What is the cheapest site for hotel reservation?|171653

I_m planning to go to Vegas on Christmas weekend.
trying to find the price over the internet and I wonder if there is any cheapest site. If there is any trip package, it will be great too!

  • I can suggest you my booking partner roomsnet.com...I hve booked with them several times and very satisfied about their service and price. They offer loads of benefits for their members. Recently i got 100 by participating in a site contest. I would recommend them highly to anybody.

  • Check out Los Vegas chamber of Commerce, sometimes they will have a package deal.

  • Hotels.com
    or Orbitz.com
  • How do I get access to the haiku stairs/stairway to heaven(Hawaii)?|171255

Iv_e been planning to hike the mighty haiku stairs in Oahu, but there_s like no access.WTF? I knew it was illegal but I know some people who knew some people that been up there. I tried once but a ******* security guard was there. Are there certain days that they aren_t there? This pisses me off cause I hike almost every trail there is on Hawaii except this and sacred falls...

  • Well then you already know that the only way up there is to find another way around the guard, but don_t park your car in the neighborhood the people there will have it towed and or tagged. Try asking your people how they got threw with out passing the guard.
Try going up threw the gate by the park at the top of Haiku Rd.
Better yet hows about finding some where else to hike like up into Waiahole Valley or Waikane Valley up to the water tunnel, it is easy but there are no guards there to stop you from walking up there.
    Good luck....Aloha....

  • dont do it,,,,too risky
  • Where to go celebrate 21st birthday with family and young children?|123606

I live in Orange County (Huntington/Newport Beach area) CA and I was wondering where to go to dinner or so to celebrate my 21st birthday? We have a 7 year old and 1 year old with us as well. Our first idea was possibly Vegas but its not really age appropriate.

We can travel for about 4 hours or so in either directions...

    Any ideas?

  • How about Laughlin? It_s a lot more kid-friendly than Vegas. In fact, your 8YO LOVES when we go to the Avi, about 10miles south of Laughlin. They have the best pool in the desert, they are right on the Colorado River, and they have a _kids club_ that our daughter keeps asking about. You can drop the kids off, and go hang out in the casino. They also have a movie theater on the premesis if you want to catch the latest movie.

  • How about a break from the big city?

San Luis Obispo/Pismo Beach area would be an amazing alternative.

  • here is a fun place:
    san juan capistronaio
    the chinies theater
    the walk of fame
    hope this helps

  • How much did the USA pay Russia to buy the territory of Alaska, and was it a good deal ?|105177

Also would be interesting to have a rough estimate of equivilent of the modern day money price the USA paid for Alaska, back whenever they originally bought it. Thx.

  • $7.2 million at 1868 value. Don_t know what that converts to in 2007 dollars American.

    Alaska Purchase

Acquisition in 1867 by the U.S. from Russia of 586,412 sq mi (1.5 million sq km) at the northwestern tip of North America, comprising the current U.S. state of Alaska. The territory, held by Russia since 1741, was considered an economic liability, and in 1866 it was offered for sale. Pres. Andrew Johnson_s secretary of state, William Seward, negotiated its purchase for $7.2 million, or about two cents per acre. Critics labeled the purchase Seward_s Folly. Congressional opposition delayed the appropriation until 1868, when extensive lobbying and bribes by the Russian minister to the U.S. secured the required votes.

  • George Seward, the American Secretary of State who bought Alaska from the Russians in 1867 for 7.2 million dollars. (Even though this worked out at roughly two cents an acre it was not a popular purchase and the territory was referred to at the time as _Walrussia_ and _Seward_s Ice Box_.)

  • I believe it was one dollar. but I may be wrong.

  • millions of us dollars, it was really a good deal

  • it cost the US a penny an acre

  • William H. Seward, the U.S. Secretary of State, engineered the Alaskan purchase in 1867 for $7.2 million. That is only 2 cents an acre. I couldn_t find any information about how much 7.2 million dollars would be worth today but it was definitely a great deal for the US. Alaska was a strategic location during the cold war since it is so close to Russia.
