Where in the Channel islands should we hike?|139015

Hello, my Grandma and I are going out to the Channel Islands on Spring Break, and I was wondering whcih trails we would be able to hike. We are looking at Anacapa and Santa Cruz islands, as these have the easisest trails and coolest views. I am in perfectly able condition to hike almost any of the trails, though my grandma maybe not. She would discribe her physical condition as _moderate_, and could do quite a bit, but does not want steep climbs.

Please give a detailed list!

Thanks!

  • Check with
    http://www.trails.com/tcatalog_trail.asp

For like $8 you can get access to their site and they have all the trails for the Channel Islands. If you hike a lot this is one great site! I hike a lot and I love this site! I use if frequently for my hikes in NC, NM and Colorado.

Hiking with your Grandma - that is so cool!!!
  • How long does it take to fly to Colorado Springs?|128984

From San Diego, how long would it take to fly to Colorado Springs. And how many miles is that? Also, do you have any idea how much that would cost? Thanks!

  • It really depends on if you have a connecting flight. go to cheaptickets.com and type in all the info and it can tell you everything. if you fly into denver at DIA it would be about a one and a half hour to 2 hour drive to CO Springs.

  • I suggest calling your local travel agent. They will be able to answer all of your questions. Good luck.
  • What is the best car towing service throughout the midwest?|162216

I am a Canadian driving through the midwest in a week. I am a little worried about the reliability of my vehicle and would like to know a good company that Americans rely on to call anywhere in the midwest. Thanks for your help:)

  • It is best to have a motor club membership. There is not a company that can be called anywhere in the midwest. The companies are all local, not regional.

  • Towing companies are pretty local guys. Some of them advertise that they work with AAA (American Automobile Association). They are usually reliable. If you break down in northern Michigan or Wisconsin, it won_t help to have the name of a towing service in southern Indiana or Illinois.

  • Join AAA. According to AAA it is known as CAA in Canada. All benefits are reciprical. Call from Canada...800-268-3750:

  • What do you absolutely love about the people who live in your city?|173314

This question is for any city, not just Los Angeles, where I live.

I love the fact that people will exercise every morning, running, walking or whatever, but they will drive around the block 16 times to get a parking space in front of a restaurant.

I love the fact that flip flops and bandanas are standard wardrobe items.

  • Absolutely nothing!

  • I_m from N. OC...I love that most people around here are tourists that will be leaving soon.

Also, I love sporting the flip flops :) It_s a staple.

  • What I love about the people in my city: courtesy, private space around you not invaded unless its a pick-pocketer. Helpful bus drivers.

Controversy: bad people, ones looking to pick-pocket you. Ones looking away when in need of help.

  • the people in San Francisco are awesome. it is a very diverse city filled with many different cultures. The people are friendly and the city itself is amazing! I also like the fact that the ppl here in SF are very loyal to the SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS! WHOO!!

    SF ROCKS!

  • Not so sure there_s much I love about the folks in Columbus, OH.

Sales people are very nice, and people really, really love their lawns.

  • What I love about the people in my city? Hmmm...well, I_m not used to the people in the city I_m currently in, but in my hometown, which is a LOT smaller, I love every one knew every one else, and if something ever happened to you, your family would know within the hour.

On a more sarcastic note, what i looooved about the people in my city was that half the time, they complained about nothing to do *it was a town populated by 900 people, and the only thing to do was either go to the park, or drive around the school parking lot, or hang out at the diner*, but they didn_t feel like driving the 15 miles to the _big city_ in our books where we had to go to pretty much do ANYTHING. ha.

  • I am from a small town where everybody knows each other. We all help each other when needed. Everyone is kind here. I would not want to live any of place

  • I love that the people in the city I live in (Bakersfield, CA.) are friendly and kind. When I am stranded on a lonely road, the most unseemly looking characters will stop and ask if I need help and I have never had any fear of them. Even during the holidays when everyone is looking for a parking spot at a Target, a Wal-Mart, or a mall, the people where I live are still courteous to each other. I love that most about where I live.

  • I love the fact that everyone has a shortcut to drive 1 mile.

I love the fact that there are more Prius, BMW, and Mercedes owners than any other car. And that everyone has at least one car.

I love the fact that people come here for holiday.

I love the fact LA still has it_s boroughs.

  • I live in Fl.,I love the people because I am close to the beach and people come from all over for vacations..some stay and live here and some don_t. I grew up in Michigan, and have run into more than one classmate who was down here on vacation..I LOVE FLORIDA

  • People in my city, Honolulu, are generally very nice and helpful people. Honolulu is known as the city of Aloha. Aloha means love or to show love. There_s not many places you can travel to, or live in where people are characterized by an unconditional love (or hospitality) that is shown to complete strangers, for no other reason, but to be helpful or kind.

  • What I love about the people in my city is their kindness, generosity, and friendliness. People in my city help those who are less fortunate. People in my city will chit chat with you in the grocery stores. People in my city will also help those who are having car problems, health problems, etc.

  • I live in Lexington, TN

I love the way that people will help those they don_t even know. This pertains to just the people you meet on the street and those who volunteer on the Fire Department

  • There isn_t anything I love, or even like, about the people who live in my city

  • I live in L.A.....Encino to be exact.
I like that there is people from every nationality live here...it keeps things interesting! I love the weather (most of the time) and that you can wear flip flops all year long! I love Ventura Blvd. because there are so many unique shops.
I don_t like that a lot of the people in Encino think that they_re awesome and think that they can drive like @!#holes! The only other thing I don_t like is that the Ralphs on Ventura Blvd. is twice as expensive as the other ones just because it_s on Ventura!
