How many hours to travel from Tucson to Grand Canyon?|156628

im planning to stay in glendale for 5 days, and get around phoenix for another 2 days, then planning to go to Tucson for another sightseeing. From then, i will travel north, heading to the Grand Canyon.

How many hours will it take me to get to the Grand Canyon? Coz right after that, i_ll cross Nevada and California as well, and i only have 20 days to make up this tour. Thanks in advance!

  • 6 to 6.5 hours depending on how many times you stop for gas and to eat.

  • About 6 hours. It_s a pretty boring ride until you get past Phoenix, then it_s get_s interesting. Very _mountainy_ and scenic. You definitely need to have both hands on the wheel at that point. I just went that way last week. ( to the Grand Canyon from Tucson )

  • You really are looking at 5-6 hours depending on traffic in the Phoenix area. Make sure you look to your left to see the Sedona Red Rocks as you go up the I-17.

  • Checkout this website
    http://tucson.nyctourist.com/

    to find out travel times.

  • it is 345 miles to gc from 2son az it will take you 5 hr and 31 min. least that is what map quest tells me.

  • Your looking around 5-6 hours!
  • What are the costs for a trip to New York?|126564

November of next year, during thanksgiving, me and a friend plan on flying to New York City for a week. Can somebody give me an accurate estimate of how much it would cost, considering the following variables:

    -round trip flight from california
-decent hotel for all 5-7 nights
-eating out for all nights, at least 1 high end restaurants.
    -$1000 for clothes shopping
-Cabs, boat tickets, subway tickets, etc.
-Art shows, movie tickets, museum tickets, etc.

Do the best you can, thanks!

  • This article is just for you!!! Keep in mind parts two and three are coming today and Friday respectively:
    http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-18067

You_ll see everything from package deals to NYC to airfares (for 2009) and lots of other information you will find helpful in planning your Thanksgiving trip.

  • Hmm... don_t even know where to start. Totally off of the top of my head.

    Flight - $400
    Decent Hotel - $250 x 7
    Eating Out - *$15+$25+$70) x 7 days + $200 decent rest =
    Clothing $1000
    Cabs:
    http://www.taxifarefinder.com

    Subway $8 a day (2+ a ride)
    - Musuem = $40~60/day
    - Broadway = $40~100

    etc.
  • What is the best hotel by Universal Studious in California?|110517

I want to know a hotel where it is cheap meaning under 80 dollars and I want it by universal studios. Thanks.

  • Above they stated the only 2 hotels next to or near Universal.....they are much more expensive than $80. You will have to go much further away at that price....Sorry....

  • the best hotels at the Universal Studios/City area are the Hilton and Sheraton, I_ve stayed at both but they_re nowhere near $80 a night

you_re best bet would be to stay at a smaller motel on Lankershim Blvd in North Hollywood, there_s many of them between Camarillo and Victory Streets, but you get what you paid for and $80 in LA won_t get you any luxury

  • theres a best western in universal city
its not that bad of a walk to universal studios
i see tourists walking from there when i drive buy
and you could also take a cab to the theme park
probably under 80 bucks, but i dont know, its definately cheaper than the hilton or shereton

  • The best one would be either the Hilton or the Sheraton, both of which are on the property at Universal and have free shuttles to and from Universal main gate and City Walk.

Good luck finding a room for under $80 anywhere near Universal.

    :D

  • The Beverly Garland is really nice. The Coast Anabelle is good too. .But honestly, anything you find even tolerably close for $80 a night will be in the really bad part of North Hollywood.

  • I_ve stayed at the Hilton Universal twice, but it_s not 80 dollars, it_s about 170 a night I think.

    80 dollars isn_t a big budget.

  • Check out the Beverly Garland along with the above mentioned hotels. Eighty dollars may be unrealistic.

  • hi,

  • At what time do the turtles come out on Laniakea Beach to bask in the sun?|110598

I am trying to plan an intinerary but I want to be at Laniakea when the turtles come out and I do not want to be there too early or to miss them completely. So how soon could I expect to see turtles on the beach?

