What is the cheapest way to get from Fort Lauderdale to the port of miami for a cruise to the bahamas?|145366

Southwest doesn_t fly into Miami, it goes to Fort Lauderdale instead, so we won_t have a car, but we need to get to miami for the departure of our cruise. Anyone know the easiest and cheapest way to do that?

  • For lots of options, and suggestions from people who have done it, go to CruiseCritic.com, click on _Boards_ at the top of the page, then go to _East Coast Departures_.

You can also go to the FLL airport website and click on _ground transportation_ to see what options there are.

Using the cruise line transfer service is probably a good option, although you_ll have to wait for the bus to fill up both ways.

If you_re going down the day before [which is always a good idea] you can stay in a hotel in Miami that has a shuttle to the port. Get a _Super Shuttle_ van from FLL to your Miami hotel.

  • Your best bet is to go through the cruise line that you are taking your cruise on. Its also more beneficial for your trip that you use their shuttle services. By doing so, the cruise line knows what flight your coming in on and if the flight is delayed, they will know about and do whatever they can to accommodate you. More then likely, there are lots of people in the same position as you flying into FLL for a cruise out of Miami. I know that Carnival Cruise lines has a shuttle service from FLL to the Port of Miami for a fee. DO NOT take a taxi unless its your last resort. I work in downtown fort Lauderdale, and have taken a taxi from work to the airport on several occasions. A short 4 mile trip usually costs w/tip about 20 dollars!! So for a trip from the airport to the port of Miami will cost you a LOT of money.

  • Not off of the top of my head. However when you decide how you want to do it, go to the below website and put in how you plan on doing it. I have found it to be VERY useful and usually quite a bit cheaper than other places I_ve been to. Just click on the link then go to _book travel_ and it is pretty simple from there.

  • drive, its only like 45 miles, then you can park your car at the pier and pay the daily parking fee.

  • Check Brisatrips.com, they often have cheaper prices. I normally book my Travel on sites that offer good deals like that one.
    Good luck!

  • There are shuttles that take you from FLL to the Post in MIA for $30.00 A PERSON,
  • How does transfering between MUNI and BART work?|126552

I am new to SF. I have an interview on Friday in Oakland.

To get to the interview I will have to take a MUNI bus, then BART. On the way back it will be the opposite.

The MUNI website only has information for transfers that start BART -_ MUNI then are MUNI -_ BART on the return trip (the opposite of what I need).

How do transfers work in my situation?

  • When you_re going BART to Muni, there_s a machine before you exit BART; push a button and get a discount coupon, which you give the bus driver with the printed discount fare.
When you_re going Muni to BART, there is no such option.

It might make more sense to just hold on to the transfer from the first Muni ride, on your way to the interview. Get one when you get on; it should still be valid upon your return, which means your return bus rude is free. If the first transfer is expired when you return, then you can get the coupon for a (25cent?) discount on the return bus trip.

  • You don_t really get a transfer per se, you just get a very small discount on your fare. It_s not a huge deal, and I wouldn_t worry about it to save a quarter on the fare.
  • Where I can find the cheapest Disney World tickets?|195628

I planning on going on vacation with a friend to Orlando,Florida and need to find the best prices for Disney World. Websites, Cubs, Programs...anything will help.

  • I found an article on the subject for you. It should have all the info you need. Here you go...

  • If you know any Florida Residents, I suggest that you ask them to buy the tickets because Floridians are getting major deals with the tickets. If you don_t know any Florida Residents, then buy a Disney ticket with 3 days or more (with the _no expiration_ option) because you will waste your money by getting a 1 or 2 day ticket. The best place to buy your tickets is at any Disney discount ticket seller or directly through Disney. Don_t buy tickets on any Disney discounted ticket website because you will be paying for the ticket/s AND shipping. One place to get Disney discounted tickets is Yeehaw Junction on the Florida Turnpike.

  • Disney tickets are the same everywhere, so buy at your hotel lobby ( they might give you discounted tickets for other shows etc as a bonus )
Universal tickets and Tampa tickets are cheapest on line.
For other places, take brochures from hotel lobby that have discount coupons in them.
Kennedy should be bought on site where you can understand their additional tours etc in person before going for them

  • Disney is not like a lot of other regional-oriented theme parks that might have discounts at the local grocery store or something. Disney keeps a very tight hold on their tickets and doesn_t really allow discounts. You will want to purchase from Disney or from an authorized ticket dealer, such as AAA,
    http://www.mapleleaftickets.com
    or
    http://www.undercovertourist.com

You can get very small discounts from places like this.

