How would you recommend i spend one day in Las Vegas?|140550

We are going to LA for 10 days during thanksgiving and want to travel down to Las Vegas for a day. How long of a drive it it to there from Aneheim and what are the must see attractions!?! It_s for 2 parents, and three kids, 18, 14 and 3, so no gambling advice please! Thanks!

  • Go and see the dolphins and white tigers at the Mirage. Your older kids may like the Star Trek Experienceand Quark_s restaurant is reasonably priced and kid friendly(well for the older ones), 3 year old may not like the Borg and Klingon! you may like the fountains at the Bellagio, timings may have changed but during the daytime on the hour, evenings every half hour. The showbus of the Stars is from Planet Hollywood, you get a _celeb_ guide who sings, goes up and down the strip, that_s quite fun and you_ll see all the main strip hotels - may even catch the Treasure Island show,Gondoliers at the Venetian etc. if the traffic is slow. One tip the monorail may be cheap, but you won_t really see much travelling on that and if you only have one day-probably not worth bothering with.

  • hi i would go play the casino shop till you drop then watch a show and have few cocktails

  • Adventuredome at Circus Circus
All-day passes to the Adventuredome are $24.95 for adults and $14.95 for children 33-47 inches tall.Don_t let the pink exterior fool you, the Circus Circus Adventuredome is filled with action and thrills. Housed beneath a five-and-a-half-acre glass encasement, the Adventuredome promises fun for the whole family, young and old.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Botanical Cactus Gardens
Located in Henderson, Ethel M Chocolate Factory and Cactus Gardens is quite the adventure. Only 15 minutes away from the Strip, it attracts more than 700,000 tourists a year. Guests get to see chocolates being made, sample gourmet treats and meander through the maze of paths at the Botanical Cactus Gardens at no charge.

    Madame Tussauds Interactive Wax Attraction
General admission (13-59): $24.00. Children (7-12): $14.00. From Don King to Julia Roberts, Madame Tussauds displays more than 100 intricately designed wax replicas of well-known celebrities from the worlds of film, sports, television and music.

    Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition
Cost: $24.50 general admission. Guests may purchase passes for both the Titanic and Bodies exhibits for $43. The 25,000-square-foot exhibit features numerous items from the Titanic, including luggage, the ship_s whistles, floor tiles from the first-class smoking room, a window frame from the Verandah Cafe and an unopened bottle of champagne with a 1900 vintage. In addition, the exhibit features a full-scale re-creation of the Grand Staircase as well as a newly expanded outer Promenade Deck, complete with the frigid temperatures felt on that fateful April night.

Have a lovely time in Las Vegas!

  • keep your money_see free shows, eat hardy, take a huge crap and leave. and it can stay in vegas..

  • The drive may take 6-8 hours depening on your driving and what time you are doing the trip. Ask your family what their intrests are. If your 18 and 14 year olds have taken French in school try the Paris, if Italian, the Venetian. There are exhibits in a lot of the Vegas Strip Hotels, such as the _Body Human_ as well as the _Titanic_. I would check on _Google_ to make sure that exhibit was still being shown in your time frame. Hoover Dam, The Red Rock Canyon, Upper Grand Canyon are just an hour out of town. Circus Circus, has rides and other attractions, as well as Excallibur. The New York, New York, has a great roller coaster, if you are into coasters, but there are other things like the M_M candy store, or the Harley - Davidson store that have unique things on display. There are the historical site like the _Old Morman Fort_ and if you_re military some of the planes on display at Nellis AFB, next to the _Red Flag_ Complex. Ethel M Candy has a tour of their factory in Henderson, Nv. Lots to do, without hitting the tables and with your family. Las Vegas has worked hard to make themselves _Family Friendly._ Hope that you enjoy and all the Best.

  • dinner, movie, shopping, walk around town.

  • I would recommend going to a casino.

  • Not sure you can do all this in one day. Las Vegas is a 5 hour drive from Anaheim besides Vegas is beautiful at night. With that said,

  • What is the best route to take from Kailua to the North Shore?|140152

I will be staying in Kailua and was wondering if it would be better to take 83 or to drive up the middle of the island to the North Shore. I really want to stop in Haleiwa and Waimea Bay Beach Park. Also, how long would the trip take and what day or time is better to avoid traffic? Thanks!

  • Yes, you want to take route 83 (even though there are different routes for the same stretch of road, we just call it Kam Highway).

Anyway, it_s a two way street once you get into Kahaluu from Kailua, so you just follow the road and after about an hour or so you_ll see that famous Haleiwa sign.

You_ll be going against traffic during the morning, so morning is best. But once you get into Haleiwa it may be a bit slow.

  • yes! go around the island from Kailua to Wiamanalo, Kaneohe, Kaaawa, Laie, Kahuku to Waimea then on to Haleiwa.... about 1 hour ride along the shore. nice

  • hop on Kamehameha Hwy. it will take you all the way down. about 45 mins or so.
