How much is a septa r100 trolley to subway transfer?|162679

Is it free to get off at 69th Street Terminal and take the subway or bus to Center City, or do I have to buy a transfer? How do I buy a transfer, and who do I give the transfer to? Can I just use tokens?

  • when you get on the 100, give the septa employee 2.00 or a septa token. At the same time give .60 cents too and ask for a transfer. right now they are redoing the subways from 69 street to 40 th street, so their are suttle buses. get on the shuttel bus and give the septa emplpyee your transfer. the shuttel bus stops at 40 th street and follow the people and they will take you to the subway. its free to get on it and get off your stop. tokens would be easier but more money
  • What is the best way to get from Penn Station to Ship of Fools?|161988

Address is 1590 Second Avenue Between 82nd and 83rd.

MTA.Info is telling me to take the N from Herald Square and transfer to the 6 to 86st street and walk down.

But with the crane collapse will this way be affected, or is there another way?

  • My friend, the crane fell on on 91st Street, the Ship of Fools is located about 10 block south of the accident. Here how to get the from Penn Station.

Step 1: take the uptown (northbound) _E_ train (Blue Line Local) from Penn Station to Lexington Avenue/53rd Street.

Step 2 at Lexington Avenue/53rd Street, transfer upstairs (follow the directional signs) to the #6 train (Green Line Local). Take the uptown (northbound) train from the 51st Street to 86th Street.

Step 3: at 86th Street, exit the subway, and walk east (towards the East River) 2 blocks from Lexington Avenue (86th Street Subway Station) to 2nd Avenue. At 2nd Avenue and 86th Street, turn right and walk an additonal 3 and a half block south along 2nd Avenue, from 86th Street to 1590 2nd Avenue.

The fare on the subway is $4 round trip ($2 each way).

I hope this information is very helpful. Good luck.

  • Is there still free parking downtown when going to a Colts game on Sundays?|175282

Haven_t been to a Colts game for a few years and have tickets to the game on Sept. 13.
Is there still free parking available on the streets around the stadium like there was many years ago?

Can you still park at the capital building?

    Thanks!

  • I have tickets too!

You can always park an a meter on the weekends for free, but good luck finding one. I will be parking at Delaware and South streets, mainly because I have a connection there. Best bet is to find a lot 4 to 6 blocks away so you don_t have to fight your way out of the traffic.

See ya at the game, I_ll be the white guy in the Colts jersey. lol.

  • If you get there early there some street parking but any lot or garage will charge. Lots are cheaper than a garage. You can usually get by for 4 - 7 dollars in a lots. You may be a couple blocks away. If you park close you could pay $12-15 in a garage.

  • Your best bet is to park at the government center parking garage on washington street. Then you can walk down to LOS which takes about 5 minutes or so.

We_ve parked there to go to games before and it is much easier.

  • not on the streets around the stadium as far as I_m aware of. I_d say, park in a lot because some of them are pretty close and only around 5 bucks for some.

  • I have no idea.

However, if you have an extra, I_m ready to go.
  • What kind of form of Identification do I need to go to California from New York?|172500

I_m 14 and I want to go to California next year when I_m 15. I_m going with 4 other friends that are 15. What kind of identification do I need to go to California that is NOT a passport?

  • You should be able to get some sort of a state ID card. Ask your parents to help you with this.
  • Is it safe to send my teenage daughter to camp at a music festival (Bonnaroo) in Manchester, TN?|173860

My 18-year-old daughter wants very much to go to a music festival in Manchester, TN called Bonnaroo. She is planning on camping there with a group of collage students. Can anyone advise me on the safety of Bonnaroo? Will she encounter drugs and alcohol there?

  • on her own, i would not allow it.
with several friends and an adult to accompany them, i would.
    i

  • Let her go to the ******* festival

  • yes, it would be safe to send your daughter to bonnaroo, she is old enough to start making her own decisions and just like everyone else said, if you brought her up right not to do drugs and alcohol, she will be able to make the right decision on her own, not only that the bonnaroo music festival has rules and regulations reguarding the use of drug and alcohol, they strictly prohibit it, from the site i posted in the source you can find these rules and regulations, plus they also state what you should bring and not bring, in addition what the schedule will be like so you will pretty much know everything your daughter will be doing, and again shes 18 the age where you get out on your own, trust in your parenting skills that they have affected her in the right way and that she will make the right decisions when she has to.

  • Bonnaroo is staffed well and 24 hour security.. Of course there a bad things if you look hard enough, as is the case with any music festival, if your daughter is in the least bit well grounded you should have little to worry about. Like the above person said, trust that you raised her right and that she would have discipline to enjoy herself in a non detrimental manner. The fact that she_s going with peers could very well be an asset.

