Vacation ideas on the East Coast with and infant and toddlers?|139262

Looking to take my 1 year old and 2 year old with us on a vacation in mid-June. We are looking for something in the PA to NC area that is conducive to taking kids.

We are familiar with the NJ shore, VA Beaches, OC, MD, and DE beaches. If you have another suggestion for a beach - ok, but please let it have more to do there than just a beach and the ocean!

Thanks!

  • I would recommend Williamsburg, VA - you can visit Colonial Williamsburg, the Jamestown settlement, Busch Gardens, or Water Country USA - all right there. Plus, Virginia Beach is only a 45 minute drive from there, where there is also the Marine Science Museum. I also think Norfolk (30 min away) has a Discovery Kids Science Museum that has lots of hands on things for children to do (though I haven_t been here myself, I_ve heard the reviews). Your two year old might appreciate this, but your 1 year old could probably have fun wherever. All of these places are kid/baby friendly!

  • King_s Dominion amusement park in Virginia.
    Colonial Williamsburg, VA

  • I_d like to suggest that you leave the 1 _ 2 year old with Grandma and you _ the Hubby take off for Barbedos.
  • How can i go on a day trip to New York from Boston?|142769

I want to leave Boston early in the morning and come back late night. I would like to see Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Cente and Grand Zero. Is there any tour bus operators in Boston for this or should i book a one day tour in New york or is it possible to see places by New york subway system?

  • You can definitely get around New York on the subway, and I_d recommend developing your own _tour_ versus taking an organized one. You_ll save money, and it will be more suited to your preferences.

Click on the link below for VERY cheap bus fares between Boston and New York. I recommend using the buses that go to 34th Street near Penn Station -- their schedules are more reliable, and the location is more central. Once you_re in the city, the subway is only $2 per trip, and you can also buy a daily pass that will save money if you use it a lot.

    Enjoy your trip!

  • You can definitely see the Statue of Liberty, Roc Center and Ground Zero in one day.

Leave early in the morning from Boston - either drive (4 hrs), take the Greyhound Peter Pan bus ($55 roundtrip - 5 hrs), or the Acela Amtrak Express (3.5 hrs -$100 roundtrip).

If you take the bus or the Acela, you will get dropped off in Midtown at either Penn Station (32nd at 7th) or Port Authority (42nd and 8th), so Roc Center and the Empire State are only a few blocks north.

Rockefeller Center is on 50th and 6th and walkable from the bus and train stations.

From there, get in a cab and go to Ground Zero (downtown). From there, go to Circle Line ferry over on the West Side Hwy, and hop on a boat to Statue of Liberty. Just check for ferry times since they may have a set schedule.

If you get to the city by 10am, you can be done with everything and even see a show and have some dinner (if the stike is over by then)

Have fun. Bundle up, its cold.

  • you can take Amtrak from Boston right into Penn Station in a little under 4 hours. You could leave at 7:00 am and return at 9:00 pm and get in a pretty full day. The fare is $59.00.
    take a look at tickets.amtrack.com

You can go from the 34th and Fifth (location of Empire State) by subway to Ground Zero or vicinity - but if you don_t know the system you might be better off with a tour and It might be hard to fit in the Statue of Liberty if you want to get up close and personal because you need to take a boat there.

Why not call GRAY LINE Tours (800) 669-0051 and for all other New York sightseeing info go to

  • I live in Boston, and have used the Peter Pan bus. I think it_s about seventy dollars round-trip. It goes directly from boston to Manhattan. Very few stops, and they usually play a movie during the ride. There is the Fung-Wah bus in Chinatown, but they are VERY unreliable, but cheap if you_re brave. You can also take the Amtrak 95 train, but it costs more and there are more stops.

You can probably get tour information from the bus company. All the landmarks are pretty easy and cheap to get to by taxi. A taxi can take you anywhere in Manhattan for, usually, less than 10 dollars.

  • Take the Greyhound from South Station in Boston. It_s $30 round trip from Boston to Port Authority in Manhattan (about a 5 minute walk from Times Square).

Once you_re in Times Square you_ll find many one day bus tours--there are guys that stand out on the sidewalk for each tour bus company. Otherwise you can grab a subway map and show yourself around New York and go at your own pace.
  • What is the cheapest limo service from Orlando Sanford to Disney Resorts?|127497

I_m going to disney soon and want to rent a round trip limo for our trip for the trip. It_s for my honeymoon so I want everything to be really nice, and was hoping someone could give a good recommendation for a particular service.

  • Check these out:

The first site is a link to Orlando/Sanford International Airport_s transportation arrangement page (non-rental). They have a list of different transportation companies they contract with which includes limo services.

The second site is the site I will probably be using to schedule transportation from Orlando/Sanford. They are one of the contract members of the airport, and they have several transportation methods including limos, all of which travel to Disney World Resort and many other places in the Orlando/Kissimmee area. Their prices are for one-way OR round-trip. Good luck with the wedding!! :)

  • i don_t know if it_s the cheapest in orlando, but heres a limo service in orlando.

  • How much would a hearty bought lunch in new york city and washington cost on the average?|126430

I don_t know how much money to prepare for a trip there. In US dollars please.

  • It depends on whether you get your lunch from a deli ($5-10) and eat outside or go to sit down somewhere. Sitting in a diner or restaurant will generally cost more ($20+).
