Any ideas about honeymooning in CA in the winter?|197056

My fiance and I are getting married in January and we are holding off on a big honeymoon, so we will be staying in CA.

Anyone have any ideas where we can have a small honeymoon in CA during the winter? We were thinking about Yosemite, but I am open to other suggestions as well.

Thanks!

  • Carmel , you can visit breathtaking view of Big Sur and Monterey, see it at

  • big bear is a beautiful place in the wintertime...if you go there and get a cabin and sit next to the fire and look at the snow....very romantic

  • Does anybody know a really good place for horseback riding in Los Angeles?|120255

I don_t mind having to drive a little, but it shouldn_t really exceed an hour. I live in the San Fernando Valley and was hoping for a cool place that is fun and has beautiful nature as well.

  • No horse rentals in Norco. Lived there for 30yrs. But the is one Called River trails on Hammner. _ There are 2 _Horse Town USA_ the other one is Thermopolis WY.

  • Well the L.A. Equestrian Center in Griffith Park (by the zoo) is one possibility...There are a ton of horse farm places up toward Chatsworth (which should be close to you)...You might check out that area..

EDIT:--Good info OM....I did not know that...Sounds like fun...I am staring this question and putting that on my TTD list...

  • Well, Griffith Park has horseback riding. Big Bear is a pretty place to ride..not sure if that is too far for you, or you can try Norco in the Inland Empire..it is known as _horsetown, USA_.

  • Right there on the grounds of the LA Equestrian Center are the Griffith Park Horse Rentals. Open 7 days a week from 8 _til dusk, the stables has a fine selection of horses and easy entry into the park_s trails. They charge 15 dollars for the first hour and require a 30 dollar deposit. Every Friday evening, they offer BBQ trail rides; you go out with a group for 1 1/2 hours and return to a real Western style BBQ. The charge is 40 dollars.

Although the LA Equestrian Stables have excellent rental horses; my favorite stable to rent from are the Circle K Stables on Mariposa; just west of the Equestrian Center and two blocks south of Riverside Drive. The stables are open every day of the year except Christmas day; from 7:30 in the morning until dusk. On special occasions they have evening rides. Fees are 15 dollars for the first hour and 10 dollars for each additional hour. There is a 25 dollar deposit.

On the Hollywood side of Griffith Park sits the Sunset Ranch Hollywood Stables. Located up picturesque Beachwood Canyon literally under the Hollywood sign, one can take evening equestrian caravans through Griffith Park to the Viva Fresh Mexican restaurant for dinner; the return ride gets you back to the stables at midnight. This is a different sort of an evening; you just might get to hear a coyote howling. Sunset also offers riding lessons, lunch rides and horse rentals at competitive rates.
  • What to wear to a good Miami night club to get into the door?|148528

What is _in_ right now? I thought to wear a small black dress and gladiator platforms, would that work?

  • that sounds like a good outfit. When in doubt wear the little black dress it never goes out of style! Miami is a stylish place but simple is sexy, so I think your set! good luck :)

  • You should ride a dildo cart to get in

  • Yes, that or your B-day suit!
  • Is it rude to join in on peoples bonfires in California?|145265

Hey. I am planing a trip to California this summer, and I_ve noticed that bonfire is a quite common evening event there. So my question is; Would it be considered rude to walk up to a group of people and start mingling?

  • Not only rude, but dangerous as well. If you to bust in to a party of my brown skinned cousins from south of the border you might get a gun shoved in your face. Some of them can be very violent people.

  • Most definitely. You don_t go to parties that you weren_t invited to, do you? Fire pits are rare on most beaches, and are on a first come basis. The people that secure one have to claim it very early in the morning, and continually stay with it until night time. I_m quite sure that after going through that effort to use the Fire pit a _gate crasher_ would NOT be very welcome.

The beaches are about the only place where you can have a legal bonfire. California has suffered through several years of drought conditions, and it would be too dangerous to have a fire anywhere else.

  • Not rude but awkward mainly for you. But if you_re friendly like that and you ASK as you approach and they have no problem w/it then I don_t see how it_s rude

  • It_s like party crashing. Not polite at all. If you_re invited, that_s different. But just to walk up and start mingling is just like crashing a party.
  • Why is very difficult for poor to get standard education that can fetch them bigger in come?|119188

Travelly make it very easy to be international expose and current. etc.!!!
I believe the above idea but to you do you and the others do you support the idea?

  • ecause the way seems to be to keep the poor, poor. and the rich get richer. I think $$ is a form of social segregation!

  • If you are determined to get a good education, you will! Listening to your friends or shithouse lawyers wont get you anywhere but unfortunately alot of smart poor kids get held back that way.
There are so many bright young kids out there who have great potential but see that having a gun and stupid friends might be enough to be liked and have a place to stay...
I remember my friends son telling me that he does not need good grades in school because hell live off wellfare like mom when hes grown up... his mom was so shocked that she got her behind out of the house the next day and got herself a job. Her life has changed alot - wohoo!!! but up until that day I was the only person her son knew who had a higher education so he thought I was exotic...
Luckily, thats a couple of years ago, his grades are great and he changed schools, thinks he might want to go to college and keeps asking me for opinions on that :-D
Where am I going with this?
Well, I think alot of kids are held back by negative influence. There are more scholarships out there for poor kids than there are opportunities for middle-class kids whose parents dont really have the money for their college education either, but not enough of the poor kids are using those resources. They need better role models and teachers that dont see the rebellious ghetto kid but rather the bright mind behind the front!

  • i would have to say in my humble opinion, lack of effective management or leadership in 3rd world nations makes it hard for any international organization to implement such measures that will ensure consistant growth in educated population and most 3rd worl nations suffer from some dispute within or with external powers and so governemts agenda_s tend to be more focused in preventing the situations from escalating into disasters or into resolving economic problems created by the economic sanctions put in place by IMF and other world organization to try pressure tyrannical governments into handing over the country or to promote democracy i am no expert but thats my opinion, hope that helps
  • What is the best/cheapest place to live in the bay area?|119857

I am looking to transfer to a new area and would like it to be in the bay or least near it and close to the coast. The more to do the better. I have a family of four and don_t want my wallet to be empty after I pay rent. Any suggestions?