  • In addition to the other answers: The _per day_ price of a magic your way entry ticket goes down the more days you purchase. If you purchase a 10-day pass the per day price will be less than if you purchase a 2-day pass. We go for 5 days at-a-time, but we buy a 10-day pass and pay extra for no expiration. The next time we don_t have to buy ANY tickets. The following time we get the 10-day pass... etc...etc...etc...

  • Orlando Fun Tickets is where I usually get mine. They even have the specials like buy three days get two free (I just used that for my trip last week). They will mail your tickets to you, you can pick them up at their office, or they will send them directly to your resort. I highly recommend them.

  • Honey my advice to you is to go directly to Disney. They have a lay away plan that you can do and pay them off in time. This is what we always do.

  • Check out
    http://www.homefromhomeflorida.com/ticke
for a good reliable discount ticket supplier.

  • There are only three ways to get substantial discounts on WDW tickets:
    AAA members
    US military
    Fl resident

A few travel agents such as under cover tourist offer slight discounts.

  • AAA

  • Triple A(AAA) is good or like costco travel, or like if u book your flight with priceline they give you discounts

  • aaa...all the way!
  • Does anyone know any haunted hollywood tours that are good in Hollywood and have possibly experienced?|159783

I have been to Hollywood plenty of times but I decided for my Spring Break I want to see a new side, my boyfriend and I want to try one of those haunted tours has anyone been on one or has one to recommend?

  • Here is one company. The Starline Bus company also offers haunted tours. Go to the Hollywood/Highland mall customer service area. They can hook you up with special tours and all consierge services for Southern California
  • How Long does it take to do Disney World.?|149752

3 of my friends and I are planning to go to Disney-world for graduation in 2011 and were wondering how long we should plan to spend in the parks

We don_t plan to go to any of the water parks, just The Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood studios and Animal Kingdom.

We would also like at least half a day shopping in Downtown Disney.

We_re planning to go in July, which I know is peak season, so the parks may be busy. And we_re also planning to stay in a disney hotel, so we get the extra time in the morning and at night.

    What would you recommend?

  • On average, most people plan one full day for Hollywood Studios, one full day for Animal Kingdom, two full days for Magic Kingdom, and two full days for Epcot. And you still won_t see it all. It_s better to just read up and see what will work for you and what you want to do. By-the-way, while crowds are important, it is more important to have a good plan. Get yourself a copy of The Unofficial Guide To Walt Disney World and maybe see:
    http://www.associatedcontent.com/article

  • Honestly, I_ve been to Disney over 20 times in my life and have never done all Disney World has to offer.

Magic Kingdom is a large park and if you want to do it all, it will take you at least two days especially during a busy season. Epcot is also large and if you want to do the walk around the World Showcase it will take extra time. Animal Kingdom has easily be done in one day, don_t go their when it_s raining there is nowhere to hide. Hollywood Studios will take you two days if you want to see every show they have to offer, if you just want to pick and chose, one day will be fine. Downtown Disney is sort of funner to shop at night with all the lights and nightlife going on.

    Have a great trip!

  • I_ve been there over 20 times and I_d say you can knock out the parks in 3 days. W/ the extra magic hours it gives you a ridiculous amount of time to accomplish everything you wanna do. So I_d say 3 days if you got the park hopper if not than 4. But you can seriously knock out 2 parks in a day if you_ve been before and only like certain things.

  • magic kingdom- 2 days
    epcot- 1 day
    hollywood studios- 1 day
animal kingdom- 1/2-3/4 of a day
one day to relax in the morning and early afternoon and then go to downtown disney for a few hours.

so about 6 days in total.

and depending on your budget i recommend these disney world hotels.
value resort (least expensive)- POP CENTURY
moderate resort (moderately priced)-PORT ORLEANS FRENCH QUARTER
deluxe resort (most expensive)- THE CONTEMPORARY

  • Well me and my boyfriend are planning to do all four parks in two days. We are staying at a Disney Resort Hotel so we get to use the extra magic evening hours. We_re doing Animal Kingdom and Epcot the first day, and MGM and Magic Kingdom the second day. We have both been before and since it_s just the two of us, we can skip over the rides we don_t like.

If you like to go fast this would be a good way to do it but if not a week should be enough time.

  • Stay for a week. You_ll get to do everything. EVERYTHING.

And if you want to do alot in one day, when you purchase the tickets, make sure to add the Park Hopper option so you can flip flop to different parks a day.

