How many hour is from las vegas to the mountain?|180724

I wanna go to the mountain to see snow? What mountain does it call in las vegas and how many min or hours?

  • It depends where you are coming from but Mt. Charleston is about a half hour drive from the north west part of the valley.

  • Drive northwest about 35 miles to Mt. Charleston.

  • Mt Charleston with Lee Canyon or Kyle Canyon is about 60 minutes drive from Vegas

  • you can go to mt charleston

and it takes more or less 45 minutes
  • What is the closest place you can get beside downtown Phoenix to rent houses? ?|122746

I am taking a vacation to Phoenix and I need a answer. We want to go to the closest place to Downtown Phoenix, but not quite in it. We need a house, not a hotel.

Thanks to whoever can answer this question!

  • Just did a quick search on Craiglist and there are quite a few in Phoenix (Biltmore is a VERY nice area in Phoenix)

  • Stay to the east, like Tempe, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, and Scottsdale. Much safer areas than the west. Gilbert and Scottsdale are very nice, but Scottsdale has a reputation for people who show off their money, while Gilbert is very modest. Tempe is pretty busy in the north part (where ASU is) but the south is calmer. If you like Mesa don_t live west of Alma School RD. North Phoenix is nice, but make sure you are north of the Phoenix Mountain Preserves... they make your drive longer, but it_s a beautiful and safe suburbia.

  • Try www.vrbo.com and www.homeaway.com for info. The nicest areas closest to downtown Phoenix would probably be Tempe and Ahwatukee. There are some nice places in Phoenix too, and Scottsdale but it would be pricier there.

  • Look in the historic neighborhoods surrounding downtown - Willo, Encanto, Roosevelt, and so on.

  • NORTH or EAST Phoenix.
  • What are the sunniest cities in California?|156270

I am thinking about moving to California in a couple of years to escape the rain and clouds in western washington and I was wondering where the sunniest places were that are on or near the coast in California? I am talking about the most days of sunshine. It can be Northern or Southern Cali.

  • So Cal is definitely much _sunnier_ than No Cal (the bay area is notorious for gloomy summers). San Diego weather is the best... but it will be a challenge to afford to live there. Best areas are probably starting around Huntington Beach (Orange County) and heading Southward all the way down to San Diego (the L.A. beaches are fun to visit, but are way too crowded, are unimaginably expensive to live at, and the water isn_t clear).

  • There_s the city of _Sacramento_ located in the south central valley (78% sunshine) where you are constantly bombarded w/ heat and sunshine. I know because I used to live there. Las Vegas is sunny as hell also (85% sunshine), lived there for 6 months.

The closer you move towards the central valley such as Nevada, there_s less precipitation and therefor less rain and cloudy storms. ( Very low chance of rain happening in these regions) 85% clear days.

And I_m guessing if your also looking for something in between such as not too hot or cold weather and sometimes a mixture of both, go with the city of San Jose. I now permanantly recide in San Jose and am quite grateful for it_s comfortable weather patterns.

    Good luck with the moving.
Here are some other very sunny cities with.

  • Coastal SoCal cities have the best weather! (places near Los Angeles, e.g. Santa Monica, Malibu, Pacific Palisades, etc.)

  • Anything in the Los Angeles county!

  • don_t go to Monterrey Ca cause 1 minute it will be foggy...the next sunny...rainy....weird crap..it only gets maybe 83 degrees here

  • Northern!
    trust me.its better!
  • How long does it usually take for Disneys Magical Express to pick you up and take you to the resort?|145947

Just out of curiosity - our flight should arrive in Orlando at 10:30AM. How often does the Magical Express run to take you to the hotel? Will they be there when we arrive or will we have to wait? Also, we are staying at Saratoga Springs - about how long would it take to get there from the airport using the express?

I_m asking a million questions about this trip. :) Just like to know what_s going on!

  • Not to worry about asking a million questions about your Disney World trip. I_ve been a lot and get so excited about each trip!

I have flown to Orlando and ridden the Magical Express to WDW and NEVER had any problems. Before you arrive, you will be mailed an Airport Transportation Booklet and luggage tags ~ usually you get it about 2 weeks before your flight.

When we arrive we skip airport baggage claim and go right to the Disney Airport Welcome Center ~ it_s on Level 1, _B_ Side. Not to worry it_s easy to find. Some people stop to get their luggage and carry it on the bus. We have never had a problem with lost luggage. But be sure to have a carry on with your swim suit and any extras you may need. That way you can swim or head to Theme Parks if your room isn_t ready. Or heaven forbid if your luggage is late.

There is a line of ME busses waiting to pick you up. Climb on the one marked for your resort. It takes awhile for the bus to load and then you are on your way. I_d say the drive takes about 45 and that includes stops (no more than 4 stops) to drop guests off at their resorts.

