What are some liberal cities outside of the Northeast and the West Coast?|183478

I am talking about cities like: Lawrence, Kansas; Austin, Texas; and Boulder, Colorado. Do you know of any other cities that have a population that is interested in green technology, tolerant of diversity, accepting of the non-religious, etc?

  • Milwaukee, WI
    Asheville, NC

  • Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Raleigh Durham area is pretty liberal due to the college students and technology jobs. Ashville, Cleveland, Northern Virginia as well.

  • ...wow, after reading that question, I_m going out and burn a pile of truck tires and throw a bunch of grocery store plastic bags out in the wind to blow around... I think I_ll do it in the Name of Jesus !

  • Minneapolis is very liberal.

  • Well, I_m going to guess Chicago since The Obama_s are from there and he_s Liberal.

  • How much International Reply Coupons do i need in a letter that i am sending to the USA from Australia?|118069

I_m gonna send a C4 sized letter to the USA and i live in Australia. I bought a few IRCs but i dont know how many to put in the letter. In order for them to respnd in the USA to Australia in a C4 sized envelope. How many IRCs do they need. Do IRCs exchange differently in different countries? How many do i need to send one to the UK?

I_m an amateur when it comes to the postal service.

  • it looks like you only need one according the USPS website
    which I copied here

    International Reply Coupons

International reply coupons (IRCs) provide foreign addressees with a prepaid means of responding to inquiries, solicitations, or other types of communications that are initiated by U.S. senders. IRCs are exchangeable for postage stamps by postal administrations in member countries of the Universal Postal Union (UPU). Each IRC is equivalent in value to the destination countrys minimum postage price for an unregistered airmail letter. The purchase price is $2.10 per coupon.

As of October 11, 2007, only international reply coupons printed by the Universal Postal Union can be redeemed at U.S. Post Offices. The valid version of the international reply coupons printed by the Universal Postal Union is approximately 3.75 inches by 6 inches, has a barcode on the back, and has an expiration date of December 31, 2009. This policy is for international reply coupons issued by the United States as well as for those issued by foreign postal administrations.

  • Most Americans don_t know what an International Reply Coupon is. Would it be something like the amount of postage?

You may get better answers by asking this question in the _AUSTRALIA_ section, or by calling your local post office and asking for the rates for international mail.
  • What hotels can i have like 10 girls and 1 adult?|117002

It has to be a hotel in Los Angeles. Its for my 13th birthday party. Im inviting about 9 girls plus me and my mom, it would be great if my mom could have a room that is connected but there is a wall seperating the two rooms. I would like it to be a nice but not crazy expensive hotel. Thanks so much!

  • For 10 people you are going to need more than 2 rooms. No way around it. And it_s going to be expensive no matter what...

  • What parts of the US attracts the least overseas tourists?|198376

If a couple from Europe wanted to visit and go to a part where there would be no other tourists, where should they go? Mississippi perhaps, or Alabama?

  • Try South Dakota.

  • Mississippi or Alabama? You are reallyl aiming for the asshole of the country. I_m from the US and wouldn_t want to visit either of those states.

You could also try Kentucky or West Virginia if you want some serious red neck hill billies to mess up your holiday.

  • Anywhere rural without attractions will have few - if any - tourists. Note that anywhere with no tourists will also have little in the way of traveler support (few hotels _ restaurants, etc.). That would be as true of rural New York state as in Mississippi.

  • Helena Montana. Heck even Americans don_t want to visit there.
  • What train do I take from Yankee Stadium to go to World Trade Center and other places of interest?|182916

I will be in New York next week . Never been before and would love to see some of the sites.
I am going to a Yankee Game. How do I get from the stadium to the World Trade Center?
What about Central Park? The Empire State Building?

  • The B, D and 4 trains run from Yankee Stadium down into Manhattan, right through the middle of it. In particular, the B or D train will stop at 86th, 79th and 72nd St right next to Central Park, and at 34th St. right next to the Empire State. You will then want to switch to the A, C, E or 1, 2, 3, or N/R trains to go down to the WTC. Here_s a great Web guide to NYC that is well written and organized and will tell you how to find out anything about NYC

    http://www.findingdulcinea.com/guides/Tr

  • My friend, from Yankee Stadium, you can take the Manhattan-bound (southbound) _B_ or _D_ trains (Orange Line) to 59th Street. Once there you can transfer to the downtown (southbound) _A_ or _C_ trains (Blue Line) to the Chambers Street-WTC.

To go to the Empire State Building from WTC site, take the uptown (northbound) _A_, _C_ or _E_ trains (Blue Line) from Chambers Street-WTC to West 4th Street. At West 4th Street, transfer downstairs to the _B_, _D_, _F_ or _V_ trains (Orange Line). Take the uptown (northbound) train from West 4th Street to 34th Street.

When you exit the subway at 34th Street, walk east 1 block from the subway station to 5th Avenue and 34th Street.

From the Empire State Building to Central Park, well are several ways to get there by subway.

Option 1: take the Queens-bound (northbound) _F_ train (Orange Line Local) from 34th Street to 57th Street. When you get there, exit the subway and walk 2 blocks north along 6th Avenue to 59th Street.

Option 2: take the Queens-bound (northbound) _N_, _R_ or _W_ trains (Yellow Line) or the 57th Street-bound (northbound) _Q_ train (Yellow Line) from 34th Street to 57th Street. When you get there, exit the subway and walk 2 blocks north along Broadway to 59th Street.

    Option 3: take the Queens-bound (northbound) _N_, _R_ or _W_ train from 34th Street to 5th Avenue.

Option 4: take the Bronx-bound (northbound) _B_ or _D_ train (Orange Line) from 34th Street to 59th Street - Columbus Circle.

    or

Option 5: take the Bronx-bound (northbound) _B_ train (Orange Line) from 34th Street to any stop on the _B_ line from 59th Street to 110th Street. The _B_ train makes local stops from 59th Street to 125th Street.

I hope this information is very helpful. If you have any questions or need travel directions while in town, just drop me a line by clicking on the avatar and e-mail icon in the profile. I_ll be glad to help.

    Good luck

  • What are people in Seattle looking for in a roommate?|180135

And where is the best place to look? Craigs list just sends me fake people from God knows what country. Alot of places out here seem to be co-ed and that is not what I am looking for. I am out of ideas.

  • Then go through a roommate-placing agency instead of trying to do it for free.

And delete the dupe of this question - a bit annoying you asked it twice.

  • Someone hot who they can slip it in when they_re drunk together, wake up and act like nothing happened.

  • Check the PI/Seattle Times and Seattle Weekly and The Stranger as well to find more listings. Try the online versions of those papers which usually has more updated ads.

  • Walk around the University district! Plenty of places around there have signs hanging from the building saying *roommates needed, rooms available*. Even if you aren_t a student at UW, a good amount of places will take you anyways.
