How easy is it to get from Anaheim into LA?|111298

I am planning a honeymoon to America next year. We are planning to spend a couple of days in Anaheim ( We have never been to Disneyland) we would also like to spend one day in LA - visiting a couple of the usual touristy things. I have been told that we would have to hire a car to get from Anaheim to LA but neither my fiance or I are keen on the idea of driving in another country with different road rules etc We have also been told taxis can be pretty expensive. Would it be possible to use public transport or should we give up on the idea and spend the extra time with Mickey?

  • well from Anaheim you do have a couple of choices
there is a direct bus from Anaheim to downtown Los Angeles
the cost would be $2.25 for the trip or you could get a day pass
for $5.00 +1.00 for freeway zone charges)
the day pass would be good all day including the subway if you wanted to go Hollywood or Universal studios
another alternative is to use Metrolink from the Anaheim Metrolink/Amtrak station to Union station (hold on to your metrolink ticket as it acts a like pass on connecting transit
(including the subway to Hollywood or Gold line to Pasadena

  • Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I_m sure you will enjoy your honeymoon in Anaheim.

There are several ways to get to the _touristy_ areas of Los Angeles from Anaheim. It_s only about 30 Km. or so. There is the city bus system, a commuter train, and commercial guided tour companies that might meet your needs. I know you said you didn_t want to rent/hire a car, but that would be the most convenient means of travel. Traffic laws are fairly common world wide, and the traffic really isn_t that unbearable (or maybe I_m just used to it). Welcome to the United States and enjoy your stay.

When it gets closer to your _special_ day post this question again, and we can give you more specific ideas.

  • its only 30 minutes drive, but I suggest you stay in orange county, more to see and do, and less crime. If you want to go to LA then take the train, and use the metro, very efficient, cheap, and fast.

  • 1. take shuttle to lax from disneyland.
    2. take private shuttle ($70 approx).
    3. not sure about trains, but try amtrak from anaheim to union station.
  • Where is a good place to meet nice people in Los Angeles on a weeknight?|124591

I_m a bit of a socially anxious guy in my late 20s. I just want to meet some nice people who aren_t stuck up and judgemental. I prefer to go out on weeknights and not on weekends because I am intimidated by large groups of people.

  • If you think you might be interested in a support group this one is held on a Wednesday night. I_ve heard it_s a pretty good group that also does some social activities together. I thought of going but it_s too far from where I live, etc.

  • How long would it take to ship something from Washington to Wisconsin?|108335

  • ask the shipper. this is not a travel question.
  • Wheres the coolest place to be for Halloween in the United States?|134224

I want to take a trip towards the end of October to some state that really knows how to celebrate Halloween. What I dont want is Halloween in Hawaii, or Halloween in Arizona. I want some place that captures the essence of autumn, pumpkin carving contests, street masquerades, themed food and drink, those fun houses where people jump out at you.

Some place where the leaves are beautiful and the culture is inviting, fun, and classically cool.

    Got any ideas?

  • Salem, Mass. Maybe they have a witch_s convention. Or Eerie, Indiana. Maybe Hell, Michigan is having devil of a time.

  • Ybor city, just outside of Tampa, the best
