How good are the Columbia summer programs in new york city?|155581

i just got into the stock market program at columbia summer program. has anyone gone on any other program and was it not a waste of time?

  • The summer programs admit just about anyone who is willing to pay, but that doesn_t mean they are no good. I_m sure you_ll learn a lot and have some fun in NYC. You_ll get out of it whatever you put into it.

During the summer, most students at NYU and Columbia go home, so both schools use their summer programs to gain some extra revenue and to fill classes which would be otherwise be empty.

I_ve taken summer classes at both NYU and Columbia and they were not bad at all. In fact, campus will be nice and empty which is a nice change from the hectic fall and spring semesters.

In summary, as long as you_ll be studying something you are interested in and the credits transfer to another program which would give you some kind of terminal degree or certificate, I don_t see any problem with taking part in one of these summer programs.

    Have fun!

  • I_m doing that program, too. It seems like a really good time to study the stock market, as well, so I don_t think it_ll be a bad experience. Especially since Wall Street is right there.
