Where in Virginia is there a campground on a stocked trout stream?|105554

We plan to vacation in Virginia in summer 2007. Trout fishing and camping (with electric hookups) on a trout stream or river is what we are looking for. Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • Go to virginiacampgrounds.org You can pick out any area and other things you want on your trip. I have used that website many times. Lots to choose from that location. Hope it helped. Good luck. Have a great time.

  • Go to Shenandoah National Park great place to fish go to

  • How long does the snow last in Denver?|132971

I am going to Denver for some business in mid-January and if it snows how bad is it usually and how long does it stay on the ground? I am going to be staying in either Denver or Aurora.

  • The snow doesnt usually stay on the ground very long. Unless you go during a snow storm, the majority of the snow usually melts the same day or the next. The temperatures are cold in the morning but then the sun always comes out and they weather gets well above freezing so the snow begins to melt but then it gets cold at night again so all the melted snow runoff freezes so be careful driving

  • Sometimes the snow melts. Not always. Two years ago it stayed below 30 degrees for nearly a month and nothing melted. Since everyone is so used to having solar snow removal, parking lots and sidewalks were a nightmare. So, in reality. it melts if the weather stays above 30 degrees for several hours during the day. Otherwise it stays and stays and stays.

  • everyone said it already but since denver does get a lot of snow, our plows usually do a pretty good job of clearing the streets, chances are you will not get trapped anywhere if that_s a concern of yours.

  • What 510 said it true. We have 300+ days of sunshine and very low humidity , so snow melts and evaporates very quickly. But expect low temps. in January. A good local news and weather is

  • What is something special that I can do to honor someone at Disney World?|130881

We are traveling there to celebrate my mother being cancer-free - staying at the Polynesian, and would like to do something special on her _anniversary_. Looked into the legacy photos at Epcot, but they are no longer selling them. Does anyone know of something along that line?

  • A lot of those _forever_ memory things have been discontinued. The best thing you could do is call the polynesian concierge and ask if they can help your mom become the marshall in a parade at one of the parks.

  • You could try the one at the magic kingdom. Yes, epcot has discontinued this program, and the plated rocks with the pictures will be taken down in like 2020 or something like that. I have a picture of me up there and I am sad to see it go. You can still get pictures of you and your mom other places. Try disney_s photopass sevice. Get a picture of you two together in front of the sign of that park in every park.

    Magic Kingdom: the castle
    Epcot: Spaceship Earth
    Studios: Mickey Hat
    Animal Kingdom: Tree of Life.

This way you will have a memory of going to each park.

You could ask if they would bring out a cake or a cupcake at one of the sit down restaraunts. They do this for birthdays, but they also like to make people feel happy. If you want you could get into the front of the monerail for a ride. Just go down to the end gate, before any one else, and then ask to go for a ride in the front. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can_t, but most of the time, you can. Hope this gives you some ideas

Just make sure, to have the best trip that you can posslibly have! Have a great, safe, fun, and magical trip to the world of mouse!
    Have a great time!

  • I think I_ve seen trees planted in people_s honor. If you_re staying at the Poly, I would recommend that you stay on the concierge level -- the perks are very nice and you_ll love the lounge. From personal experience I can tell you that the concierge level of service is unparalleled. I know they could help you find something special in honor of this wonderful reason to celebrate.

  • They have the stones at Magic Kingdom. It_s like the photos at Epcot, but it_s words put into stone on the ground. There_s a whole bunch there, and Magic Kingdom has been doing that a lot longer than Epcot, so there_s a history there. Hope that helped!!

  • They have a Luau at the Polynesian so that would be cool to do for your mother. Mickey ears can be bought and embroidered to fit your name.

  • Teacher..

contact me and I may have some help for making it special for your mom.
  • Best way to get free drinks in vegas while gambling?|144069

I usually go to vegas from a Wed to Saturday night. I love to gamble all day at inexpensive places. What hotels or places are the best places to play and get lots of free drinks? And what time is the best go during the day and during the week?

    What experiences do you have?

  • I love O_Sheas. If you frequent Vegas, you probably are familiar. They have cheap drafts $2 at the bar. But if you are gambling the waitress comes every 15-20 minutes. I have gone late night (after 11pm) and had a good ol_ time gaming and drinking! O_Shea_s is great too because it is a smaller casino (compared to its neighbors!) and everyone that works there is super nice and friendly. Can_t beat the lower table limits either. That_s my favorite place on the strip.

