What is the safest area in Orlando to live in?|100138

My wife and I are moving to Orlando and we are trying to find something that will be a reasonable drive to Sea World and the airport. I just want to make sure we are in a safe area. Any apartment sugestions would also be nice!

  • Look in the Lake Nona area. It is soon to be the home of the new medical school and is a nice area. A little further is Winter Park, by far the best place in the Orlando metro area.

  • Metrowest and Dr phillips are nice areas.

Stay away from anything with Pine Hills or Orange Blossom Trail in the address!

  • Well there is not a single place on earth that is safe but you may want to consider the following areas
    Metro West
    Williamsburg
    Lake Buena Vista
    Dr. Philip_s

  • I want to second that Dr Phillips area. Looked really nice the last time i was there.

  • Umm try Windermere, Winter Park, Dr. Phillips, and also try Celebration.

  • Dr. Phillips isn_t bad, but it_s real close to bad areas, so just check it out closely. Stay away from Metro West! Used to be nice, but now it_s quickly on its way to becoming a toilet. Kissimmee has some good areas too, and Celebration is probably a real good bet for you.
  • What sorts of interesting things are there to do in Alabaster, Alabama?|112950

It should interest girls in 8th and 9th grade. They are a girl scout troop taking a trip and they were looking to go to Alamaba.

  • Let_s see...Oak Mountain State Park.

In Birmingham, the Sloss Furnaces, the Civil Rights Museum, the Birmingham Art Museum, etc. etc.

In Calera, the Heart of Dixie Railroad Museum.

In Montgomery, the Alabama Shakespeare Festival.

Try canoeing on the Cahaba River. I think several people offer that.

Lots of stuff, really, if you look hard enough.
  • Is it fun and safe to take the Amtrak from Washinton to Souther Cali?|103400

I was wondering because I heard that trees fall and the Amtrak has lots of accidents? I always hear about them having problems. Also they don_t have pics of their cabins on their web site just those cartoon drawings of them so I don_t know if they are comfortable for long trips or not? I wish we had better trains in this country like they do in Europe.

  • Yes, it is safe. I know Amtrak gets a lot of bad publicity, but the reality is that driving is just as dangerous. I wouldn_t worry about safety.

The only thing is that Washington to Southern California is a fairly long trip, I think like 20 hours. But it_s very scenic and nice.
  • Where is the best place to dance for older crowds in Phoenix?|102919

I like to go to clubs with the older set 30s 40s and 50s and I am going to be there on vacation with a friend soon and we thought it would be fun to go out dancing somewhere. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

  • Try clubs and bar scenes in North Scottsdale and in the Surprise areas. The people that live in those areas tend to be more te 30s/40s/50s crowd. I would avoid Downtown PHX, that_s where my age group hangs and we_re bloody insane, lol. The Amsterdam downtown tends to be a free-for-all though. It_s nice. There are people from all age groups. I go there with friends and have seen people clubbing with their parents and a couple that went with grandparents even. It_s a fun atmosphere and they don_t allow for all the _dirty_ stuff that happens in the younger clubs.

  • Try Tom Ryans on friday or saturday nights if you like country in chandler cheap drinks no cover

    www.myspace.com/tomryanslounge

  • Mesa has some blues and oldies.
Maybe Snotsdale or Tempe I like the square but it might not have old timer stuff.
  • I want to travel across America for my gap year. Is there an agency that would be helpful?|128117

I want to travel across route 66 for two months. I was wondering if its possible to get a package including flights and car hire. Most I have found are only two weeks.

  • I did suntrek tour and loved it-suntrek.com
    I know also about trekamrica.com
