What are some fun things to do at Denver, that are unique to that area?|183340

We are taking some teenagers to denver and want to know the best things to do their that are unique to Denver.

  • The Celestial Seasonings tea factory is in Boulder, about an hour west of Denver. The tour is very good. Hammond_s candies is another tour that might be fun. The Molly Brown house museum is in Denver. You may want to check with the visitor_s bureau and see if they have any better ideas.

  • Go to Pearl Street in Boulder. It_s a pedestrian street with window shopping and street performers. It_s really pretty cool. Make sure you stick together though...

The Denver Museum of Nature and Science was always fun when my school went. They have an imax theater, a health evaluation exhibit, and other random stuff that_s pretty entertaining.

If you have the opportunity, go skiing/snowboarding of course.

If your group of teenagers likes skateboarding or skating there is a nice skatepark at the Colorado Mills mall. Woodward Skatepark.

There is a United States Mint in Denver. That can be fun.

The Celestial Seasonings Tea center is a lot of fun. You can take a tour that tells about all the different kinds of tea. lol.

That_s about all I can think of right now...

  • Althought it only happens once a year, Denver is home to _sport stacking_ You may have heard of it, may not have. Once a year, they hold the world sportstacking championchips, in the Colisum. I_ve been to it twice, and it_s great fun. You might want to check that out sometime.

  • Well if you are looking for a cool restaurant you should go to Casa Bonita. It is a mexican restaurant and its awesome! They have cliff divers and fire throwers. They also have like this dark cave thing that you can walk through and lots of different cool rooms. It is a huge place!

  • Take a walk along the 16th street mall. That is a lot of fun.

  • haha...nice blake
take them to the grand canyon!!!!!!!!!

i would love to go there!

  • Concerts at Red Rocks

  • Where is a new, fairly affordable place for a young family to settle outside of Jacksonville, Florida?|171114

I am looking for suburbs outside of Jacksonville where my family and I can settle, preferably close to the beach. Our children are young (less than 4 years old). Just some place safe, quiet, close enough to the highway with food and shopping close by. Any native Floridians have suggestions?

  • Might want to look at Nocatee along FL 210. With the real estate slowdown, there are some good bargains to be had there, altho it may be a while before you see many of the promised amenities. While it_s a bit out of the way currently, the go-ahead on FL 9B was recently given, which means a few years down the road there will be a major route directly into Jacksonville.
  • Which state is better to live, California or Kentucky?|171009

I live in Arizona and my family are planning to live in one of those places. Which is place is more relaxing.

  • Kentucky..i went there over the summer and it was awesome!!
    = )

  • Both are beautiful states. Kentucky has a much lower cost of living than California. Kentucky as a whole is more laid back than California. However, California does have some laid back areas. San Diego and the beaches of Orange County get my pick for the most laid back.
Both have their positives and negatives. It really depends on what your family is looking for.
California is much more diverse. It is a huge state and offers a large variety of types of places to live; Northern vs. Central vs. Southern California. You can go from snow in the mountains to the desert in less than an hour. There is a lot more to do in California than Kentucky.

  • California is huge and it depends a lot on what part of Cali. Kentucky may be relaxing but I would never really want to live there. A lot of rednecks and hillbillys in Kentucky...it_s real country in most parts. That is good if you are into that sort of thing. Kentucky is also near Indiana and Ohio which is cool because there is a lot to do and see in those places.

I suppose it would depend on what exactly you are looking for. Kentucky is definately relaxing as its mostly rural. As for Cali there are both rural and big city areas and it would depend on which you end up moving to. Good luck!

  • kentucky definately. i run out of louisville ky every week to los angelos, san diego, camp pendleton, all the way up 5 to huron ca, if you like looking at tomato_s all day long or if you enjoy cabbage fields the california is the place for you lol!!! and if you like having the state of california ripping you off and pulling you over to check that your not an alien then i guess its alright, as far as dirt in kentucky yes we have dirt and to say kentucky has child molestors would be correct but california is molsetor free apparently to one comment on here so as for being well of both states [well kentucky anyway,california wants to stop you at checkpoints and check you in at the border as you come into their country, you wont have to do that in kentucky you can just drive across the state line and not explain why you are in their state] id suggest the so called red neck state of kentucky its all one gang of rednecks so you wouldnt have to choose between the _bloods and cripts_ just dont move to kentucky expecting to be a cross dresser and getting the same warm reception as you would in cali. :}

  • Um, I dunno much about Kentucky, but I live in California, and it_s amazing! :) Beaches and everything. No doubt that the ocean is relaxing ;) And there are theme parks and stuff....and you can go snowboarding, or hiking, or whatever. :D And fine colleges, too, if you_re interested in those.

  • California, definitely. I live here in Cali and there_s so much to do.

Beaches, amusement parks, national parks, mountains, valleys, big cities, small cities, all kinds of people, it_s just an awesome place.

  • If you want relaxing and layed back, Go to kentucky.
A lot of country folks, And slow moving pace.
I live in alabama, It_s too slow for me here, So kentucky is not the place for me.

  • How long does it take to travel to washington DC from California?|198427

ok so my friend who i kinda like is going to washington dc, and he left this morning and i was kinda wondering how long it would be until he returned my last text.. i know how weird.
but he is gone for a whole week, and i was just wondering. i know that they are 3 hours a head, but i just want to know how long it takes. :D

    thanks guys.

  • 4-6 hours, good luck.

  • If he_s flying, and it_s a direct flight, between 4 and 5 hours, give or take. I_ve flown between LAX and BWI as well as between LAX and IAD (Dulles), and depending on the winds, they_re about the same traveling time.

But don_t forget he_ll want to pick up his baggage and get a ride to wherever he_s staying, so it may be longer before he has a chance to text you.

  • by plane 4 hours from DC to L.A
  • How does the weather in Minneapolis compare to Portland, Maine?|199387

My family is considering a move to Minneapolis but I_ve only been there briefly. I used to live in Portland, Maine and wondering if anyone if familiar with how the weather compares. Specifically, it seems Minneapolis has colder winters but maybe shorter?? Are the summers warmer and longer?

  • Comparing the two on accuweather.com, it does appear that Minneapolis does indeed have a colder but shorter winter.
Minneapolis gets colder in the winter and slightly warmer in the summer.

Links to both cities are posted below.
