Does anybody know where some good, relaxing and peaceful places in California located?|198193

Also, that are free to go anytime and are beautiful.
Maybe with some flowers, waters and trees or beautiful green fields to visit? Or some place related?

  • One of my favorite places is Monterey. Of course there_s Yosemite, but Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are near there and less crowded. Mammoth Lake is nice. You can drive the 395 highway and see lots of interesting things, including ghost towns and Mono Lake with the large tufas rising from it. Lassen National Park is pretty, and interesting, with the Lava Beds National Monument nearby. Shasta Lake_s there too. Near San Diego is Julien and Temecula. Central Coast (Pismo, Cambria, etc.) is amazing and beautiful.

Enjoy exploring. There is so much to see.

  • Go to wine country or Big Bear Lake... even South Lake Tahoe is great for relaxation. Oh and if you want relaxing make sure you rent a vacation rental. Below are links to great vacation rentals in these locations.

  • Yosemite
    Lake Tahoe

I find the beach relaxing. The sound of the waves is very calming.

    Huntington Library
    Descanso Gardens
    Many trails in Griffith Park
    Angeles National Forest
    Big Bear
    Lake Arrowhead

  • Ferndale in Griffith Park Desconso Gardens in Pasadena, There is a Buddhist Garden near the end of Sunset Blvd just before PCH .
  • Where are the fun and safe communities to live within Washington DC?|178206

3 recent college graduate girls are planning on moving to DC and we are not very familiar with the area. We were just curious where would be a fun area to live around the downtown area that also would be fairly safe. All help is much appreciated!

  • it_s all a dump..dont go

  • Bethesda, Maryland is on the Metro. It is a fun place to live. Plenty of condos there. Great restaurants. However, recently there have been a lot of sex crimes happening in Bethesda.

Downtown DC in Adams Morgan is definitely not a safe place nor is Dupont Circle area. Lots of street crime.

Old Town Alexandria is probably the best but also extremely pricey. You can catch the Metro downtown from there. Parking is a real problem at all times.

    Expect to pay $2500 - $3000 for a 2 or 3 bedroom apt. Condos are in the $350,000 - $550,000 price range.

  • If you want to live IN the city, definitely check out Northwest DC. Dupont Circle, Adams Morgan, Friendship Heights, Van Ness (Basically any of the Red Line stops on the Metro that are heading towards Shady Grove). Also if you don_t mind living just outside DC then check out Bethesda or Silver Spring (both have stops also on the Red Line and are adjacent to the city - so very short Metro ride to downtown) they are also safe areas and very nice, lots of bars and restaurants and stuff

  • Try Old Town Alexandria, can be pricey, but alot of fun, and close to DC. There are areas in Rosslyn VA as well. Or Bethesda Maryland, a 45 min metro train ride from DC, great town, lots of young professionals, shopping and good eats!

  • Check out Old Town Alexandria. Maybe not where you would want to raise a family, but for singles, it is fun. Many restaurants and pubs and tons of entertainment. Have fun!

  • Georgetown is your best bet

  • Falls Church city, Va is 15 minutes outside of D.C. has 2 metro stations, their own schools and government, and... rocks.

  • TRY TO LOOK AROUND DUPONT CIRCLE SOME OF THAT AREA IS OKAY BUT NOT MUCH OF DC IS SAFE FOR SINGLE WOMEN IF U DONT MIND OUTSIDE OF THE PG COUNTY IS GOOD AND VIRGINA IS RELAY NICE AND HAS ALOT OF SINGLE PEOPLE LIVING THERE

  • To tell you the truth, there is no safe place in DC! But if you are looking for fun you can make it wher ever you go.

  • Fun AND safe? Good luck. The fun areas aren_t that safe, the safe areas (suburbs) aren_t that fun.

  • Georgetown is definitely the place. Its not downtown to visitors but many residents think of it as downtown. There are clubs and great restaurants without all those tourists around the museums in the real downtown. Its expensive, but a great value. Anything in the city that is reasonable safe will cost a lot. If you can_t afford anything in DC try Baltimore. There is the same type of night life and the prices are lower, but if you have a job in DC it_ll be 1.5 hour commute on a good day.
  • How long does it take to get to Monterrey from Dallas, Texas?|112609

I have always flown but I am thinking of driving next time I go..Knowing the average time would be great, especially since you have to go through customs and all. Thanks!

  • More or less 12 to 14 hours.

  • Maybe nearly a whole day.

  • about 22 hrs
