How much money should I take for a 4 day trip to Las Vegas?|110769

I plan on going at the end of September. The flight and hotel are booked but how much should I take for the trip? I plan to gamble a little see some sites and shop for a couple of things, nothing major. Thanks for any help!

  • table games are cheap in some casinos, dirt cheap in some casinos and royally expensive in some others. The MG, Venetian, Bellagio are grand examples of expensive casinos where 4 losses at a stretch would mean you lost a $100 bill where as some like Alladin you can lose anywhere between 5 - 7 games straight and be down $100 and some casinos like the Orleans you need to loose ( depending on time ) 20 straight games to have thrown away $100. Now you need to be attentive...... what we do is we go looking at all casinos in the daytime and gamble in the night!
Take money depending on your gambling streak. I have a thumb of rule I play at the cheapie casinos where my money lasts at least 6-7 rounds! If I get 3 straight losses time to change table! take about $1000 for food and gambling. But I would keep some money aside for other things like the comedy clubs, the night shows etc.....

Food is expensive at all places in Vegas strip. venture out of the Strip to have your food they are real cheap. If you want to do something exotic have dinner at the Eiffel Tower of Paris Paris it cost about $200 and you need to be attired in formal wear ( means shoes, tie and a coat ).
If you plan on travelling outside do venture out to Hoover Dam it is a great sight and about 3 hrs drive away. But 4 days is not enough even for Vegas...... so I don_t think you will be travelling anywhere else. Remember to watch the water fountain show in front of Bellagio it is breathtaking and free!
I plan to re-visit Vegas in October!
You have fun Gambling and lots of Good luck to you

Oh another thing water inside every hotel Costs about $3 -$5 per bottle so remember to buy it outside before you go into your room!

  • I lived in Vegas for 4 years. The food is cheap _ the drinks are free as long as you are gambling. But, my biggest suggestion is to take a set amount of money to put into machines or to gamble with...then, don_t let yourself go over that set limit. That is where people get into trouble saying just 1 more time just a couple more dollars...you end up overspending.I always took rolls of quarters to keep myself entertained on the slots.Souveniers are cheap, too, Your biggest expense is the gambling...if you don_t overdo it there you_ll be fine with a few hundred dollars. If you plan to see a show be prepared to spend about $100. for good show tickets.

  • As much as you can...
Coz you are a lucky man..

  • I would take $200 per day if you are not much of a gambler. $50-$100 per day for gambling and the rest for food, shopping, and shows.

  • In 4 nights, its easy to drop a grand. $500 should do it just for the gambling - you_ll play alot more than you think. Shows are about $100 each (definitely go see Xumanity!! - it was off the hook) - two shows should be good for 4 night trip. Meals are quite cheap but shopping is quite expensive. Also if you go clubbing, watch out for the $15 drinks and $10 packs of smokes.

My advice, have a seperate cash reserve for your gambling money and charge everything else. Never go to the ATM in the casino or you_ll be deep in the hole if you do.

  • I went back in april for 4 days and only spent like 600-700 bucks and had alot of fun and bought alot of suvinours... Vegas is weird cause you can go there and blow all kinds of money with out gambling but you can also do ur homework and find all kinds of places to go and save money if you want to take that route. you can get a beer for between 1-10 dollars, i did my homework before i left, you will not have enough time to see what you want, you will have more problems with time then money.

  • Well the food down there is way expensive and if you are planning on gambling you are going to blow a lot (don_t get addicted). I would bring a lot cuz it goes away fast.

  • If you want to see a show, try to purchase your tickets before you leave on the trip(Cirque du Soleil has 5 shows;awesome)
I would take approx. 150.00 per day for Food, gambling, shopping, etc
You might want to allow yourself a specific amount for gambling each day. Once that is gone, you quit for the day.
Have one nice dinner, but don_t forget the buffets at Bellagio and the new Wynn are amazing. Also, seafood at Joe_s Stone Crab (Caesars Forum shops) is the best in the US. Go at lunchtime, when there are lower prices but the same good food.
    Be safe and enjoy

  • spend 100.00 a day. stop after 50.00 if you don_t win anything

  • Las Vegas is expensive!! Take a lot of money.

  • I just came back from a trip on Friday. I took $500 per day. Worked just fine.

  • at least a grand or two

  • not counting airfare and hotel i would sayyou could get by on 500 or 600 dollars but 1000 dollars would be great.

  • take all of it. spend as much as you can.

  • 6000 you know like 1500 a day that way you can have a good time.

