Would my friends and I be able to stay in hotels on a trip down the east coast of the USA?|161446

Anyone know if hotels would allow a mix of 18 and 17 year olds to stay there unaccompanied? (4 maximum)

  • No. Most require all occupants to be 21 or over - unless you have legal guardians/parents hosting children under their protection. Sorry.

  • Most don_t say anything when handed a credit card with ID at 18 as long as the info like Name matches. To be on the safe side the 17 year old can get a paper from Guardian or parent that states they have permission to be staying at the hotel(s) and have it notarized. I have found that most states on the east coast aside from alcohol consumption and gambling allow 18 year old to act as adults after all if you commit a crime you will be charged as an adult.

  • You do need to check with the individual hotels. Some require age 21 to check-in and others only require age 18.

Most hotels in the USA that require age 21 do so becasue there are mini-bars containing alcohol in the rooms.

    Good luck!
  • What are zip codes for the west side of palmdale?|109037

I_m looking at moving there but want to be closer to the freeway and the best elementary school and hospital.

  • This link will take you to greatschools.net to compare Palmdale elementary schools. The rating scale is 1-10, 10 being the best. There are two with a rating of 6, located in zip codes 93551 and 93552. You can probably expand your search out, to possibly find schools nearby with higher ratings, but thought you would like to start here.

  • What Should I Wear to the New York Philharmonic?|179314

I am attending one Saturday matinee, and two weekend evening performances. Neither of them are galas. I need some advice for what a girl should wear and what a guy should wear.

  • Girl: Nice dress, nothing puffy though. Stockings, low heels.

    Guy: Suit.

  • I went to the Phoenix Symphony the other night -- I wore a button-up long sleeve shirt with slacks and dress shoes. The women wore simple dresses.

I don_t know if the NY Philharmonic is more upscale - maybe clothing you would wear to a wedding, or to church? I don_t think a tuxedo would be appropriate...

  • Do you have a lil black dress?? Nothing too glam. A nice simple dress with pretty accessories. I think a up-do will be good. For the guy a nice suit with a different type of shirt not a dress shirt but maybe a nice polo inside?

  • you must be dressed up at all times

  • For the Evening try a simple dress, Black is always good. For a guy, a basic suit is fine.

For the matinee , its a bit more casual, a sweeter and khakis or Docker Types are OK.

  • a coctail dress in the evening and a decent dress, skirt and blouse or even pants suit in the day time. guy in the day dockers and a blazer, oxford shirt and tie. evening a dark suit , white shirt and tie.
  • Can i rent a car in houston texas and turn it in in new york?|176532

We are planning a trip to new york in march. We are leaving from Houston Texas. Can I rent a car in Houston and turn it in in New York? We plan on catching a plan back.

  • You can, but it will cost a lot more than returning it in Houston.

  • Sure, but it_ll cost you far more than the airplane flight. Driving 1700 miles? Don_t do it. Fly there, rent a car (not at the airport) and fly back.

  • it_s cheaper to fly there too than driving unless u want to visit other cities on the way.
thousands of miles is a lot of gas money.
  • What are the best areas to live in Buffalo, NY?|190014

I am thinking about relocating to Buffalo for a few different reasons, but I am hoping for some advice. What areas are good and which ones are bad? Is the weather worse in some places than others? Which places are safest, etc. Thank you!

  • We_d welcome you here.

I guess it depends on what you are looking for in terms of location. The general rule is, snow piled up the more south you go from the city of Buffalo. Yes, storms do hit everywhere from time to time because of lake effect snow, but the so-called southtowns get hit more often (West Seneca, Hamburg, Orchard Park, etc.).

In the city, the best area is probably North Buffalo. South Buffalo isn_t far behind although a little more blue collar. The other parts of the town aren_t as nice. City living has its advantages in terms of convenience and lifestyle.

In the suburbs, the economic leaders probably are Clarence, Orchard Park, East Aurora, Amherst, Williamsville and Lancaster. Lackawanna is down there with Buffalo in terms of average income. Tonawanda is a notch above.

  • The best places probably would be Clarence or Amherst.
Worst would be in the actually city or the Tondawanas.
The weather_s worst in the Southtowns. (west seneca, hamburg, etc.) The weather really isn_t that bad though, it_s the unemployment.

  • east aroura

  • Buffalo has been known to get unimaginable amounts of snow otherwise it_s ok.Do your homework as to where you want to live.
