What are some fun things to do in Saginaw and Bay City Michigan?|126495

My girlfriend and I are going down to see a late show of Harry Potter, but we are going to be in the Bay City / Saginaw area by noon, we want to spend the day down state. Problem is we live up north and don_t know much about the area. Could anyone give us some ideas of fun places to go? Thanks much.

  • HI,

  • How do I go about moving to the States for a year or two?|139495

My boyfriend and I are looking to go out there for a couple of years, as his company already has loads of offices out there - how do we go about getting the process moving?

  • First thing would be to talk to his companies HR department. They should be able to handle all the paperwork for him, if there are any positions open.

You on the other hand will have a harder time getting a VISA, you should visit the nearest American Embassy and find out what it takes to get a VISA.

  • Canberra can be boring, but the night life is great. You can buy nearly anything in Canberra, and then drive for 1.5 hours to the best holiday destination (Batemans Bay - Gods country, and right on the beach)

  • I would advise against it, Australia is lovely, as is far east (although expensive) America is overated and has high crime levels.
  • What are the disadvantages of moving to America, from Britain?|110155

I think i will go to America, when i am older to live, what problems will i have (INCLUDING GETTING A JOB AND OF COURSE BEING ALOUD IN FOR CERTAIN SPECIFICATIONS).

    Hope you can help!

  • You won_t be able to vote.
Americans are obsessed with the British accent. You_ll be very popular.

  • Unless you are independently wealthy you will need a job + a work visa. You need a sponsor (employer) for a work visa - you can_t apply for one on your own.

Check with US companies in the UK and UK companies with offices in the USA. For example, Hilton and Marriott hire international staff as interns.

UK citizens can visit the USA for up to 90 days as a tourist, so you could travel for interviews _ tests if necessary.

Search _international exchange programs USA_ and there should be many links to programs that offer temporary and seasonal work in the US. Do carefully check any programs you might be interested in as not all of them are a good deal.

Another option is to go to school in the USA. UK citizens can easily get a US student visa and you MAY be able to work on-campus. Having a USA university diploma or certificate will make applying for jobs easier, and going to school in the US will help you decide if you really want to move here.