  • If you budget how much you want to lose in those 4 days and don_t put in any more in the machines/tables. you can get a better idea on how much to bring (if you wanted to blow $100) a day on gambling(which is very easy to do). Base it around that , you never know you could be lucky !!! I would suggest with a $100 a day gambling budget,,probably a $1000?Good Luck .

  • $20,000 Jk
  • How is traffic on the 605 N from LONG BEACH to CYPRESS in the mornings?|109702

I am planning to attend Cypress College and am commuting from LONG BEACH to Cypress.... I will have school in the mornings (8 am) and am concerned with traffic during that time. Can anyone let me know how bad it might be?

  • The south bound 405 won_t be too bad, you_ll be going in the opposite direction of the bulk of the traffic. Making the transition to the north bound 605 will be a different story This will become a bottleneck. Leave a little early one day and try it.

As an alternative try exiting at Bellflower Blvd north transitioning to Los Coyotes Diagonal going northeast then turn right on Carson Street/Lincoln Ave to Cypress College. These surface streets move relatively quickly in the morning.

  • The traffic on the 405 south probably will not be to bad but the 605 north during the week can be horrible especially during morning rush hour. I would recommend trying different routes for a couple of days and take side streets like Bellflower Blvd. up to Carson St. and go east and that should take you to Cypress College. To cut some more time off you could also use the Los Coyotes diagonal up to Carson St. then go east.
  • Where are good places in Atlanta to live, near Georgia Inst of Technology, affordable and cheap to rent?|107987

I m going to move in Atlanta. I want to rent an apartment. But it needs to be near GTech school as I will be a student at it very soon. What places and areas do u recommend? Please provide the name of streets or districts and everything necessary. Or also could I have a website showing such information?

  • I_d look into GT_s housing...... to rent something on your own isn_t going to be cheap _ safe in that area..... Contact the school and see where other students may live off campus.

  • there arent that many safe neighborhoods in atlanta, and rent is not very cheap go to www.AJC.com thats the newspaper with apartment listings online or look on craigs list you can look at rentals in atlanta or place your own ad
  • What is there to do on Maui in the rain?|194912

We just got to Kihei on Maui for our honeymoon, and it_s our first time visiting Hawai_i. We_d planned on lounging at the beach, trying snorkeling/scuba, driving the road to Hana, and checking out the sunrise on Haleakla. All those activities seem to be in jeopardy since there_s a 30-60% chance of rain every day for the week we_re here.

Besides going to the movies and shopping are there some fun activities to do while here? Bonus points for things that can only be done while here.

  • The rain never lasts long ... so go exploring!

    Western Maui - Lahaina

Central Maui - the Maui Ocean Center (indoors and out), and/or a drive up to the peak of Haleakala Volcano

North Central Maui - Have lunch at _Mama_s Fish House_ and watch the kamikazi wind-surfers while you eat!

Eastern Maui - take a drive to Hana, along the 35 mile _Road to Hana_ - take is slow! There are over 500 hairpin turns, 64 one-lane bridges, and many parks and outlook views along the way.

Hana town area - Have a nice lunch or dinner at the Hana Maui Hotel - a top pick for the visiting rich and famous, but still reasonably priced! Take a walk afterwards around Hana Bay...

and don_t forget, make lotsa love while you_re on Maui - you won_t find a better place on earth for it!

    Best regards,
    OC

  • um, consemate the marriage again or read a book

  • Kihei is on the leeward side of the East Maui Volcano (the Hawaiian name Haleakala refers only to the summit). The weather forecast is for the whole island. This time of year, the rain will be brought to the island by tradewinds, so the rain will fall more on the northeast side of the islands and on the mountains. Kihei and Lahaina will actually see very little rain, even if Hana sees several inches.

  • Don_t worry, the sun will come out, and you will have fun.

  • Get in your car _ drive to Lahaina...it might be sunny there. If not, plan on going to Ulalena, a really good evening show based on Hawaiian legends _ traditions....read synopsis 1st. If you_re driving to Hana, be sure to bring a snack or lunch, bathing suits _ camera....suggest an early start _ be careful when you drive. (I was told only tourists _ crazy people drive there _ back....we drove there....). You can still snorkel in the rain. Sunrise at Haleakala only if it_s nice. Otherwise, you_ll see only clouds. The sun peeks out in spite of showers! How heavy is the rain?

  • It_s your honeymoon. Stay in bed.

  • The story goes... In Hawaii, if you don_t like the waether... Wait fifteen minutes...
Go! Have fun! Yes it will rain and it will clear right up!

  • Try the Maui Ocean Center. It sounds lame, but its actually pretty cool and you_ll be able to kill a few hours there.
