What areas should I avoid in Chicago as a tourist?|190487

I am going to Milwaukee,WI to visit my aunt and while I_m there I am planning to go to Chicago and explore. What areas, neighborhoods, etc. should I avoid as a tourist?

As a tourist, I assume you will be in downtown Loop area of Chicago. Around Navy Pier, Michigan Ave, Watertower, The Museums. In which case you will be fine. Don_t walk around late at night, don_t go off the beaten path. Keep you eyes are ears open and use common sense.

Im trying to get there reasonably fast and hoping to not spend too much money. I really don_t want to drive the whole way. Are there any alternatives that are not too expensive? Train? Bus?

I know for a fact that Amtrak stops at West Glacier on it_s way from Chicago to Portland /Seattle
So if you could intercept Amtrak at place like Portage WI it could work .
Milwaukee and Glenview IL would also be an option

Realitically 1200 miles is a 1.5 day trip not the 20 hours that mapquest erroneously suggested
and it usually gets broken into 400+ an 800mile day

There is a postal calculator there and all you need to do is to enter the from and to zip codes and the weight of the packaged product. Priority mail from the post office will get it there in 3 to 4 days.
If you do send it priority mail I also suggest that you do a delivery confirmation with it as proof that it was delivered. Doing so will also be a form of tracking should your package get lost or be delayed. Puerto Rico is still considered the United States as far as postage is concerned.

Depends on how long you_re planning on staying here for. There are plenty of attractions to go and see, and if you_re looking for clubs to go to, there are plenty. A lot of nice restaurants to go to and places to shop at. I think you_d have a good time.

It_s so fun. A friend and I went last spring break! You can check out so many sites and Vallejo is like 40 minutes away so you could always go to Six Flags for a day! :D