Your luggage should arrive in about 3 hours and is left in your room. Doesn_t get any easier than that.

When you depart your resort returning to the airport :-(
~ will be notified of your ME pick-up time and location the day prior to checkout. They hang this info on your room door.
Check the time to make sure you have 3+ hours ~ the bus can make multiple stops and there are delays as luggage is loaded at other Resorts. You certainly do not want to be late arriving at the airport.

Check this site for Magical Express info and other WDW info as well ~
    http://www.wdwinfo.com/Transportation/ma

Have a Magical Holiday and Pixie Dust to you!

  • You will go to the Disney Magical Express location in Orlando Airport - if memory serves it is lower level side B - it will be noted or just ask as you leave the plane. You check in and board the bus designated for your resort and you may sit for a brief time waiting for more bus passengers. From start to finish it is about an hour and you are at your resort. Time flys! The bus is comfortable and videos play for the ride.

  • The ride itself is about 30minutes long.
How long you will wait for the bus depends on
what time of day it is and how many guests are waiting for the bus
and where the bus is on route.

Not all the ME buses go to SS. Each ME bus hits about 3 disney resorts. so it will just depend on where it is on its route.
I have walked right on to my bus and I have waited 30 minutes for it.

  • Once you get off the plane, you will go directly to the airport_s monorail/subway to terminal B. From there, you take the escalator to level 1. You then go to Disney_s Magical Express Welcome Center and show them your Magical Express booklet that Disney sends you in the mail about 2 weeks before your vacation. After that, you will go into the Saratoga Springs queue and wait for them show you to the correct bus. This process can take up to about 30 minutes or so. There are several Magical Express buses in the parking lot boarding the guests since they are already aware of your flight times, so most likely the bus will be there waiting for you. Once you_re on the bus, the ride from the airport to the hotel can take about 25 min to about 40 min depending on whether you are the first hotel stop or the last since they drop other guests off at different hotels. NOTE: The Magical Express gets your luggage for you and drops it off your hotel room, but that can take up to 3 hours, so if you need to get something before then (ie: bathing suit, toothbrush, etc), then you need to carry it on the plane....So, since your plane lands at 10:30 am, then I think it would be safe to say you will be at your hotel by noon. This is really a great thing Disney has been offering the last few years...it saves a lot of money and it_s a lot of fun too! Here_s Disney_s link for more info
    http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts

  • You may have a bit of a wait, but if you do it shouldn_t be long. My brother and sister-in-law just did a WDW trip in late June and said they had to wait for maybe 10 minutes. It_s a heck of a lot better than it used to be when Mears Motor Coaches was the big outfit transporting people to and from WDW. You_d have to wait for an hour (sometimes two) just to get transportation to your resort, and they usually crammed you into a van. Not nearly as comfortable as the Magical Express Bus.

It takes about 20 minutes to get from Orlando International Airport to WDW property, but you have to bear in mind that the bus may drop people off at other resorts before dropping you off at Saratoga Springs. At most, you_re looking at around 45 minutes from the time you leave to the time you_re dropped off at Saratoga Springs.

As for going back to the airport, don_t sweat that. They_ll ask you what day you_re leaving and what time your flight departs, and they_ll make sure they have someone there to pick you up and deliver you to the airport with plenty of time to check in, go through security, etc.

  • After you get off the plane, head directly downstairs and walk all the way to the left side of the terminal. You will check in with your Magical Express vouchers you receive in the mail at least 2 weeks before your flight. If you don_t have those vouches, you will not get on the bus so make sure you bring them with you for both trips.

After checking in, they will put you in a line specifically for your resort. It depends on the time of year and the time of day you_re going for how long you will have to wait for the bus. Being that you have a morning flight, you shouldn_t have to wait longer than 10-20 minutes. One time we arrived at 9 AM a literally were on the bus within 5 minutes.

On the bus, there will not only be guests from your resort. Any Magical Express bus can make up to 3 resort stops, it_s kind of luck of the draw if your resort is first. Usually they will only drop off guests with hotels that are close to one another. The ride from the airport to Disney property alone could last to about 30 minutes if you_re the first stop.

Also, don_t forget to tip the Magical Express driver.
  • What are the top five or ten best malls in washington state?|157021

i really love south center, the remodel was great, but im kind of sick of going there.
Tacoma mall and south hill are nothing to shout about. Pacific place and that other one in seattle are pretty decent and so is bellevue square but are there any other good South Center styled malls in washington?
you know classy, nice architecture, trendy stores?
    thanks!

  • Alderwood is similar to the South Center Mall - recent renovation and lots of new stores. Trendy upscale stores have been brought in which surprises me since most of that area is not that rich.

Bellevue square has always been a favorite especially with the new sky bridge to the new shopping area across the street. Very trendy stores here!

