What are some fun things to do/good places to stay in Boston?|162217

My boyfriend and I are going for the first time for a few days. What are some fun things we could do there? I_ve heard there are some haunted tours.

Also, does anyone know a reasonable priced hotel to stay at that is close the action.

Thank you!

  • Must-see sights
    Faneuil Hall Marketplace
The Freedom Trail (includes Boston Common and the USS Constitution)
    Harvard Square (Cambridge)

Take a swan boat ride in the lagoon of Bostons Public Garden (mid-April to mid-September)
The Big Dig has made driving in Boston ... well, difficult. Use the opportunity to explore this great city on foot.
Visit nearby Lexington on Patriots Day (third Monday in April) and see Revolutionary War reenactments.
  • How long does it take for the bus from port authority bus terminal to Six Flags?|148452

Me and my friends want to go to six flags and decided to go by the bus. We already know that it leaves at gate 324 and is route 308 and the price is 53$.
However We just want to know how long it would take to get there.
because we would have to plan out breakfast and lunch before hand.
We_re going to go on monday.

  • Trip takes 90 minutes but does not run all the time.
If you miss the last bus, you need to take #139 bus to Freehold Center for #307 to Six Flags Great Adventure.

  • The trip takes about 90 minutes from New York City to Six Flags.

    Good luck and enjoy

  • fgire on 2 1/2 hours with traffic.

    enjoy this event.
  • Why is it that when anyone not from Houston asks about Houston, the people from here brag about the size?|151788

In other words, why is it that when someone talks with someone else who is born and raised here, the person from Houston brags about the size or population? There are other cities bigger than Houston.

  • Not only that, the ridiculous thing is, who cares if Houston_s city limits are so large? It_s not like the downtown area is that big. When everyone said, _Houston is 600 square miles, bla bla bla,_ I expected some big downtown. But instead it_s like 5 skyscrapers and that_s it. Downtown is NOTHING. The rest of _Houston_ is basically suburbs. Big deal. Your city is a fungus! Congratulations!

And then when you ask for someone to explain why it_s such a big thing that the city limits are large, it_s like that scene in Spinal Tap when Nigel is going on about the amp going to 11 instead of 10.

Nigel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?
Marty: Put it up to eleven.
    Nigel: Eleven. Exactly. One louder.
Marty: Why don_t you just make ten louder and make ten be the top number and make that a little louder?
Nigel : [pause] These go to eleven.

  • No, you just found someone who agreed with your premise. That, in and of itself, does not make it the best answer. It makes both of you incorrect.

  • I like Houston, but its a bunch of yankee_s living there and they_re truly proud of how many indians were slaughtered to obtain that land.

  • Saying something is large is not necessarily saying that its a good. It is a big city (physically and has a big population) and, why are you asking if you don_t want to know Houstonian_s opinion? I am originally from a small town in PA and coming here I haven_t heard anyone _bragging_ about size.

  • is it bragging or are they just pointing out the large population? lot of people in the U.S. don_t realize houston is so big, so it_s worth mentioning. obviously new york, chicago and LA are way bigger, so why brag?

  • because its the fourth largest city in the u.s , but it has come along way, and besides, texans are texans, lmao

  • YEP! HOUSTON_S a GREAT BIG CITY and TEXAS is LIKE A WHOLE OTHER COUNTRY!!!

My self esteem is just fine thank you! :)
It wouldn_t change no matter where I was from and/or lived!

If you have an issue with it go to Hollywood, mizzhollywood!

  • When someone asks how tall you are and you answer honestly, are you bragging? If someone asks about your hometown and how large or small it is, is that a measure of your own self esteem? And of course, there are numerous cities world wide larger than Houston. No rocket science involved there.
    Really, your question is nonsensical.

  • are you from Houston ? ? ? ? ?

  • What is your problem with Houston? You seems to have a dislike for the city. If you are an adult there is nothing forcing you to stay there. My suggestion to you is to find another city and/or state to live in.

  • yea there are cities bigger but not many in the us. and when people talk about there home town they talk about how big it is.
and it is bragging to some level. and we are proud of our city.

why we brag aka now for the bragging:
our city has a higher pop than the state of Minnesota and 28 other states ( yea i found that hard to believe but i can_t fight the numbers)

  • Houston has the second largest area of any city in the United States (the largest is Jacksonville, FL).

There are three cities larger in population (NY, Chicago, LA), but nowhere near the physical size.

Didn_t you ask this question a few weeks ago, Hollywood?

People tell others because Houston is not what they expect. When you came here, didn_t you expect tumbleweeds, folks riding horses, and the usual western stuff? I don_t know one visitor or newbie in Houston that didn_t say, _I had no idea how big Houston was._ Landing at Intercontinental (which is surrounded by woods and trees) Airport adds to the surprise when they get on the freeway and say, _Where_d all this come from?_ If they landed at Hobby they_d see it all.

    I don_t need my self-esteem boosted, I assure you.

  • I don_t. Have you heard the saying-_Everything_s bigger in Texas_. That_s why they brag.

  • reason being.. _everything is bigger in texas_

that is what we are known for.
it_s not a matter of boasting.

  • How many days would it take for something to arrive from Nevada?|175387

I purchase stuff from Amazon all the time but always within CA. However this REALLY great deal was from Nevada. And to make matters worse, I bought from New Jersey and Illinois!

How many days would it probably take if items were shipped from Nevada, New Jersey, and Illinois to CA?

  • If it_s not there in two weeks, you probably have a problem.

  • It generally takes about 7 days for mail to go cross country, with the holidays wrapping up mail is still a bit slow. I would give it about 10 days.
  • What would be the best way to travel to Philadelphia from Wilmington, DE?|186273

Hello, I am wanting to get to Philadelphia (May 18) from Wilmington, DE. I do not have a car, and I cannot afford a train. Does anyone know of a way to get there and back and not spend a large sum of money? Thankyou.

  • Take the R2 septa train to the Wilmington train station (same as Amtrak station).

  • You will need to take the train. Its on $9. Cheaper than driving. If you do not have $9 than you should turn off the computer and figure out how to make some money
