictures. Get a room in the back the it is quieter. the childrens pool is in front but the jacuzzi is in the back pool. get the magic card from orlando.com and ask for the magic card rate, save you alot of money.

  • I_ve never had to stay at a hotel but if you can shell out anywhere from 500-1000 bucks a night the grand floridian is amazing...

i think your kids are too young to stay in the animal kingdom wilderness loudge they might get scared of the wild animals

for parks i recommend magic kingdom it has the most rides for younger kids

  • try the days in on west 33rd street!! they are centrally located and also have packages, shuttles ans discounts
  • Dears, What the difference between luggage room and locker ?|193029

Sorry, but I have do to a silly question: The hostels offers luggage room. Does luggage room take place in the room or not? How funtions the luggage room, my pack can saty there during the day when I go out?

Help me please I never stayed in a hostels and probable I will do!!!

  • A luggage room is part of the Reception area. It contains luggage belonging to more than one person. Entry to the room is controlled by the hostel receptionist who (usually) accompanies the individual when depositing/collecting their luggage. There is sometimes a charge for use of the room. Your pack can be left there all day (but often not after 8 p.m.)
A locker is a container large enough for a bag for one person who holds the key independently.

  • a locker is usually a small cabinet that you can store some personal items in, clothes, books etc.... a luggage room is a large room where your suitcases and those cases of others in the hostel will be kept. normally those luggage rooms are very safe and kept under watch of the owners of hostels or hotels so you shouldnt have any problems. its still a safe bet not to leave any valuables in your suitcase though.
  • How old do you have to be to go to flight school in chicago?|167140

I am 13 years old and wanted to know how old you have to be to go flight school in chicago?

  • You have to be at least old enough to become licensed as a private pilot! If you can find a private instructor to teach you, that would be fine, but you are too young to _solo_ and too young for a license. Until you are old enough, you can fly with an instructor, but never alone and never as pilot-in-command. When I was first licensed the minimum age was 16, but it may have gone up since then. Call the flight school and ask!
