What should first time visitors to Sedona AZ do?|164713

We are new to the Phoenix area and want to go to Sedona- we are outdoor people :) - BUT my husband just had surgery on his arm and is limited on the physical activities. We also have a dog that would enjoy the ride. Any suggestions?

  • Take a ride up Oak Creek Canyon Rd (89A) To flagstaff. If you want to hike with the dog if you don_t mind him on a leash go to Red Rock State Park. That will be on 89A heading to Cottonwood from Sedona. If you want the dog to run any of the forest roads would be nice.

Now for you and your Husband
    I_d take a Jeep Ride
then If you like to look at beautiful Scenery go to Clarkdale its just outside of Cottonwood and take the Verde Train Ride. In my book it is way better then the Grand Canyon.

Then in Cottonwood off of Main Street on 10th Street is the BlazinM Ranch. They have a great dinner show that isn_t to expensive.

You can get info about the train ride and the blazinM when your in Sedona at any of the tourist booths.

Anyone that I know coming to my neck of the wood those are the places that I recommend

  • Oak Creek Canyon is very scenic and has many of the unique red rock formations, like Coffee Pot Rock, and many scenic drives and lookouts. They have some short hiking trails, too. There_s plenty of birdwatching to do at Oak Creek Canyon. More Sedona things to do: You can go on a vortex tour. Vortexes are enhanced energy locations, and they are fun and interesting places to visit. There are many such sites in Sedona. There are many places to shop in Sedona, such as Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Center, as well as many small shops. They are into crystals and Indian artwork and jewelry in Sedona. There are also some good trolley and jeep tours in Sedona. I recommend Pink Jeep Tours if you want a good, informative, and fun jeep tour.

Also, there are plenty of good massage therapists in Sedona. The massages are very relaxing. They are great for sore feet, too.

  • Basically just drive. We drove thru Sedona taking pictures from the car or pull offs and then headed up to Flagstaff for dinner and then back to Phoenix.

  • You guys could hike, but your husband doesn_t seem up to it. There are also the little shops, those are always fun :)
  • Where is the best place to get discount FL theme park tickets?|163646

Where is the best place online (or in person) to get cheap/discounted Disney and Universal Studios theme park tickets for Florida on short notice?

  • You best bet for Universal would be to buy them on-line and pick them up at the gate if that is an option. Often times there are discounts when purchasing them on-line.

As for Disney, you are not likely to find significantly discounted tickets. Disney does not reduce their ticket prices, only their hotels fluctuate with the seasons. You might be able to get slightly reduced tickets from a travel agent or AAA, but use caution if you find any other site offering _discount_ tickets. Tickets expire after 14 days from their first use. So, you don_t want to get tricked into buying someone_s _unused_ days, because by the time you get them and get to the park they may be expired. You also run the risk of getting caught with tickets that aren_t yours. When you insert your tickets into the machine, you have to stick two fingers in as well for a finger scan. If it pops up the tickets aren_t yours you risk being turned away.

  • Here is an interesting article to get discount theme park tickets:

  • Well the cheapest place to get tickets is online. They would have to deliver them though so that_s not the best way for you. Do you live in Orlando? If you do, you can go to places on the side of the road. There are many on the 192 or on International Drive. Also you can get tickets from Wal-Mart now. The cheapest website that I have found is the one below. If you want to visit lots of theme parks I would recommend the Orlando Flexi-Ticket because you get entry to both Universal parks, Sea World, Aquatica and Wet _n Wild. Also you would need at least 5 days in Disney one day for each park and then maybe a waterpark. Blizzard Beach is alot better than Typhoon Lagoon. Hope you have a good time! Orlando is amazing!