Downtown pretty much anywhere you go they will be literally pouring drinks in your mouth. I took two steps in a smaller casino downtown and this waitress was like _what can I get you to drink?_ ha! I wasn_t even playing yet! had no money in my hand or anything! can_t beat that hospitality!!!!

stay away from any _high end_ hotel for gambling. You feel like a schmuck (at least I do) trying to feel like I belong at these places. Sure they are fun to walk around and go to the shows and stuff, but I dont gamble at the _big_ casinos too often!

  • If you_re gambling the drinks are free, it does not matter, table games or slots.

Tip the cocktail waitress $1 per drink. You will not have an empty glass for long.

I prefer the small to mid size casinos. The Orleans, Main Street Station, Silverton _ Fiesta. Another place I like to play(video poker) is the sports book at the LV Hilton.

The drink service probably is quicker during the day, Monday through Friday.

If you prefer you can sit right at the bar. The bartenders are happy to dole out free drinks, just don_t forget to tip them as well. Try the Alligator bar at the Orleans.

    ~Jack~

  • it doesn_t matter the more you tip the faster they comeit better if you are in a group then that way you can take turns tipping

  • 1.) GET THE PLAYERS CARD!
Let the casino keep track of how much you play. Soon you might get comped meals or rooms!

2.) BET BIG AT FIRST. When you sit down, throw down some large. At least $100. This way the dealer will call the pit boss over and they will notice you. After a few hands of blackjack or whatever, you can pocket your winnings slowly _taking back_ that initial bet. When ever you bet down again, go large. The pit boss will also take your players card and give you credit.

3.) Tip the waitress big. When she brings you a drink, tip at least $5. Tell her to come back soon with a wink.

4.) Belly up to the Bar! As long as you are playing, the bartender will comp your drinks. If you are concerned about cheap alcohol or low pours, order beer. Its bottled and you are getting the full ride.

  • If you are consistently gambling you will be offered a cocktail at the casino. That includes slots, table games, keno, etc.

At Strip hotels the cocktail does not make the rounds, except the tables, as quickly local places. But, make sure you tip the cocktail $1 or you may find you don_t get many drinks. And they will not give you drinks if you appear drunk.

  • The best drink service is in the poker rooms by far. I have never, ever had a slow waitress playing poker in Vegas.

  • I always play at the bar at the video black jack, TI and tropicana are the best to do this, they don_t watch what u are doing, so bartenders require you max bet and at least have $10 in the machine ....but most don_t keep such an eye on you.....I am going next week.....wish me luck!

  • The best way to get free drinks while gambling ... Hmmm, let me see ...

I_d say, when you hear the word _Cocktails,_ you say, _Yes, I would like a drink._

And if you want her to return, tip $1 or more ... depending on how well you_re doing.

  • Hey there. I will not take the sarcastic tune that many here are taking. it is quite easy to get free drinks in vegas. Remember it is just good business for them to get you drunk. People gamble more and perceive having a better time while drunk. Think about that before you enjoy the free drinks. As others have said, if you want the drinks to be flowing, keep tipping. Search answers on here and you will be able to see some reviews of the diffrent casinos. Some of them really water down the drinks. If that doesnt bother you then theres really no huge diffrence. Enjoy vegas!

  • I have a hard time believing that you go to Vegas and gamble but you don_t know how to get free drinks.

EVERY CASINO in Vegas gives free drinks to people who are gambling, it doesn_t matter when you go. A cocktail waitress will walk up to you and ask you if you_d like a drink, then you say yes and tell her which drink you_d like. If you want her to make you a priority and come back then tip her, if you stiff her a tip then she won_t be in any hurry to come back and offer you another one.

  • drinks are free when your gambling anyway. any time 24/7 is a good time

  • video poker at the bar....Imperial Palace, Bill_s, Casino Royale, O_Sheas, Excalibur.

  • I say the Flamingo and Harrahs. I got great Pina Coladas while sitting at the Penny machines at the Flamingo. My friend and I tipped good to start and we always had another drink before the one we were one was finished. After the first round, we tipped a buck each.
This was during the day, during the week.

  • All you have to do is be gambling and be patient. A cocktail waitress will come around and offer drinks. Definately, you want to tip her, or it will take a lot longer for your next round. Also, if you sit down at a table and immediately ask the pit boss for a cocktail, you will just annoy them, especially if you are playing low limits, and believe me, it is good to have them on your good side. So be patient and a waitress will come around.