The outlet mall in Marysville is open and they always have lots of good deals. Seattle Premium OUtlets

  • alderwood mall in lynnwood is a lot like south center.
they just did an add-on there a couple years ago and basically added a whole outdoor style shopping area to the mall. not of the shops they added to the outdoor section are any good for young adults in my opinion. they_re more for an older more sophisticated crowd i guess is the feel i got. but they did also add a lot of restaurants to the outdoor plaza like macaroni grill, pf changs, blue c. sushi, claim jumper, etc. they also have valet parking.
they have some trendy stores like forever 21, loveculture, and metropark. but i think bellevue square has the trendiest stores - they_re just definately on the more expensive-trendy side than something like forever21.

  • Bellevue Square Mall and Lincoln Square (literally across the street from each other). They_ve been expanding for awhile, and it_s very classy and trendy.

You can check out their store directory here:

    http://www.bellevuesquare.com/

South Center is the only mall that even comes close. Alderwood, Factoria, Cascade... not so impressive.

  • all malls are the same. they have the same chain stores, same crappy food establishments, and same souless plastic people shopping in them.

  • I like Alderwood mall. its big and has all the stores want.

  • either ob-urn or marysville
  • Any ideas about honeymooning in CA in the winter?|139085

My fiance and I are getting married in January and we are holding off on a big honeymoon, so we will be staying in CA.

  • What is the difference between the two airports in NYC?|111836

What is the distance between them, and how do I know what airport to fly into from Detroit?

  • JFK and LaGuardia are in different places. LaGuardia is more closer to Manhattan and it_s much smaller. LaGuardia is located in Flushing and JFK is around Jamaica...almost next to Brooklyn. It depends what airline you_re buying the tickets from so by there, you_ll know.

  • distance from where u are to the airport or where your going...different times and sometimes prices youll have to look that up

  • LaGuardia Airport has many delays because according to news report, Airport Traffic Control Tower cannot see the planes well because of their building that big.
LaGuardia Airport only mostly used by domestic flights only and it_s small.

John F. Kennedy International Airport is big with less delays.

This site will help you which airports in NYC, and Newark you should avoid.
According to Top Worth Delay for November 2006 was 29.6% for LGA.

    For example my experience.
My Continental Airline 5875 flight at 12:59pm departure arrive LaGuardia Runaway at 13:22.
It was small plane like size of private charter.
Disable with service animal, blind boarded and everyone boardes at 13:50.
We started moving at 14:02, and then takeoff at 14:17 and it arrive at Cleveland Hopkins around 15:39 late!!

  • There is no airtrain from LGA if you plan on taking the subway into the city. Otherwise, I generally go with which airport has the cheaper prices. Both airports have some of the highest rates of delays in the country.

  • Well, generally, JFK has fewer delays. I guess it depends on your utimate destination. JFK is south and La Guardia is North.

  • The distance between them is about 11 miles. LaGuardia is smaller and located in northern Queens, JFK is bigger and located in southern Queens.

From Detroit it_ll be on your flight information. It would be better to fly into JFK though.

  • They about 15 miles from each other. JFK is larger, because it handles international flights, while LaGuardia is small and handles national flights. The only problem with LGA is that there_s always delays whenever there is inclement weather. So you may want to contact you airline before flying to New York.

    Good luck and happy travel

  • The distance between them is like 8 miles or 15 mins away. I would choose JFK, its bigger with less delays. LGA airport is smaller and is first to experience delays from a weather related issue, like rain, heavy wind. You can contact any of the major airlines for pricing, then make your decision. good luck.
  • Whats the difference between going to college in New York City and London?|109745

I want to go to college in one of those two places, and lived in the US my whole life.

So what_s the difference? (Besides the driving on the other side of the road)

  • Massive difference between UK and US college systems that are more important than which is the better city to hang out in for a while.

The biggest difference between UK and US college education is you specialise very early in the UK. There is no such thing as pre-med or pre-law in the UK, you go straight into medicine and you_re a doctor by the time you are 24. Study is a lot more demanding, a UK undergraduate degree is only three years, but it crams in the same amount of stuff a four year US degree does. UK universities rarely have an extensive pastoral support service, it is sink or swim. Students don_t pay the full amount for their fees, just a portion of them, universities are largely funded by the government. This wouldn_t apply to you, as a foreign student you would have to pay full fees.

  • if i lived in the US for all of my life and had the chance to study in London, i_d do it, if only to know that i could take the train to Paris (and from there to the rest of Continental Europe) in only 3 hours!

here_s an idea: go to college in London, and spend a summer term in NYC.

  • Well, the first difference might be transportation costs. And, of course, there are cultural differences. But the big factor is which country can offer you the best education in the area you plan to study.

    Best of Luck to You!
