How do I get to Brooklyn, to Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue subway station from JFK airport?|112778

I need directions on going from JFK airport to Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue subway station. How do I get there?

  • At JFK, look for the B15 bus. Take that to New Lots Avenue subway station. Transfer to the #3 subway train. Take that to the Kingston Avenue subway station.

You didn_t say what time of day. Between Midnight and 6 AM the #3 is replaced by the #4 train.
  • What is your favorite New Jersey Beach and why?|112380

I have been to many of them but some I have not. I have my own faves. I_m wondering what others think.

  • Spring Lake is very quiet and clean, and has a nice (and preppy) town, but it doesn_t have much of a boardwalk, and you technically can_t eat on the beach. It is my personal favorite.
Sea Girt is very similar, but has even less of a boardwalk and a worse town.
Cape May has a nice town, but the beach is narrow and kind of choppy.
Point Pleasant_s beaches are really busy, with huge crowds who come because of the big boardwalk which has kiddie rides, games, shops, food, etc. The beaches tend to have a lot of trash, and it is really hard to get parking.

  • Well my favorite beach is Sea Isle City because there are so many young people that go there and the bars there are awesome. Its a very small beach though. Its close to Stone Harbor and Avalon which are really nice beaches as well. My next favorite is Ocean City and North Wildwood.
  • Is Myrtle Beach still a family friendly place during Bike Week?|163773

My small family and I are planning a three night trip down to Myrtle Beach (My husband and I along w/ our 2 year old daughter). It just so happens to be during Bike Week. My best friend (who does not live there) said she_s seen pictures of topless chicks riding around on bikes and she said it may not be a good time to go down there. There isn_t really anywhere else we want to go.
I can_t imagine a place being so bad, that a family should avoid it completely. I_d like to here from a local and get their opinion.

  • Hi there. I live here in North Myrtle Beach and have been here for more than a year. I have seen all three _bike_ weeks/weekends.
The fall rally is a lot smaller than the spring rally. The only real problem is the traffic and watching out for bikes.
Um..have yet to see a _topless_ chick on a bike. (During the Memorial Day bike rally there are a lot of questionable outfits--but it is centered around Atlantic Beach anyway.)
Overall I think you would be okay during the fall bike week. If you can, try to find a place closer to the north end of Myrtle Beach or North Myrtle Beach. You can avoid a lot of the traffic that way.
Have a great time! I love it here and don_t ever want to move!

  • You can see that kind of stuff at bars, suck bang blow, the rat hole and other bars that cater to HD riders. I_ve been to 2 bike weeks and also own a home in MB and its a great place to go to, even in bike week. Just watch your speed limit on 17 business and 17 bypass, MBPD really means it when they put up a speed limit.

  • I_m not a local, but I_ve been to other bike weeks and I_ve spoken to people who have been to Myrtle Beach during bike week.

You won_t see women riding around with their tops off. You may, if your lucky see one flash em for a second. The police tend to have zero tolerance for that type of stuff during bike weeks. Most of the really wild stuff will happen at a private business, i.e. a camp ground or a bar. There is a famous bar for bikers in Myrtle Beach called Suck Bang Blow, where they do burn out contests in doors. What you will see a lot of is girls wearing ***-less chaps with a thong and a leather tank top.

The two things about bike week that would keep me away are that the prices for hotels will be higher than normal and I_ve heard that the traffic during bike week is REALLY bad. A local in MB told me about the traffic. From experience in MB not during bike week, the traffic is really bad, if it_s worse during bike week then it must be a parking lot.
  • What does a citizen of Mexico need to travel to the USA for vacation only?|189767

I know we Americans can pretty much go freely with just a passport to other countries, but what if someone from Mexico wants to visit? I have some half brothers who I would like to come visit me someday. What would they need? They are 18 and 20 years old. I know Europeans need a Visa and a lot of other junk unless it is for business or education, but since Mexico is kind of linked, what would they need nowadays especially with the illegal immigration.

