What are the good sights to see in Philadelphia?|181096

I am going to Philadelphia this week with a few friends and I was wondering if anybody could suggest what are the good sights to see and what we could pass on.

  • Well, it depends on what you_re looking for.

Start with Googling the heck out of Philly...I_ve lived here for 8 years and I still find interesting stuff that way. Also, check out the Philadelphia Weekly, the CityPaper, the Metro and phlly2night.com.

There_s obviously a ton of history in Philly, and while it_s definitely not all in one area, there_s a concentration of it in Center City, especially as you head towards the River...Old City, Society Hill, Independence Mall, etc.

There are plenty of tours, including one...I think it_s called the Big Bus...it_s a double decker bus that I see ALL OVER the city, so I_d guess that it_s a pretty extensive tour. It will be hotter than heck this week though...today (7/17) it_s supposed to reach 100, and it gets humid around here, so be ready and pack plenty of light clothes. At least with that double decker bus, the top level is open air, so maybe you can catch a breeze that way.

You may just want to go to the tourist center at Independence Mall. That should be the best bet because they_ll cover every kind of thing you_d like to see, not just the Independence Mall, Constitution kind of things.

  • Liberty Bell/Independence Hall
    Betsy Ross_ House
    South Street for people watching
Art Museum (for art and the steps from the Rocky movie)
    US Mint tour

  • Independance Hall, The liberty bell, But please don_t lick it because that is my dream to lick the liberty bell so please don_t or i_ll scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The library! haha that_s my favorite spot to visit while i_m in town.

Or head to the Imperial Inn in Chinatown, I love their food.

  • Go to Knoebels Grove. It_s so much fun. There are rides, campgrounds. Or Frontier Town.
  • How many days would you want to allow for a road trip between San Francisco and LA, along Route 1.?|185963

Planning a California road trip for next summer, trying to decide on a route!

  • 3 days is best, check

    for travel guide.

  • ez80227 must be a lot faster driver than I am, because I would take at least two days. Not just because of all the different things to do along the way, but who would want to miss enjoying all the sights (a second time) along the way you_ll miss on the first way.

  • 1, even stopping at the castle on the way...
