What are some activities to do in Orlando FLorida?|150707

I am going to orlando florida from march 19 to march 24. We are flying from chicago. What are some good things to do while in florida. And where are some of the nice beaches?

  • Stayed there not too long ago myself. Here_s the attractions page of the hotel we stayed it, it hits a lot of the big attractions.

You_ll be fairly close to Cocoa Beach from Orlando. It_s located about 60 miles out and is well worth the drive. Really awesome!

  • That_s funny, me and my family will be there then. We are going to a mystery dinner theather on Internation Dr. I have been to Fl. manyh times and this is something I have never done. Daytona is close by and Tampa isnt to far of a drive. All kinds of theme parks as I_m sure you know. There are also airboat trips you can take and the alligator farm is ok also. I think its a little pricey but fun to go once.
Have fun. I know we will.

  • Disney world, universal studios and islands of adventure, Seaworld, Busch gardens, Discovery cove, Aquatica. You will have to drive a bit for a natural beach.

  • ummmm... go to DISNEY WORLD lol. But besides that, there are tons of nice things to do in Florida. Visit Key West or Tampa if you are up for a drive

  • Key West, but not for beaches, more for boating. Beaches, New Smyrna Beach, its a lot less crowded than Daytona
  • Im going to Las Vegas in a week. Are there any tips or tricks to get free stuff or really good coupons?|184231

Besides gambling a lot and getting comps ofcourse.

  • Look for fun books! Sign up for as many players clubs as you can, most give you a discount coupon book (aka fun book) also try the Las Vegas visitors center at the airport or at state line.
Also the crapier the casino is the more deals they_ll have.

  • I hear you can drink and eat tons of food for next to nothing in the casinos. Is that what you ment by comps?

  • Like said before, sign up for players clubs. Its simple and quick and they have freebies usually. Most casinos the drinks are free while you gamble. Also if you want deals, it doesnt hurt to ask. (for example meal coupons and such.)
  • How many places are around the white house building and what are they?|100758

Thanks!!! Your answers are greatly appreciated!!! I would also appreciate if you provide a link to where you got your answer from. Thanks!!!!

  • The White House sits between the US Treasury building and the Old Executive Office building. To the front, across Pennsylvania Avenue is the Blair House, an expensive hotel. To the rear is the Ellipse, a traffic pattern, and the Washington Monument.

I got my answer from an atlas by Rand McNally. On-line, you can get this info from Maquest.com on the maps section.

  • What are the good and bad areas of Austin to live in?|185672

I am moving to Austin in a few months. And, I am going there next week to find housing. What are the good AND bad areas so that I know where to look for a house or apartment.
Also, does anyone have any nice 2 bedroom / 2 bathroom apartment suggestions for my daughter and I? If you have any suggestions can you direct me to their company website so I can look at pictures?
    Thanks so much!

  • East Austin is not as bad as someone above mentioned. South Austin and Downtown are pretty congested with morning and afternoon traffic, but the toll roads are going to be opening soon so this might cut the traffic a little. North Austin and even surrounding towns like Pflugerville, Round Rock, Georgetown and Cedar Park are good places to look. Apartmentguide.com is a good place to look for apartments in Austin. Especially since they have good reviews on the apartments and everything else.

  • It_s really kind of hard to answer that without knowing what appeals to you...I mean, do you want to live in an area that_s closer to Stuff to Do, would you want to be close to the Hike and Bike Trail, or do you want to live in more of a suburb type area? And what_s your price bracket? There are neighborhoods that suddenly got all full of moneyed hipsters and nobody can afford them anymore, but if you can afford it you may want that. Do you want to live close to your job? Etc.

  • I_ve lived all over Austin so I can say there really isn_t a _horrible_ part. I would stay away from East Austin from the Baseball Stadium to well below the River. If you_re looking for an apartment or duplex, check out the Parmer Lane area. Everything you need will be right at your fingertips and not much crime.

  • bad is probably high crime rate.

  • I lived around 620 and Parmer lane, there are a few nice apartment complexes near there. Spraddle Creek Apartments, do a search for that complex.

  • Yes the good areas are all the ones outside the state of texas, and the bad areas are the ones inside the city limits of Austin.
  • What are the number one sights to see in all 50 states?|151774

I_m attempting to find the #1 sight to see for each state. One day, I plan on visiting each state in a mass excursion, and I want to know opinions on the spots to see. Such as, what should I visit in Alabama? What should I see in Alaska? That sort of thing.

  • Alaska...

    Yikes, try picking ONE spot!

  • Well, when you get to West Virginia, you_ll naturally want to see the New River Gorge Bridge. After that, if you_ve got time go down the road about 20 mins and go white water rafting, which generally gets out just before you go under the bridge. Great view.

When you goto Virginia, the Natural Bridge there isn_t worth the time nor the money. On the other hand though Monticello (Thomas Jefferson_s house) is extremely interesting. As well is Mount Vernon (George Washington_s). Richmond is alright but if you miss it you won_t really mis anything.

  • Tennessee-Jack Daniel_s distillery in Lynchburg, or in Nashville, the Grand Ole Opry,
    or of course,
    Graceland!!! in Memphis.

In Nevada-Hoover Dam and Las Vegas
CA- Yosemite National Park, or Lake Tahoe
    AZ-The Grand Canyon
And Philadelphia has Historic Downtown with the Liberty Bell and Independance Hall.

  • Michigan - I don_t know the number 1 recognized sight but Great Lakes, Pictured Rocks, Upper Peninsula in general. Maybe Mackinaw Bridge connecting upper and lower peninsula, yeah that_s it.

  • PA - Philadelphia Art Museum, Lanacaster County Amish World, Hershey Area - Hershey Park

Nothing really good in PA. If you would like one for each state I suggest going to each state_s webpage and requesting a brochure or travel guide. Or visit your local AAA

  • Alabama............Vulcan..Noccalula Falls!!!!!

    Roll Tide Baby!

  • if you like to meet celebrities and shopping: try CA, Hollywood. =)