  • I think that you should let your daughter go. Bonnaro is safe and they have are very strict on their drug and alcohol policy. but if it does happen to get past the security, you should trust your daughters judgment and also trust that you raised her to make the right decision.

  • of course u should send her.
and chances are she will encounter drugs and alcohol but you have to trust yourself enough to know that you raised her right. you also have to trust her to not make dumb decisions that will her into unsafe situation.
trust her. you only live once

  • I think it_s very safe.
From what I hear they_re very strict on things like drugs and alcohol getting in.
Plus, she would be with friends, which, of course, makes things safer, and should make you feel less nervous.

  • I_ve been to bonnaroo several times, and never seen any drugs, and only moderate alcohol. Out of music festivals, I_d say it_s the safest.

  • She_s 18 so unfortunately (VERY unfortunately in this case) you can_t stop her if she can afford to go on her own... but if she can_t afford it and she_s trying to get YOU to send her on your dollar, DON_T DO IT!!!! The place is absolutely overrun with drugs and alcohol and sex- it_s like Woodstock from the 60_s, but every year! Yes, there are lots of great, normal people who do go there and there are a lot of amazing bands that play there, but an 18 year old- in MY opinion (as someone who has raised 3 daughters, now all in their 30_s, and someone who has been rasing other people_s kids a s a nanny for 38 years) does not have the resources to deal with the things she will encounter there. I would NEVER willingly allow or want my child to go to Bonnaroo. Good Luck!
  • How is it living in the San Francisco Bay area?|146611

I_m planning on attending a college in the San Fran bay area. Do you enjoy living there? How_s the weather, beaches, and night life? Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

  • Born-n-Raised ...

SF has everything ... (well except parking LOL)

    You_ll find ...
every culture, every food, every music ...
theater, museums, movies, malls _ night clubs ...
seedy bars, upscale bars, pubs, diners and dives ...
surfers, stoners, yuppies, strippers, street walkers, and trannies ...
    LOL !!!

SF has many Neighborhoods were the flavor of food-n-people will vary.

San Francisco is a relatively safe city, and, with common sense you should be just fine. Most of the places you_re likely to go as a tourist are safe. However, here_s a few places you should avoid.

Hunters Point/Bayview - Never EVER go to the HP. Day or night it is extremely dangerous. Fortunately, it_s hard to get lost there - few buses go there, so it_ unlikely you_ll wind up there by mistake. There_s only ONE reason, as a tourist, that you would go there, and that_s to see the 49ers at 3Com. Stick to the main exits and don_t try to drive thru the _hood.

Tenderloin - The TL isn_t as bad as it used to be, but it should still be avoided at night. Some parts of it, like Turk Street just north of Market, should always be avoided. The bad blocks are pretty obvious - if it looks bad, turn around and find a different way.

Market _ 6th - This is one of the scummiest blocks in the city. Avoid it at all hours. SOMA from 4th Street towards downtown is relatively safe however. The main homeless area (their home) is around 7th _ Market, heading towards City Hall.

Haight Ashbury - Safe during the day, but LOTS of bums - calling them _homeless_ is intellectually dishonest. Expect to be panhandled mercilessly. Simply smile and say _sorry_ and keep walking. Do not make eye contact with anyone you don_t want to have a rambling conversation with. Junkietown - the area near Golden Gate Park at the end of Haight Street near McDonald_s - should be avoided at night.

16th _ Mission - a major transportation hub but also a VERY scummy block. If you take BART to the 16/Mission station, go up the escalators, on to the plaza, and keep walking! Don_t loiter around the plaza; all sorts of vermin hang out here. Things improve greatly just one block away.

    :-)
    Happy Traveling ...

  • I love it here, I am originally from Canada so it seems warm like the other answer said. The beaches eeehh... they are usually cold and foggy.. there is a few days a year that it gets hot on the coast. There are _micro climates_ in the bay area.. it could be 55 at the coast and you drive 20 minutes inland and its 80... I don_t know much about night life.. but If you go to
    http://www.city-data.com/forum/san-franc
there is a ton of information there.. about pretty much everything you have asked + more.. Good luck!!

  • The SF Bay Area covers alot of area.
The weather compared to what? I came here from Iowa so to me its always seemed warm. There are places you can check the weather by putting in a zip code. Put in SFs zip and check it. SF does have some heavy fog mornings

Beaches are ok but not tropical. Rockier than many areas

    Night life is hot.

  • amazing, just all is amazing
