How do I get from Seattle airport to Forks with a rental car?|102577

Hey, my sister and I are driving from Seattle airport to Forks Washington (BIG FAN OF TWILIGHT) any ideas how to get there?

  • Try using mapquest.
  • What is the best city in Colorado to live in?|100486

My boyfriend and I are thinking about moving after we are married and we are trying to decide which city in Colorado would be the best to live in. We are looking for a place that the cost of living is not outrageous and has a good job market (preferably in health care). We are looking for a place that is pretty and scenic. Also somewhere that has things to do and places to go (within reasonable distance). And good place to raise a family. Any answers would be great. Thanks!

    Thanks!

  • I have to go with Colorado Springs. It_s definitely pretty and scenic-- nestled right up against the foothills and Pikes Peak. Gorgeous views everywhere you go. Tons of hiking and biking trails.

    We love living here.

Plenty of things to do in town, and within 5-30 minutes there is lots more: state parks, reservoirs, mountain towns, etc.

The cost of living is also reasonable, and I think health care (fortunately) has a good market everywhere now-a-days.

    Good luck!

  • Highlands Ranch, Littleton, or Fort Collins. Take your pick. Both Highlands Ranch and Littleton are suburbs on the south side of town with easy access to the mountains. They both have extremely close access to the Denver health care system. Fort Collins is farther north (about an hour) but is consistently voted one of the top 3 small cities in the country to live in because of its amenities and such. My wife and I moved out to Colorado a year ago, our favorite is Highlands Ranch. It_s close to the city but is removed enough where we feel that we can escape at night. Check out www.city-data.com for more info. :)

  • Both Colorado springs and Ft. Collins were named best cities in the U.S. to live in for their size and meet your requirements. Living somewhere along the Front Range...between Pueblo and the Wyoming border is great...within easy reach of many activities, good shopping, great cities. You will LOVE Colorado.

  • Denver!
  • How do I go about moving from England to New York City?|147199

I_ve been considering moving to Manhattan from a town in England near London, and I have no idea how to look for help on organizing how it needs to be done, in terms of all the legal requirements, immigration laws, an apartment, job etc.

I_ve just finished a BA degree in Graphic Design, and New York is obviously a very affluent city with an enormous design society. So I_m also wondering how I would apply for jobs in a city so far away.

If anyone could help guide me in the right direction that would be great!

  • US companies have to prove that they cannot hire a US worker over a foreign worker. It costs them money to bring you in.

Normally it is worth sifting through such red tape if the foreign worker can demonstrate that they have an exceptional skill-set to offer the company.

Unfortunately, a BA in Graphic Design will not be enough.

However, New York is not completely closed to you. I suggest you apply to work for an agency that has offices in both London _ New York. Apply for a London position, prove your worth and then later on apply internally to be transferred to the New York office.

  • Well I dont know about the immigration laws but as for a job I would suggest you check out craigslist and other job sites such as yahoo jobs or something else there are a lot of jobs for graphic design tell them your situation and certain places can try to get you settled in an apartment or something, doesnt happen all the time but you could be really good at graphic design where they may want you. As for an apartment I would check craigslist thats where I found my apartment but just be careful there are some scams, sometimes it helps if you know someone in nyc to go check out the place for you and see if its legit. Hope this helps

  • You won_t be able to move to NYC with a BA in Graphic Design. The only realistic way for a Brit to get a working visa (H1-B) for the US would be to have a skill set that is in need and have an employer sponsor you. No employer is going to sponsor a BA in Graphic Design. Think more like PhD in Chemical Engineering.

  • You will need a work visa from the company.. I think it_s best to apply to company that will support and give you a work visa.

Maybe apply online or take a travel trip here first and apply for interviews.