  • Most Europeans need only their passport to visit the U.S. Mexican citizens must apply for a B-2 tourist visas through the nearest Mexican embassy or consulate. They must first get a Mexican passport. It is extremely difficult for a Mexican citizen to get a visa to visit the U.S., especially if they are young males and do not own a home or a business. I have witnessed this over and over. The visa officer they have their interview with will presume they will not leave the U.S when they are supposed to, and they must have a way of convincing him they have compelling reasons to return home. This is clearly stated on the visa instruction page and is not just for Mexicans, but for people from every country that is required to have a visa for the U.S. Overstaying and violating visas is a huge problem, that is why it is so very hard to get one. See site below. This is the starting point for applying for a visa. all instructions are there.
  • Where is a good beach to take kids in the Disneyland area?|173720

We are planning a trip to Disneyland next month and want to take the kids to the beach one day. My kids are 2 girls, ages 7 and 9. What are some good places in the Anaheim area? Directions would be helpful also. Thanks!

  • The best place to see beach-wise is Newport Beach. It_s an easy 15 minute drive if you go after the morning rush hour (after 10am) or before the afternoon starts (before 3pm).

Go south on Hwy 5, and then south again on hwy 55. Stay on the 55 until it ends onto Newport Blvd, and just keep going straight. You will end up int the heart of Newport at Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Blvd. From there, it_s easy to find the water, or you could also take a drive around Balboa Island, or Lido Isle (these are both small man-made islands that are easily accessible by bridges). At your hotel, they should be able to give you a map of the area that will make it easier to find your way around.

There_s a really nice shopping center called Fashion Island, if you_re so inclined that has great shops and places to eat that_s not too far down the coast. If you go further south on Coast Highway for another 15 miles or so, you_ll end up in Laguna Beach, which is also VERY nice for scenery although the traffic can be pretty awful, especially in the summertime. It_s still worth the drive, and if you take your time and just meander, it_s a nice day trip to take from Anaheim, down the 55 into Newport and then further down into Laguna Beach. When you_re ready to head back to Anaheim, just go back the way you came - north on Coast Highway, back to Newport Blvd, and turn right until it merges with the 55, and then go north on highway 5 again until Disneyland. For simplicity, that_s probably the easiest.

    Have a great time !!

  • Any OC beach will be fun.
But I would go to Huntington or Bolsa Chica (in Huntington but _officially_ a separate beach). Both are easy to get to and family friendly. There is also, Main St right at the end of the pier to walk around the beach shops.

At the end of the pier is Ruby_s Diner, a _50s style diner. Last time I was there, I saw dolphins, porpoises, and pelicans. This restaurants are on many of the OC piers.

I wouldn_t go to Newport. It_s not 15 mins anytime, it_s probably 30 mins without traffic and add the summer time beach traffic - it could be 1 hour after getting off the freeway.

  • If you_re in Anaheim, you can take Magnolia, Beach or Brookhurst all the way down to Huntington Beach. Probably the least complicated way to get to a beach from Anaheim.

But all the beachs in OC are beautiful: Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar...

  • There is no beach in Anaheim, but go down to Corona Del Mar, its a nice beach, and has tide pools for them to look at too. A hill to climb to the lil secluded beach, and gated off sea cave. My kids loved going there.
  • What are people in Seattle looking for in a roommate?|173323

And where is the best place to look? Craigs list just sends me fake people from God knows what country. Alot of places out here seem to be co-ed and that is not what I am looking for. I am out of ideas.

  • Then go through a roommate-placing agency instead of trying to do it for free.

And delete the dupe of this question - a bit annoying you asked it twice.

  • Someone hot who they can slip it in when they_re drunk together, wake up and act like nothing happened.

  • Check the PI/Seattle Times and Seattle Weekly and The Stranger as well to find more listings. Try the online versions of those papers which usually has more updated ads.

  • Walk around the University district! Plenty of places around there have signs hanging from the building saying *roommates needed, rooms available*. Even if you aren_t a student at UW, a good amount of places will take you anyways.
