When does the season typically open for winter skiing and snowboarding?|139836

I am going to go to either CA, UT, WY or CO to snowboard. I know it varies due to the climate, but does anyone know what the where the earliest openings for resorts are. What states, areas, etc?

When it snows...whenever that is.

Resorts generally open around Thanksgiving, sometimes sooner depending on snowfall.
