What are the best areas to live in San Francisco and what are the areas to avoid?|166249

My bf _ I used to live in downtown Kansas City, MO and we loved the nightlife and downtown living so we want to find that in San Francisco, albeit as cheaply as possible - I don_t think we_re going to get away with anything less than $1000/month for rent, but we_d like to keep it as close to that as possible.

  • Get on Craigslist.com and do a search in SF and for neighborhoods, scroll down to Nob Hill. Nob Hill is up on a hill and between North Beach and Downtown. It_s beautiful and very SF. You can find a studio for $900-$1250...sometimes a 1 bedroom. Also, check out North Beach. The Tenderloin is cheap as too and it is very city like. There are a lot of bums, junkies and hookers too if you_re into that sort of thing. They don_t ever mess with you though. OH and just for sh*ts and giggles try the Marina. I found a place there that was a 1 bedroom with a garage and yard with utilities paid for $1300!
I would avoid Bayview and Hunterspoint...there is nothing down there and it is pretty rough
I also forgot to add that the Mission is a fun place for young couples...haha...i sound like a nerd. But good dive bars and mexi food

  • I would recommend living in Castro Valley. It has clean water and cleanish air. It has a great public transportation system, plus you have access to the El train (BART) that takes you to SF. Castro Valley is pretty safe too. Avoid Oakland at all costs, it is extremely dangerous and has gang trouble. Fremont, Union city, and Hayward are all about the same. They have less gang issues than Oakland, but they have terrible water and not so clean air. Plus they are very poor areas. San Lorenzo and San Leandro are very close to Castro Valley, but they have some gang issues and they are much dirtier. San Francisco is a great place, but it is very expensive, and the amount of homeless people there is unheard of. Castro Valley is just East of Hayward, just so you know that im not talking about the Castro District in SF. I would highly recommend living in Castro Valley though, its a great place for people who want to live close to the action, but don_t want to pay overpriced rent.

  • You can_t find any place in SF for under $1000, a studio in good area for $2000/month( 600 sq ft), in bad area for $1200, you may get $850 efficiency studio(250 sq ft, no kitchen) in tenderloin area.

  • Richmond district if you look around.
  • Is there a public location in South Carolina to shoot off fireworks?|165851

I_ll be traveling towards The North Carolina and South Carolina area. I know in NC its illegal. Is there any places in South Carolina where your allowed to shoot off your fireworks?

  • you can def shoot off fireworks in sc wherever you want. they shoot them off in neighborhoods where houses are crammed together, so the rural thing is not an issue. its legal.

  • The answer is in your question. It is illegal. What if the fireworks backfire in your face? What if it hits someone? What would you do then? I would not shoot fireworks. I am sure you do not want to end up on CNN headline news.

  • not sure help me out please. question to anyone from SC http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlUS4jQ.YTHMdgLn.sAP5Zzsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20090705165645AApkBu0

  • U can basically shoot them off in very rural areas. We have a lot of those.
Yeah that person above me is a dick.