  • It will take you a week to at least experience all of what you want to do. If you want to see and ride everything, it will take you longer.

  • We go for 2 weeks every year and it isn_t long enough. You need at least one week no less

  • I actually just came back from Disney on July 19 th and I would suggest staying for at least a week. The parks were crowded and the waits were on average about 90 minutes for some of the bigger rides like Splash Mountain and Test Track. But if you take advantage of the morning and afternoon magic hours and fast passes you will be able to do all of the major attractions in 1 park in about a half of day! We just did all four parks in two days! Granted we skipped some of the smaller rides but it can be done. Check out my guide below. There are several tips and tricks you can use to get around the lines. Hoped this helped!

  • Well, I would recommend doing a 7 day trip. This allows you some time to relax and enjoy Orlando/Disney property. If you drive down, you could even drive to Clearwater Beach, or go shopping at the outlets! Downtown Disney doesn_t have much non-Disney merch. If you don_t, you can choose to go back to your favourite parks! I would get a 5 Day park hopper + water parks _ more fun option added on to your passes. Look for some promo_s like Buy 4 Nights, Get 3 Nights free, and the Disney dining plan.

The water parks are awesome - you really should go! :) You can add it on to your Disney passes. They are for sure worth going to. My friend and I went on our last trip to Florida (June 27-July 11) and fell in love with Typhoon Lagoon! (if you miss the beach, this is the place to go) and Blizzard Beach has some awesome _thrill_ water slides! We went July 3rd, and the parks were closed to capacity (waterparks). The parks close to capacity on July 4th. Seriously, busy busy busy (the above poster probably hasn_t been around July 4th if they say it_s not busy).

The parks WILL be busy. It is one of the busiest times of the year. Save money by staying at the Value resorts. All the magic of Disney, for a budget! Plus, you get use of Extra Magic Hours and Disney transportation. If you fly you can use the Magical Express. Moderate resorts are nicer, and I would go with Port Orleans French Quarter, or Caribbean Beach. As for Deluxe, Beach Club wins hands down because of Stormalong Bay (sand bottom pool)

If you have any more questions, send me a message :)
    Hope this helps

  • I would honestly go for as long as your budget allows, I have been to Disney almost every year since I was born (I_m now 23) and I_ve been at all different times, stayed at different hotels and gone as a family trip, a friends trip and just me and my boyfriend. While July isn_t as crowded as Christmas, it is still crowded and HOT! So I would suggest the following plan: Stay at a Disney hotel so you can use their transportation, extra magic hours and pool, I would also get the park hopper tickets and get to one park when it opens in the morning use your fastpass to do as many attractions as you can by lunch and then leave and go back to your hotel to relax by the pool (the heat and crowds are the worst in the afternoon and you_ll be glad to have the time to cool down and rest) After your day at the pool, go to a different park at night for dinner and more attractions (make dinner reservations as far in advance as you can as they fill up very fast) My boyfriend and I used this system when we went last September and we were able to go to each park more than once, downtown, and a waterpark in 5nights/6days. I would recommend joining a disney discussion board so that disney experts can answer all of your questions and you can see their trip reports, touring plans and suggestions, I use disboards.com and it_s really great! Have a great time with the mouse!

  • oh man you are talking like a 3-4-5 day trip.
    im a disneyland freakkkk/disneyworld freakkkk

    i love it.
so i would set aside a week for this trip.
itll be worth it though. :)

    although i must say..
disneyland is better to me lol
    indiana jones ride!!!

  • It_ll take more than one day to do what you guys are planning to do.

  • In July, the parks surprisingly aren_t that busy. It_s nothing like Christmas or New Years, trust me. I_ve been. It is right after Star Wars Weekend has ended and before the Food and Wine Festival begins, so it_s a good time to go.

Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, Disney Hollywood Studios, you can do in a day. Roughly a morning if you take advantage of the Early Morning Hours.

What I usually do when I_m in Disney is doing one of the smaller parks in the morning, and then eating lunch at a resort, then heading to Epcot. Epcot is HUGE, and unless you feel like walking a lot in one day, I suggest you do this in separate days. Remember that the tickets get cheaper per day the more days you go. Downtown Disney opens up at 10 am, buses begin running at 9:15-9:30. You can make a morning (or night of that). You can head to a park in the morning, catch a bus to the Saratoga Springs and take a boat to Downtown Disney, or you can go to your resort and catch a bus. It depends on if you want fast or leisurely. You can eat lunch at one of the many yummy restaurants in Downtown Disney and shop all night. House of Blues also has concerts nightly.
