What to do in Big Sur during the winter - were staying at Glen Oaks?|174941

After our wedding I think my fiance and I are going to spend a few nights in Big Sur. We looked around, and not wanting to spend over 500 dollars a night, decided on Glen Oaks, the modern decor looked cozy and inviting.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do? It will be in the beginning of January.

Thanks!

  • 90 miles big sur, every mile is a memory. Hearst castle, julia pfeiffer burns, pfeiffer big sur and pt lobos park are 4 must seen sites, biggest castle in US, waterfall to beach, redwood forest and wonderful hiking road, and exotic rocks and pines.

There are many cabin style hotels in big sur for $99 to 199 per night.

  • What would be a fun thing to do on Oahu for a school field trip for graduation from middle school?|158999

Money isn_t an issue but it has to be something fun. And no beach sorry. We want to plan for something in May btw.

  • ice palace?? a lot of schools go there. I went to kapalama elem. and in 6th grade that was our field trip.

I was gonna say haunama bay but you said no beaches...

dave and busters if you have adults attending the party.

im not sure if they still have this place in waikiki across of red lobster but it was a laser tag place that is fun but its really small.

Or if you can find a paint ball place in hawaii that is open for a big group like yours.

Im from hawaii born and raised been on the island for 23 years its sad enough idk where the good places are anymore..lol

I think hiking is fun like makapuu lighthouse, or even diamond head (minus the tourists).

sea life park would be a fun trip.
The zoo and waikiki aquarium is boring..but if you like that than thats cool too.

There is a race track in kunia but im not sure what it is called and it looks small..I havent been there.

and this one is really fun..

    hope those are good.

  • A few things you could do are:

Ice Palace (ice skating and stuff)
    Hawaiian Waters water park
    Magic Show
    Aquarium
    Polynesian Culture Center Luau
    Bishop Museum
    Iolani Palace
    Diamond Head Hike

I_ve also traveled with Explorica before. They are an educational tour company that could help you out. My trips are mostly history-based, but they could definitely help you plan whatever you want.
  • How Much Pocket Money Should I bring for a one month stay in LA?|146668

Will be based in LA, but also planning to visit NY and San Francisco for a short visit during my one month stay, my accommodation in LA is covered but probably not in NY and San Francisco, please advise, thank you!

  • dear god... thousands and take out more in credit.

  • Take as little pocket money as possible. Use automatic teller machines and credit cards. If you are foreign, you_ll get the best exchange rate from an ATM for all your purchases and withdrawls.

  • Never heard of an ATM?
