How much does it cost to travel Rail in USA and where does it go?|116755

Is it similiar to airline fares. How long does it take to travel coast to coast?

  • Passenger trains in the United States are run by the government corporation Amtrak. Most Americans travel by air, so rail travel is quite limited. Amtrak is a great way to see the United States.

It takes a almost three days to cross the United States by rail. Railfares are comparable to airfares if you don_t mind sleeping in your seat. Sleeping rooms increase fares substantially. Amtrak offers special USA Rail Passes for international visitors.

  • I traveled via AMTRAK from Charleston, WV to Los Angeles, CA and it took about 3 days. The scenery along the way was incredible, making the journey very worthwhile.
  • A good family place to go for labor day weekend on east coast?|117236

Hi everyone. My husband and I are planning on taking our one year old away for labor day weekend. We live on the east coast and want to drive. Do you have any family place/beach that doesn_t cost an arm and a leg? Thank you so much!!

  • the key to cheap beach vacations is to go to towns that tourist normaly dont go you can enjoy all the same things for a lot less
  • What are the neighborhoods to avoid in phoenix? and which ones are good for lower middle class families?|149588

Where should I live in Phoenix? Where shouldn_t I live?

  • South mountain area is okay avoid central.

  • Don_t live in Phoenix, try the outskirts. Glendale, Peoria, Scottsdale... Phoenix is not that good of a place to raise a family. Sunnyslope is big on hard core drugs. West of the 17 is big on drugs... Just go for outskirts, Phoenix itself is really bad with drugs... Avoid the Deer Valley school district, they are supposed to be the best, but they are really horrible. They ignore problems instead of solving them.

  • Try to avoid South Phoenix and West Phoenix. Anything south of about Van Buren Street or west of the I-17 is not the type of environment I would choose to raise a family in, and I think most of the people who raise families there (and there are a lot of them) do so because they can_t afford much else.

Where you SHOULD live depends on what you are looking for. If you want a diverse neighborhood that_s still a great place to raise kids, try the Sunnyslope area.

  • Some parts of Central, South and West Phoenix are bad.

Phoenix is kind of weird cause you can have Million dollar homes like in the North Central area, and then you drive two blocks and your in a dump.

Peoria is really nice with middle class to millionaires in the area. The schools system is really good, and it_s close to the Arrowhead Entertainment District and not far from the Glendale Gateway City Center. The difference with the people that have money in Peoria compared to people with money in Scottsdale (Snobsdale) is that they are more laid back and would drive a nice big truck or SUV over an expensive Mercedes. The 101 freeway is close to Peoria so it_s easy to commute in any direction. North Glendale (Arrowhead Area) is next to Peoria, and it_s a really nice neighborhood to. The Peoria Sports Complex is hosting spring training right now, and the surprise stadium isn_t far either. Lake Pleasant is only a few minutes away to.

  • stay away from van buren and some areas of phoenix like 12 street and cambell are pretty much spanish phoenix is a large city try out skirts better
