  • How to plan fun activities in snow for my family?|157716

    I am planning outing with my family along with my friends. As you know that snow is falling very heavily all around that is why I searching for some good tips to plan it out.

    I found

    http://www.tictacdo.com/ttd//How_to_plan_fun_activities_in_snow_with_your_family_and_friends

    This is very helpful. But if anything is missed on this, please add so that I can make this outing memorable for me as well as for my family too?

  • You seem to have a good idea of what to do when you get there. So, I_ll give you some tips on how to prepare for the trip.

    Check the current weather conditions before you go (watch the Weather Channel or go to a website like Intellicast to see current temperatures and Doppler radar loops). Consider that the roads may be covered with snow and chains may be required. If you don_t have chains, the highway patrol will make you turn around, basically ruining your day. You can get them the cheapest at some place like WalMart for about $40. If you get them locally at the bottom of the mountain, they gouge you for at least twice that. Practice putting them on before you leave. And, you might want to bring along a tarp or something to set on the ground while you install them. The road will be all slushy and muddy where they will require you to install them.

    Make sure you take along a cell phone or two-way radio. You can possibly get stuck in the snow or slip off the road into a ditch in snowy conditions. And, you_ll need to call someone for help. Also, take along some non-perishable food and water. If you do get stuck or run off the road, it may be a while before someone comes to get you. A basic first aid kit is a good idea, too. And, make sure everyone has warm jackets, gloves, boots, and hats to wear. It could get a lot colder than you think.

    Everyone should put on sunscreen on exposed skin and lip balm, and wear good UV filtering sun glasses. The sun bounces off the snow and it kind of amplifies the sunburn effect. It_s also very dry if the temperature is below freezing, and you can easily get chapped lips and wind burn.

    Be on the lookout for patches of ice on the road. Over night, it can get very cold to the point where patches of ice form. And, if the ice is in the shade all morning, it may not melt until the afternoon, if at all. And, it_s extremely slick (you_ve probably seen the videos of cars in the southeast lately spinning around on icy roads). It_s also hard to see some times. It could look like a puddle or be covered with a light layer of snow. Or, it could be black ice, where it looks like pavement, but it_s actually a layer of ice.

    Keep the kids hydrated. When they run around in the snow, they may sweat a lot in their warm clothes and not realize how dehydrated they_re getting. Take a cooler full of Gatorades, bottles of water, etc.

    Observe the speed limits and give yourself extra room between cars, especially if there_s a layer of snow on the road. And, be especially cautious going around turns. A layer of snow on the road can quickly get compacted by the cars and become very slick. If there are ruts in the snow from other peoples_ tires, try to drive in them yourself. You_ll be less likely to slip across the snow that way.

    Good luck and have fun.
  • What is the hottest and most exclusive night club in miami right now?|155625

    Next month I am taking my husband and some friends to Miami for his 25th birthday, we are staying at the Lowes Miami Beach, and i wanted to know what the best clubs were right now. I know clubs go in and out of style just as much as they do here in NY so i wasn_t sure if Mansion and Opium Garden were still the places to be.

  • I_d say Cameo, Mansion, or Prive. They_re all good, and they have different styles of music on different nights. There_s always Space, too, but it_s not on the beach (very close by though).

    You can check out
    http://www.cooljunkie.com/
    to see what events are going on at the various clubs during the dates you_re here.

    BTW, if you_re going to hang out at a hotel bar, go to the Shore Club or the Delano - not the Marlin Hotel.

  • I would say Mynt saturday nights...

    Best night of the week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi,

    Check out the Marlin Hotel NightClub and bar on Collins. Its well renowned as a happening place these days and very cool - also I_m guessing should suit your age bracket.

  • Fridays you can go to Cameo, Stereo/Parkewest... and Saturdays belong to Space! lol
  • Whats the best way to get into popular Vegas dance clubs?|168228

    I_m going to Vegas soon and want to check out some of the popular night clubs. Any suggestions on the best ways to avoid standing in line? Thank you!

  • Get VIP line passes...lots on ebay.

    If you are female, dress very skimpy and hot.

    If you are male....no can do.

  • Feel free to contact me - I have my own VIP list to the new club Pollyesthers at the Stratosphere.

  • #1 Get your hands on some VIP passess
    #2 Be in the company of a very hot female
    #3 A couple of C-notes to the doorman

  • You can get VIP passes from lots of places but the safest is Vegas.com

    VIP allows you front of the line access to clubs which can cut your wait time dramatically down.

    The next way is going to sound shallow but its true. If you are attractive and dressed to the nine lots of times bouncers will hand you free passes/VIP to the hottest clubs.
    I have witnessed ladies flirting with older gentleman in the front of the line and they were allowed to _cut in_.
  • Which is a good youth hostel in Chicago?|129338

    I am looking for:

    * Bar
    * Mixed dorms
    * Good location

    I have already looked on such websites as hostelworld or hostelbookers, and the HI one keeps coming up as the top rated one, but it doesn_t have mixed dorms or a bar.

    Any suggestions? Maybe some cool independent ones?

    I am looking at going there in the final week of September.

  • Try Arlington House in the Lincoln Park area (
    http://www.arlingtonhouse.com/).
    Not too many hostels, if any, have bars in them. The drinking age makes that kinda tough. But Arlington house is in Lincoln park and there are tons of bars in the immediate area. In fact the Arlington HOuse website has a link to the ones with cheap beer and food that are nearby. Hosteling International is cool, but it_s in the Loop and on the weekends the Loop is kinda dead after 8 p.m. Trust me, the places you_re going to want to hang out are away from the Loop. Arlington HOuse is in a good location.

  • The Hosteling International site seems to indicated only one hostel for Chicago, info below, course you know that already. I_m not finding anything different either. Not a bad location but not with everything you are looking for.

  • Define hostel, because in the US, there isn_t any such thing as a hostel? Especially, in Chicago. We have motels and hotels. and hotels in chicago that has a bar, you are looking at with taxes at least $100 per night.
