What dance clubs in the Kansas City area have house music DJs?|134326

Are there any? If so, where and what nights?

I_m going to visit family and wanted to get my groove on but I didn_t know what clubs or bars played house music since house music isn_t popular in Kansas City.

  • okay, well the questioner said HOUSE, soo.... that explains that.

I would say check out Glow (above the Empire Room on 39th and Broadway) on Friday and Saturday. They are pretty cool there and a couple of my buddies (the Control Freaks) spin there regularly. Booty house mostly, sometimes jump-up and stuff like that. Also (I think) they still have a house night at The Point (20-something and Belleview) on Friday nights.

  • There are many great clubs where the dj spins the music. A lot depends on he type of music you like to dance to--hip hop, club, country western, etc. And the age bracket of people you want to be around. One final thing is of course what part of town. A great source is the pitch I believe you can go online to the pitch kansas city mo. Google it and it will pop up

  • I am going to have to agree with Revilo on this one.
  • What is the last date you can walk down into the canyon?|133845

I need info on hiking down into the canyon; how long it will take, how wide the trails are,can you stay overnite in hotel, average time in and out of canyon, how many miles down, are there guilded tours to hike in and out of canyon and what is the last date you can hike in and out of canyon.

  • Although I personally disagree with the policy , there is no _last date _ you can or cannot hike the Canyon
Be aware of the fact that there is always a 30 degree temp difference between rim and river
I have come out of the Canyon literally up to my azz in snow after starting the day on the River wearing shorts and a t shirt.
    Current Grand Canyon weather S.Rim
    Hi 32
    Low 9
Do the math : 80 degrees on the Rim= Hell in the Inner Canyon
I_m not going to answer all of your Q_s in detail
because it would take too long and I type at glacial speed
From a hikers perspective there are two really unique things about the Canyon
    1) Unlike mountains where you do your hardest work going uphill when you_re well rested . If you do a long day hike in the Canyon , you will be working the hardest when you_re the most tired
The rule of thumb is allow twice the time for the up hill as you did for the downhill and with a pack on that could easily become 2.5 or even 3x.
    2) Assuming that you don_t have the gear to cya ,safety in the Canyon is often above you and for me that was completely counter -intuitive even though I did have the gear.
I_m gonna finish this later because it_s gonna take a while

  • Is there a map on the internet of the major stores on the miracle mile in Chicago?|143478

I have looked but haven_t found anything like it. Maybe I am just thinking there should be something and there isn_t. If there is, that would be great. We are going there with the kids soon and I just want to know of an idea of the places we would like to see so I get them in with the least amount of walking. I have an 8 yr old, 5 yr old, 3 yr old and am 8 months pregnant. Thank you for any help in advance.

  • It_s called the Magnificent Mile. Here_s a map:

  • American Girl Store is always big. There_s a pretty cool Lego store in the Nordstrom_s Mall (about 550 N. Michigan).

If you_re going to cruise up and down the north part of Michigan Avenue and don_t want to deal with crowds, walk over one street to the west. Rush Street runs parallel with Michigan Ave and you don_t have to deal with the crowds. I work off Michigan and I use it all the time if I need to get somewhere in a hurry.

  • its the magnificent mile =]

  • When is the best time to visit SeaWorld Orlando?|157527

I_m thinking of visiting SeaWorld Orlando in September... Is this suggested, or is there a better time to go? I_m trying to avoid all of the hustle and bustle of all of the kids who are out of school and the summer vacationers.

Any insight is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

  • September, after Labor Day should be good, because most tourists are home by then. Another good time is Jan-Feb, after the holidays when most people aren_t taking vacations. It_s colder here then, but not too bad compared to up north. Usually a sweater is all that is needed.

  • I visited SeaWorld Orlando last October. It was great weather, and not much for crowds. You will always have to deal with some kids and vacationers, but we found that October didn_t have much issue at all. Another cool place to go is Discovery Cove. You spend all day snorkeling and can swim with dolphins. It_s very cool.

  • it_s the best time to go Lucky you!!

  • If you want to travel during the low season, September should be fine. After the Labor Day holiday things slow down a bit until the Thanksgiving holiday. The only other concern is that we will still be in the hurricane season so you might want to monitor the Central Florida area weather to see if anything is starting to form in the waters.

  • I recommend you go on a nice sunny day, prefferably during the summer. It can be difficult to book your vacation based on what dates will or will not be busy. The Orlando parks are usually always busy and can sometimes be unpredictable since people come from all over the world at many different times. I recommend you dont consider this as a factor in your vacation planning. Here is a link to the SeaWorld website if your interested in more info on that park:

Hope that helps. Just come down and have fun!

  • Try late Sept thru early Nov. The crowds are down as is the humidity. Beware Hurricane season runs thru mid to end NOV.

  • September should be nice. It will not be as hot, and the lines will be considerably shorter.

  • well if you don_t want to wait in line, then go there when it_s raining that what i did and it was raining and almost no body showed up.

  • I used to live in Orlando and can tell you September is usually rainy and not pleasant humidity wise. Try Mid to Late October, which is dry and out of hurricane season. The weather is usually nice and not crowded tourist-wise.

  • well go in the summer so you can be a little bit warmer

  • in the summer ofcourse
