What ever happened to the Summit Resort on Tannersville, Pennsylvania?|111711

My wife and I went there for our honeymoon but I_m unable to find any information about it on the Web.

  • I think it_s still there.I_ll check next time I go by there.A lot of those places closed or sold out to builders to tear down and build townhouses or small community villages.I am going thru there this sat.If I see it I will write some more.Good Luck!

  • Hi, I didn_t make it there over the weekend.(I fell and broke my foot) but will be going there next week.I_ll let you know soon.Hopefully I can still add to this.Sorry.

  • I think the Summit Resort is now the Ramada. You could also Google the Summit Resort in Tannersville PA
  • What exactly will the new Harry Potter area at Islands of Adventure take over?|121930

Will the rides like Dueling Dragons and Flying Unicorn stay the same or will it be changed into Harry Potter? In my opinion, I don_t see the point in Harry Potter land, the breed is slowly dying. (I_m trying to get annual passes.) Thanks.

  • Dueling Dragons will be re themed to Dragon Challenge and the Flying Unicorn will become Flight of the Hippogriff . Also new innovative ride planned for Hogwarts Castle, no news as to what it will be like at moment. Was there a few months ago, the castle is huge, its going to be awesome, can_t wait to go.

  • I was at the park a little over a month ago. They are adding on to the park for the most part for Harry Potter. Dueling Dragons was open but they are remodeling it for the Harry Potter park. Currently most of the queue is closed off and you can see the House crests installed above the place you get on the coaster. The Flying Unicorn is also part of the area that is closed off for remodeling. Other than that it looks like everything else is new construction.
  • What are some good and inexpensive African restaurants in NY?|145903

I really want to go to a (West) African restaurant. I already like Ethiopian food but I really want to try something of the West African variety. There is a place in Harlem that looks appealing and I will check it out soon. Do you have any other inexpensive suggestions? Thanks.

  • OK, the link below is to TripAdvisor_s Restaurant Guide page for New York City, so, use the _Filter Restaurants By_ pull-down menu at the top to select the ethnicity of the cuisine you_re looking for, and then it will list dozens, sometimes hundreds, of NY restaurants that match your search, and then you won_t have to keep asking individual questions here about each of the individual types of cuisine you_re looking for.

It_s one-stop shopping, if you will...

  • There are thousands of the restaurants in the Five Boroughs of New York City. Depending on your taste, your budget and your preferred location, may I recommend the links below.

    http://www.urbanspoon.com/c/3/New-York-r
-- Urbanspoon. You can find restaurants either by price, location or cuisine.

    http://www.ny.com/dining/
-- NY.com. You can find plenty of restaurant information at this link. Everything from H_H Bagel to fine dining at Le Cirque.

    Bon appetit!

  • menupages.com is an awesome site for NY restaurants - broken down into geographical areas, prices, cuisine, features, etc... and gives summary of user ratings.
  • What kind of shops and restaurants are there in Grand Central Station?|157001

Would it be fun to spend some time there, to shop and to have lunch ?
It is such a great architectural space. What do you think?
Thank you in advance for your answer !

  • The oyster bar is the most romantic/groovy place on the planet for cocktails, or, obviously, oysters. Even if oysters not your thing, it_s a fantastic place to go. There is a cheesecake outlet called Juniors - do not leave without sampling - heaven on earth!! There are plenty of other outlets, from fast food to upmarket, so I_d say defininitely worth a lunch visit.

  • At the upper levels overlooking the main terminal you have quality restaurants. On the main levels, to the sides of the main terminal you have a couple of small shops (record store, Starbucks, banks, newspaper/magazine stores...a Rite Aid near the shuttle, Junior_s cheesecakes, the NYC Transit Authority museum, Zaro_s, Owens). On the lower level (tracks 100-116) you will find the Oyster Bar as well as some eateries (fast-food but with a New York twist such as Brother Jimmy_s (barbecue food), and many others (Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indian, etc.) No McDonalds or Burger Kings here :)

The ceiling in the main terminal.....AMAZING!

  • yess real fun with friends juniors has great food and cheesecake yummy! and there are a few little book stores and card stores and stuff plus across the street you can go to the whitney museum

  • The stores are mostly like gift shops, like small shops. They mostly have restaurants and accessory and stationary shops like Tumi and also a lot of soveniers of subways.

  • there is a SURPRISE SURPRISE a starbucks or 2 ;-)

  • It_s got some good shops on the main level, and there is a Micheal Jordan_s Steakhouse. The shops and the resteraunts are a little pricey, even for NY!
  • How much would a cab cost from South Station in Boston all the way to Boston College?|122328

I_m going to be at South Station in downtown Boston at around midnight or one in the morning on a Friday night, and I need to know how much cab fare plus tip would be from there to Boston College. I may have to get a cab if I miss the last T trains...

    Thanks :)

  • That other person is an idiot. Boston College is a long way from South Station, and you should expect to pay at least $25-30, if not more.

  • Here, try this site at
    http://www.taxifarefinder.com

It calculates/estimates the taxi fare when you type in two addresses. It also shows you the route and the duration. Very helpful.

  • About $35. Go to
    http://www.taxifarefinder.com/main.php?c
and put in South Station to Boston College.

  • Definitely not $10!!!! More like $25-40 is my guess. Boston College must be about 10 miles or so from South Station.

  • 10 bucks. Somewhere around there. It_s not that far.
