Are there any programs in Alaska that help with relocating?|181588

I live in NY and I_m interested in moving to Alaska and would greatly appreciate any information on programs that could help further the process. I know that I can attend a college up there, but I_d have to wait until fall of this year to do so. So, I_m looking for any programs/jobs that offer relocating or training. Something I can do in the meantime.

  • you can contact the chamber of commerce for the city that you are interested in....be for warned: not a lot of jobs available away from fast food/restaurants. The state is not encouraging people to move there unless they have a usable skill or education
  • Do you know the average cab fare from the stratosphere to the strip in las vegas?|136403

I am traveling to las vegas this weekend and I have always stayed at the MGM. I was considering saving some money and staying at the stratosphere. Will the amount of money I spend on cab fares to get to the main part of the strip outweigh the money saved with staying at the stratosphere? Basically trying to be economical but if I am not really going to save money I will probably stay at the MGM. Thanks for any help!

  • You can still save money without having to worry about transportation. the cheapest fare for Stratosphere that I see from Fri-Sun is $244.82 for 2 nights. That is more than $100/night.

Excalibur is located across from MGM Grand, so you will be in the same location and the total price for a standard room for Fri and Sat night is $282.31, which is only $40 more than Stratosphere.

But if you want to stick to Stratosphere, you can either use the _Deuce_ and pay $5 for an all-day pass to go up and down the strip, or you can walk to Sahara and use their Monorail station for transportation. 3 days on the bus is $15, 3 days on the monorail is $28.
    Good Luck!

  • I_ve stayed at the Stratosphere and really loved it. The pool and spa was great and the kingsize bed was absolutely comfortable . The tower at night was awesome and we had a great meal there. We didn_t get a cab down to the strip and it would depend how far down you want to go for the price. We got on the bus and I_m sure a cab would take just as long getting down the strip as the bus.

  • The Stratosphere hotel is on the Vegas strip (the North part) You don_t need a cab to get to the central strip. What you will need is a day-pass on the deuce (bus) which will pick you up in front of Stratosphere drop you off on any part of the strip.

  • I think the cab fare is more than $7. why not get a multiday pass on the Las Vegas monorail which you can pick up at the Sahara hotel which is close to the Stratosphere. The monorail goes to the MGM and all the hotels in between.

  • The Stratosphere is way away from the main Strip casinos and not an area you want to walk at night. Stay at the MGM and have better access.

  • From the Stratosphere to center strip is about 7$ fare. Its only about 2 miles.

  • The bus during the day a cab after 9pm.
  • What city in the USA is the best spot for a tourist who just wants to get drunk and rowdy and have a fun time?|137763

Please exclude Vegas from this as its the obvious answer. I want other places besides that. To help with your answer im 23, and australian.

  • I always meet Aussies and they always say that New York City is there favorite place on the US! I_m from New York, so my opinion may be biased; but if I were in your shoes, i would chose them in this order:
    1. New York City
    2. Miami
    3. San Diego

Chose wisely and I hope you enjoy your trip! You have one hell of a fight! Stay safe bro.

  • if you want to get drunk and rowdy and have a good time with a bunch of other people doing the same, go somewhere in the southern US. and not florida, southern, like texas, oklahoma, southern. i just don_t think many other cities know how to get drunk and rowdy and have fun like those in oklahoma and texas. you don_t have to spend alot of money to get drunk and rowdy is what cowboys do best! well, second best, and you don_t have to gamble or be in a big city like new york or whatever else others suggested. seriously, i live in oklahoma city and i ordinarily don_t promote oklahoma as any kind of place to be, but for what it sounds like you_re lookin for, you won_t find a better place than here, or dallas/ft worth (texas) or another big city in texas. you get the big city convenience of having hundreds of places to choose from, but you don_t get the big city feel of suits and _the metro lifestyle_.

  • Since I live in Las Vegas, I cannot recommend a better place to party, It_s one of the safest places, if you stay in one of the resorts and people are used to party goers. Sorry, that I did include it, but it is still the best to party.

  • i cant believe nobody said the French Quarter in new orleans, especially during Mardi Gras....no where beats the french quarter for debauchery and rowdiness!!!!

  • San Francisco, California =D

  • Miami would be good, but would be a hell of a flight for you.
I_ve had good times in Hawaii before.
