What methods of payment do most motels take?|110290

My new debit card is arriving late in the mail (I had to change accounts), and I am leaving on a road trip tonight. Although I should be able to reach my destination without stopping-I_d like a back up plan. Are there any motels (cheap ones) that accept cash, paypal, or anything other than a debit card?

  • many take cash or a CC even Debit Card.. used them all

  • Most lodging locations take a credit card when checking in and then at checkout. However, everyone takes US cash currency _=just make sure you get a receipt!

    Hope the Above Info Helps!

  • They will take cash, but you have to pay in full when you check in.

  • I_m sure many will take cash. To be sure, you could call in advance and ask. Most prefer debit or credit cards.
  • How easy is it to become a street vendor in hawaii?|108930

I would like to sell fruit on the beach in hawaii and would like to get an idea of the process in getting street vendor permit for this Business.

  • It isn_t easy at all, and pretty much cannot be done. It_s not like many cities, you can_t get a permit for that sort of thing, especially on public property. All the concession licenses are given out for multi-year leases.

  • I don_t think it is a good idea. The lifeguards will probably chase you off the beach. If you get a permit, the lifeguards are not going to like you. Selling fruit on the beach (Waikiki), nah no go.

Maybe on the street and in the malls along Waikiki, but there are already a bunch of people selling something. To rent your space . . . expensive.

  • don_t try, you_ll fail miserably... sorry....

  • Does anyone have any recommendation for the best vacation spots in North Carolina?|185837

I will be in North Carolina next week for a seminar and will have three days to spend vacationing. We will have a rental car so we could really drive anywhere. As Wisconsinites, we are thinking it would be best to head to the Coast, but that is a big stretch of land! Any recommendations for must-see destinations in North Carolina? Thanks!

  • I have heard about the outer banks being a great place to vacation. It_s pretty far from Charlotte - I want to say 6 or 7 hours.

I don_t know where you will be in North Carolina but you might want to check out the Outerbanks area. Wilmington is nice too or so I have heard. I lived in Charlotte but never made it out to Wilmington. My parents did though and a former hair stylist of mine.

If it_s not too far - I think you should visit Charleston, SC. I_ve heard from multiple people that it_s beautiful and a great city to visit. It_s on the coast.

  • If interested in the beach, suggest Wilmington. There are several beaches near this small city; Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach. Also Wilmington has great restaurants and several good golf course.

If the mountains, try Ashville. Builtmore House is located there and take at least a day to see / do everything. Located near a national park with great day hiking trails.

  • North Carolina has many possibilities from mountains on one side of the state to the coast on the other side. I live in the mountains near Asheville, NC- and many people fall in love with our Blue Ridge mountains, try a drive on the parkway, visiting crabtree meadows and mt. mitchell (the tallest mountain peak east of the Mississippi river! Western NC is full of mountain culture and scenic nature with our wildlife. We have caves, mining, hiking, rafting, swimming, about all you can think of in the mountains!
-then between the mountains and the coast is central NC, which is not super amazing but full of true southern culture within all the small communities. (also in this area is the cities of Raleigh and Charlotte which are top places. If you like amusement parks then Charlotte has Carowinds Theme Park which is full of thrill roller coasters. Its the only amusement park that sits in 2 states. It_s divided on the NC _ SC state line.
-Then as you stated: If you prefer the coast then the NC coast is very secluded compared to neighbor states. As Virginia Beach, VA to our north and Myrtle Beach, SC to our south are huge tourist traps, especially Myrtle beach, SC-if you would love the nightlife, shopping and huge activities. If you rather enjoy a scenic relaxing area then the NC coast is right for you. the southern coastal area of our state is home to Wilmington and other popular beaches which are family friendly and a little more populated then the rest of the NC coast. The rest of the NC coast is our outer banks with the Atlantic ocean on one side and the Pamlico sound on the other. The outer banks is a very exciting experience with nothing but sand and ocean along the way. You literally travel down the coast on a road that gets so narrow at times that you see only sand and ocean on each side of the road with warning signs of water crossing roadway. There are many lighthouses, restraunts, shops and hotels along theouter bankss as well and also in Kitty Hawk, NC which is on the banks is the area and memorial of the Wright brothers taking the first flight, inventing air transportation. but myPersonall favorit spot on the outer banks is OCRACOKE ISLAND-awesome! it is at the southern tip of the outerbanks and the only way to reach this is by the free ferry. you drive down the outerbanks which eventually ends at a ferry port where you board the ferry and then drive off onto Ocracoke Island which is majority protected national seashore meaning there is nothing! The island has wild spanish horses everywhere- they are believed to have swam ashore when a ship had sank many years ago, also there is the small fishing village of Ocracoke on the other end of the island, with the area where the infamous Blackbeard the pirate landed. Overall you will find something to do in this state! From the mountains to the coast and everywhere between. I hope you guys enjoy NC and see what it has to offer!

  • How long would it take on the Metro from Thousand Oaks to San Diego?|186504

Any info on how the metro works and changing at stations would be helpful.

  • You cannot take the Metro from Thousand Oaks to San Diego because the Metro does not go to San Diego.

    http://www.socalthemeparks.com/la-county

You will have to take the Metro to Oceanside which is the end of the line and take the Coaster from Oceanside to San Diego.
    http://www.socalthemeparks.com/san-diego
Total trip should take about 3 1/2 hours

Another way to do it is to take the Metro from thousand oaks to downtown LA Union Station, then take Amtrak to San Diego.
