Which is a better and cheap cable or dish service here in Houston?|194444

I want alot of channels with good shows/ movies. And thats doesn_t lose signal when it rains. But i don_t know of many services in Houston.
So which company is worth paying for?

  • Honestly none

  • I have Comcast as well. We_ve bundled TV, Internet, and alarm monitoring. I like the alarm service, but we_ll probably switch the TV and Internet to ATT Uverse this winter when the Comcast promotional deal expires. Our neighborhood is wired for ATT Uverse, which I did not know at the time.

I agree with Chocolatebee_s assessment of Comcast_s customer service. It is the absolute pits! That being said, they_re cheaper with the 12 month promotion and the service never goes out.

  • honestly none of them are that great and none are worth money. I currently have comcast and although it doesnt go out when it rains, they have the worse customer service ever, worse than the old AOL customer service.

  • Don_t forget ATT. They provide cable TV through the phone line.

They are all about the same. I have Comcast. They have a lot more channels than they used to have. It_s pretty good.

  • Directv is great! But unfortunately it goes out when it rains, but only if it raining hard...

  • neither get Comcast!
  • How far is the BAPE or BBC/ICE CREAM store from Times Square New York City?|104474

Me and my dad are planning a visit to NYC soon, and I am interested in going to those stores, so thanks for the help!

  • BBC/Ice Cream is in SoHo on 456 West Broadway. From Times Square you_ll want to take a downtown R train to Prince St. This will put you at Prince and Broadway. From there walk about 4 blocks west and you_re there.
  • What is the easiest and cheapest connection between New Rochelle and Manhattan?|109048

I am visiting Manhattan, NY for the first time but would also need to visit a friend in New Rochelle also in NY. Is there any cheaper means of commuting between these two cities? I would appreciate very much if any of you folks could help me in this adventure, what train or bus to pick from Manhattan to New Rochelle Metro bus station North Ave. area?

    Thanks for your help.

  • I believe Metro North will take you right from Grand Central on 42st. to North Av. station in New Rochelle. Look up Metro North schedule just to make sure.

  • My friend, take the Metro-North_s New Haven Line from Grand Central Terminal to New Rochelle. The trip from GCT to New Rochelle take about 40 minutes and a round off peak ticket on Metro-North will cost you $12.

New Rochelle is also a stop on Amtrak_s Northeast Regional service from Penn Station. The fare, however, is more expensive than Metro-North ($48 to $60 round trip) and not to many train stop there. So I would advice taking Metro-North instead.

I hope this information is very helpful.

    Good luck
  • Where is a good and cheap place to park when walking through the French Quarter?|118493

I have a friend coming down this weekend and she wants to walk through the French Quarter. On my own trips I used to walk from my Dardy_s house but she no longer lives close by. Where can we park that is cheap or atleast safe? We don_t mind having to walk a while.
    Thanks!

  • Anywhere you pay to park will be safe. Cheap isn_t so easy and you will probably have to pay about $10 for _all day_. That is a LOT better than getting a ticket (min $20) or being towed (min $100).

I usually park in the Canal Place parking garage (300 block of Canal Street). There are several parking lots on Decatur Street between Jackson Square and Bienville Street. You can also use the lot on the river side of the flood wall behind Cafe du Monde (go to Saint Peter _ Decatur and turn toward the river).

Hope you have a great time!

  • park by the Riverwalk Marketplace on Convention Center Boulevard.

it_s not cheap $8 -$10 but they always have people walking around and it is safe.

  • NOLA Guy_s answer is good...

Another suggestion though... you could park at Harrah_s and walk down into the Quarter.
If you play for 30 minutes then parking is validated (and free.) Although if you lose $20 in slots then its not REALLY free.
The casinio is nice, though and your friend might want to see it anyway...

OR you could park uptown and take the streetcar.

OR Esplanade usually has some on street parking available and that_s real close to the French Market, etc.

Hope ya_ll have a great time!

  • You can park at Harrahs Casino and if you gamble for 30-60 minutes not sure of exact time but 1hr or less you can get validated for 12 hours of parking and park for free.

You can park in the Marigny and walk. Other than that you will find lots that charge between $10-20 a day.

  • just park by cafe du monde. Or look for a meter on the street. We get lucky sometimes. Weekends you don_t have to pay!
