What time does it get dark in Las Vegas during Thanksgiving?|100846

I am planning a trip for the week of Thanksgiving and was curious as to when it gets dark so that I can properly set some afternoon tee times while ensuring I still get to play 18!

  • Around 6 or 7 PM. At this site below you can book any golf course in Vegas. Have fun.

  • may be this will help you to look and search in las vegas :

  • You better plan to play in the morning or early PM
  • How do you get a job at the White House?|100448

Now I don_t mean being president, I mean actually working for the upkeeping of the mansion, history and preservation of the mansion. How do you get into that field and get that job?

  • You can get it from the website and SCROLL ALL THE WAY DOWN to were it has all those BLUE LINK_s.... click on the one that Says JOBS, heres the link
    http://www.whitehouse.gov/

sorry about the caps just wanted you know know what i said was important and didnt need to look back more than twice.

Good luck with getting the job. =P

  • There are two types of jobs at the White House: political (meaning that you are appointed by the President) and civil service. I believe that the maintenance jobs are all civil service. I also believe that the US General Services Administration is responsible for maintaining the White House, and probably fills those jobs.

Particularly since 9/11, all people who work at the White House have to go through a rigorous security screening.

If anyone knows differently, please post!
  • What does California offer for health insurance for people with low income?|185177

I currently live in maine and get maine care. what would be the equivalent in california? and is it hard to get?

  • There is no equivalent.

In California, you can be an illegal immigrant or indigent and get MediCal, or you can be simply too poor to afford medical insurance and you get nothing.

  • Medi-Cal is easy to obtain if you meet the income level. Depending in the county you_ll be residing in, Medi-Cal may have a contract with an HMO Such as Kaiser Permanente. If such contract exists then you may _assign_ your Medi-Cal to the Health Plan and have zero copays or a share of cost for covered services and prescriptions . The provider of care should not have access to how your medical coverage was obtained meaning at the point of service the receptionist/clerk/physician does not know you have Medi-Cal assigned to the Health Plan only the copay amount if there be any.

You will want to contact The Department of Health Services in the county you are considering moving to so you may inquire about the application process. You may find the local office address and phone number in the yellow pages under Local Government.

    Hope this helps

  • Medi-Cal. If you moved here you would have to meet the residence requirement. Until then you have to have the Maine insurance. Contact the Med-Cal info line for more info. Medi-Cal is the equlivant of medicade through out the rest of the U_S.

  • Medical is available if you qualify. The system isn_t very good, the doctors are often in the ghetto and they will see you several times before they actually do anything so they get paid for several visits. You basically have to be on welfare to get it, or illegal, or a child of poor parents.
  • What to do in NYC when 5th av and times sq become boring?|111358

I_ve been to the city a lot already, and I got bored of tourist hot spots such as times sq and all that.

  • Oh, please!!! Those touristy things are the last thing a New Yorker would want to spend time with.

Let_s see...there are tons of great museums, there is theater - on, off and off off Broadway. There is opera. There are jazz, rock and folk clubs. Dance clubs. The best restaurants in the world! Beautiful architecture. Unique neighborhoods to walk around in. Fabulous views.

And that just scratches the surface!

Get out of Mid-town, find a great neighborhood, and just walk around. You_ll find stuff to do! Or it will find you!

  • go to the Lower East Side or SoHo. . . .fun shopping, night spots, great food.

  • go into the village

Go to the real nyc cultural places
  • What is the Buckhead area of Atlanta like?|172949

My daughter recently moved to Atlanta and is in an apartment a couple of blocks from the Lenox Square Mall in Buckhead. Can somebody who lives in the area tell me if it is a safe neighborhood? Is it mostly residential? Is it considered downtown?
    Thanks for your help!

  • It is a very nice area. It_s a pretty good ways north of the areas considered downtown and midtown. I would consider it very safe. The area right around the mall gets some crime, but a block away I think the crime drops to almost nothing.

Your daughter is in a good spot.

  • Heck yes. I_ve lived in Buckhead for 14 years- my whole life. I_ve never experienced anything bad like that. It_s mostly residential and there are some amazing schools, restaurants, and Lenox Square is really cool too. It_s probably the safest place in Atlanta. For the most part, It is where all the rich people live.

  • very nice area...not really too residential in the way of houses. Flats more so mixed with socially active Pubs.
  • Whats the cheapest way to ship a buffalo and a chicken?|173430

Needs to be there by 1:00. It_s for thoughtful gift.

  • Don_t worry about it, punkin. My Momma always said that it was better to mean well than to do well.

  • First of all you have to take the Buffalo and make jerkey out of it. The chicken you can drop into a container of liquefied nitrogen and instantly freeze it. Then pack them appropriately and call the New Mexico space port and make arrangements to have them put on the next missile launch! Easy!!

  • Call Dominoes and get some Buffalo Chicken Wings. May not solve the problem, but sometimes you just need to combine your problems to find a solution.

  • Animal crackers and chicken nuggets? Couldn_t you just deliver that stuff?

  • Ground into hamburger/sausage type style:)

  • Talk to UPS on the phone and they will advise you.

  • *looks at watch*

Well I hope you didn_t pay too much because they_re late!
