How much do marlboro lights cost in Portsmouth Virginia?|197100

I_m going to visit relatives in V.A and woukd like to know how much a carton og marlboro lighte are.

  • Portsmouth should be the last place you should buy them in Virginia.

Cities in Virginia are allowed to add additional tax to the price of cigarettes. Counties (with the exception of Arlington) are not. So your best bet is to buy them in a remote area in Virginia on the way to Portsmouth. The city tax in Portsmouth and many of the nearby cities is 50 cents per pack. So that is a $5 per carton difference from the rural parts of the state.

  • or you can buiy from europe for cheap....

  • What will it take for Tulsa to take off and become a more prominent city?|183890

What are your thoughts on Tulsa, and Green Country?

  • Being born and raised here, I have some odd opinions. There is really no big attraction to draw people in. Tourism is a complete crapshoot. We don_t really have anything that some other state doesn_t have in it_s own towns of similar size. Putting in a new arena to possibly bring in a ball team is a good start. The workforce is less than stellar because the job market is unstable. People don_t get to keep a lot of jobs for very long because they get sent overseas or go under. (Zebco? Michelin in Miami?) Coupling this with a welfare system that is very easy to _milk_ and a tremendous Christian influence (do unto others..help thy neighbor.....WWJD...yada yada yada) It becomes too easy to get by on very little. That is also why Tulsa (and Oklahoma in general) was the first big haven for illegal immigrants. There are plenty of jobs for people who will work for $5.15/hr. It_s just that most oklahomans won_t lift a finger for less than $8.00/hr.

  • Well the first thing Tulsa needs to do is get out of Oklahoma....sorry but Tulsa just isn_t a big draw for most people.

    best of luck to you!

  • You have to flush the city of the right wing religious fanatics. 1st off dump Oral Roberts University.
  • Does anyone know of a sevice that provides transportation out of California for recently released prisoners?|100145

My husband went to California to help his dad and got caught up in a 10 year old warrant and had to do 90 days. Now released he has nowhere to stay and no money to get back home(Michigan). Even hitching a ride with some one headed this way would be a plus.

  • See if there_s a Community Action Agency in the town where your husband is. They often have _emergency funds_ for helping people get home, whether it_s enough to buy a spare tire for folks caught on the road with no spare and a flat that can_t be repaired, or a bus ticket to get folks home when there_s no other way.

The Community Action Agency is nation-wide and while they don_t have much in the way of emergency funds, they do have a small amount of money for that sort of thing. Plus they usually know other agencies in the community that have services available.

I_m thinking the Catholic Church_s St. Vincent de Paul organization might be able to help, too.

  • i don_t mean to sound unsympathetic, but send him some money for a bus ticket. Why should the tax payers of California provide transportation for him? He probably knew he had a warrant, and he obviously did something _illegal_ to have the police show interest in him.

Forget about trying to get a ride with _truck drivers_. Most trucking companies prohibit their drivers from having any passengers in the truck. It_s that _insurance_ thing.

  • well he can do 1 of to things, greyhound bus is really cheap out there,or a train,if thats not an option,go to the nearest truck stop and catch a ride with a truck driver,we driver tend to go to michigan alot, good luck,iv been there. and done that.

  • Do you not have any money to fly him home? Can his Dad help him out a little? I mean, your husband went out there to help HIM in the first place, that_s sort of jacked up if he can_t stay with his dad for a few days. Greyhound is pretty cheap, I have no idea what their rates are though. Otherwise I guess he_d have to hitchhike w/ truckers, and hope that one of them is on his way to Michigan.. Sorry to hear about your sitch...
  • How much will tolls cost us from Philadelphia to Boston?|186379

A group of us is driving up to Boston from Philadelphia and we are trying to budget our selves for gas and toll. Does anyone know how much it costs or where I can go to find out? Thanks!!

  • not sure exactly how much tolls would be. but to give you an idea you_ll have a toll between jersey and philly, jersey turnpike going up and coming back, george washington bridge between jersey and ny, theres a toll between ny and conn. on 95, after that i imagine you_ll head north on 95 to 90 north into mass.and boston. not sure if there_s a toll between conn. and mass. but i don_t think so. also not sure if you pay same tolls on way home. but to be safe i would set aside a min. of $40. that should get you there and you_ll know about what it_ll cost coming back.
