I am a 40 year old single woman relocating to San Diego. I was wondering about good places to live.?|197042

I can_t afford to spend more than $350K on a home. I will be working in La Jolla and do not want more than a 30 min commute. I have no children but 2 dogs and would like some outdoor space for them and I like cafe bars and cool restaurants with an older crowd. I would rather not live in a student or family community what options do I have? Thanks for any guidance you can give.

  • You can_t get much of a home (maybe a condo at the most) within 30 minutes of La Jolla for $350K in a neighborhood that you would even consider living in. I think you should get a place to rent fairly close to La Jolla (look in the Clairemont 92117 area for the best place to live that_s close to La Jolla and at a decent price), and then go check out all of the neighborhoods that you can afford to see if any of them appeal to you. You would be making a mistake buying a place out here without knowing about the neighborhood the house is in. And, I think you would be pretty disappointed when you actually find out what that $350K will get you out here.

  • Kingston Ave is good. Very nice homes along the ocean, and affordable.
  • What is the best suburb of Charlotte, NC to raise a family?|146319

I am taking a job in Charlotte, NC and would like to know where are the best places to live with a family within 45 minute commute of Charlotte? Looking for safe, good schools _ family activites. Any advise welcome!

  • Nowhere not a safe place at all!!! Rock Hill SC is nice

  • Your best bet would be Fort Mill, SC. They have great communities, low crime and wonderful schools. In addition, it is very accessible to the Charlotte areas and much nicer than Rock Hill.

  • I love the North Charlotte/Huntersville area.

  • Go to Raleigh! Much better!
  • Best roads to travel in late Sept to see fall tree colors in West Virginia?|136184

We usually travel by way of Charleston, West Virginia, and the newer highways, but we plan to go back in late Sept to show new family member the fall leaves. I Notice the eastern part of the state (pocahontas) county starts to change in late Sept. What road do we get on in Virginia to enter Pocahontas county, West Virginia? I know color display, is better in early Oct, but you take vacations when you can get them.
    Thank you.

  • Use Google Maps _get directions_ function to plot a course from your location to a destination in Pocahontas county. Just about anywhere in WV is beautiful in the fall. I_m hoping to take a 3 day motorcycle trip into the Greenbank area in late August or September.

  • You need to come to Fayette county. It_s just south of Charleston. The road is called route 19.. Drive across the new river gorge bridge.. the view does NOT get any better than that.. it_s absolutely gorgeous. Plus there is a really nice scenic overlook. I would say your best bet would be to map quest directions to it, though, because I don_t really know where you_re coming from, but I assure you that you will LOVE the view =).
I cant really find the best picture of the foliage around the bridge in the fall, but on this site there are some place in southern WV that aren_t very far from the bridge that you can go to, and in the third row of the pictures you can see the bridge:

  • Where are good places to take scenic pictures west of Denver and east of the Divide?|147093

The farthest I_m looking to travel would be Idaho Springs or close to it anyway.

  • Some of my favorites starting at Idaho Springs (St Mary_s is beyond Idaho Springs but it is nice):
Idaho Springs Main Street historic district
Mt Evans Road (closed this time of year) but once it is open all sorts of views
Oh My God Road north out of Idaho Springs
Evergreen Parkway to Elk Meadow - the upper meadow is lovely
Drive through Bergen Park and find th Elk herd
Squaw Pass Road to Beaverbrook Watershed openspace
Lookout Mountain and Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave

  • the picture window bridge facing west (or even east for that matter) is a good pic, at evergreen. if you don_t know what it is, when you summit at/near evergreen/ buffalow bills grave, there is a bridge w/ no center support because it frames the mountains perfectly. also, the flying suacer house used in woody allens _sleper_ is kinda neat.

  • Saint Mary_s Glacier near Idaho Springs
  • What is the cheapest hotel on Disneyworld grounds that has 3 bed rooms?|113381

Thanks!! Also which hotel is your favorite? I am thinking of taking my mom, father in law, me, my hubby, and my 3 year old daughter. Thanks!

  • Dont stay on property if you need that much space. Just rent a condo or House nearby (5-10 minutes) you will save hundreds of $$ and be much more comfortable, especially for that 3 year old. I know the Dining plan is free, but getting 2 or 3 Rooms even at a value resort on Disney is more expensive than renting offsite and paying your own money for food.
I got a rate of $595 (incl taxes/fees) for 1 Week offsite with 4 BR and private pool.

  • The value resorts of Disney are the Pop Century Resort, the All-Star Movies Resort, All-Star Sports Resort, and the All-Star Music Resort. They are all located on Disney property and have free shuttle service. Your daughter would probably enjoy the All-Star Movies resort the most because she would be able to see some of her favorite characters. You can find more information on that resort here:

    Hope this helps!

  • Cheap and 3 bedrooms on Disney property doesn_t exist. I know that Disney has villas at some of their deluxe resorts, but they aren_t cheap.
The cheapest options on Disney property is the Family Suites at the All Star Music Resort. They can accommodate 6 people. They have a bedroom, livingroom, and kitchenette.
