What is the best route to drive cross country from CA to CT in the winter?|142466

Obviously I want to avoid the ice and snow found while driving across the Sierra Nevada from Sacramento to Reno, as well as the icestorms across the North route, in Dakota and Wyoming etc. I will be moving cross country in a 4x4 V6 2005 Ford Explorer.

  • If your starting in sacramento, you should take 80 all the way to Pennsylvania. You might have a bit of snow but that is the shortest route. (can be done in 3 days if you can do 1000 miles a day)

If you have time to kill, you want to head south to Los Angeles and take the southern route I40 to oklahoma and then cut up north through Missouri, IL, IN and hook up with I80.
  • Where are some good places to vacation in Florida?|166064

My boyfriend and I are interested in a romantic weekend getaway, but we_re not sure where to go. We live in Florida and are going to take our dog (a pug), so any place that is pet friendly would be best. We_re not really interested in going out on the town or anything, but rather, just enjoying time in a nice resort or beach or something. Any ideas?

  • Siesta Key near Sarasota is very nice.

  • Melbourne, Sebastian, Stuart...any of those little towns along the intracoastal are nice places to visit. Pretty quiet and laid back down there. In Sebastian there is a treasure museum, it_s not real big but the history and artifacts packed in that little museum are amazing! Nice beaches there too! Good luck

  • How about the Destin/Fort Walton Beach area? Beautiful beaches, things to do if you want, or nice condos and resorts to stay at if you_d rather just have alone time.

I live here and love it!

  • Sandestin is great! Lots to do, your puppy will be welcome and there are young people to meet and pal around with!

  • Jacksonville FL

  • I love orlando beach

  • Bradenton, on the gulf coast. Nice, small town - pretty beaches. Close to Sarasota.