  • Your best bet is to go early morning or late evening. Also note that the best place to see them is on one the Mokulua islands, which are 2 small sub islands just off the coast of the Lanikai beach. I am a local and I swim out to these islands whenever I visit (one of my favorite beaches by the way). I would recommend that you follow the instructions from the this link
    http://www.sharinghawaii.com/attractions
as swimming to them is not the recommended. You can also find maps and driving directions etc from the above link.

  • I can_t find anywhere that says a specific time they come out, just _during daylight hours_ but, since they are reptiles, they need the heat to start their day and to digest their food so I would say the best time would be in the morning and then around 12p - 2p.

Here are some tips on how to watch the turtles safely:

  • I absolutely LOVE turtles! I may have to visit this place too, lol. Check out the Laniakea website. Give my aloha to those wonderful creatures.
I love the turtle couple on the Comcast tv commercials, too cute!
  • What is the best mountain to snowboard at in colorado?|191492

im going to colorado at the end of march, and i want to know which mountain i should go to.

  • It depends on what you like to do when snowboarding (terrain park, cruising on groomers, extreme terrain, etc.) Breckenridge is fun and less expensive than Vail or Aspen. Steamboat is also great, lots of different terrain and fun at night. Crested Butte and Telluride have sick terrain, but if you_re not truly and expert then you could be happy at any of the the other mountains. Winter Park is fun but I think the terrain there can be a little boring. So I guess I_m recommending Steamboat or Breck! The good thing about Breckenridge is you are in Summit County and therefore close to other mountains like Keystone, Copper, Loveland (which is never very crowded), and Vail in case you want to mix it up.

  • Really any of them, its Colorado, but a buddy of mine goes out to Breckenridge and has a blast. Theres been a few ski/snowboard videos shot there, so he must be on to something.
  • What are some good haunted house places in Orlando for Halloween?|102882

Our anniversary is Halloween and usually we either eat out in town or go to Bush Gardens for their halloween thing. This year we want to make it a 4 day event where we would go to the one at Bush Gardens first night and then head over to Orlando for the 2nd night to go to Universal Studios_ halloween thing (maybe catch some horror flicks before hand). But the last time I looked, I remember there was some haunted houses there that were regular attractions (not some one put together by JCs or a school or something) that you could go to. If anybody knows of any or can recommend some good ones or unique ones (like a cornfield one that was in a place I lived once) that would be great.

  • In downtown Kissimmee they offer ghost tours nightly at BH Extreme Ghost Hunting Tours. Must make reservation at least 5 days in advance. Check in time for tours is 8:15 pm and tour lasts until 10:30 pm. From their website: Tours include: transportation in an air-conditioned H1 Limo, Certified Ghost Hunter , use of an EMF meter, photo opportunities and a terrific guide! Armed with meters that measure electromagnetic fluctuations, Ghost Hunters (that_s YOU) discover the existence of ghosts at historic and haunted sites. At the end, you_ll have learned enough to photograph spirit images, recognize manifestations, hear mysterious stories and delve into the world of spirits. Not to mention learning some great history! And join us for a grave yard hunt, as we explore the unknown, reveal the art and traditions of ghost hunting, and stories of those still lurking amongst the shadows. A superb evening of history, ghost hunting, tradition and mystery.
If you check out the website and click on Haunted Kissimmee, it will list the stops on the tour. Highly recommended you bring a camera.

There_s also the Haunted Grimm House of Old Town located on Irlo Bronson Memorial Hwy. (hwy 192) down by I-4 which is a year round haunted house attraction.

  • I went on this tour and it was very rushed, the guide was rude, and when my mother was hurt, he could care less and would not help us at all. This tour is a joke to any real _Ghost_ fan.

I would not reccomend this tour to anyone! look for another!

  • Hi I am Steve the owner I have looked back to see if we have your name on file we do not this means you are with the other tour comp. trying to make us look bad .Nice try. Who was your guide E-Mail me

  • Hey you named the top two already, as far as outside ones like cornfields, I wouldnt advise due to death from snakes and all the other crap here, Take a look into St. Augustine. They have ghost tours that go through the city and tell all the scary stories, My g/f and I have been on it and It was cool plus the city is wonderful.
