How do airballoons change direction and choose where to land?|121981

I was looking at airballoons the other day and my friends and I were wondering how do the airballoons land and choose direction?

  • Basically they cannot change directions. They are at the mercy of the wind. They will land where they are at the time the air is let out.

  • its all about the hot air generators to go up and down, and large fans to propel in the direction you want to go
  • How much water will my wife and I need for 4 days in the Dry Tortugas?|133371

My wife and I are going to vacation in the Dry Tortugas, FL. We aren_t sure how much water to take or what to take it in. Any tips?

  • At least 1 gallon per person per day, then, add a couple more just for comfort. We have gone twice to the fort at Dry Tortuga_s but didn_t camp there. We are planning to do that this coming summer. I saw the folks carrying coolers with the water jugs inside them on the boat over, it seemed a good idea, get one with wheels because it_s got to be heavy. They are cheap and plentiful in Key West, go to Albertson_s or K Mart on the other side of the island to buy your cooler and maybe the water also, or just collect some gallon jugs and fill them yourself. Our water here is sweet and pure and why in the world anybody started buying bottled water is beyond me totally.

I hope you like to swim and snorkel, that_s all there is to do there, but it is beautiful and we plan to go back. The waters were clear and warm and the fort is interesting. You can go to the top and get a really good view of everything. Please be oh, so, careful about sunburn - we see so many foreigners who we think probably died from the sunburn, or wish they would, from the pain. Besides, there is not much shade. I_d also bring a uv umbrella or two and some clothing with u v protection, long sleeves and hats.
WE just bought some of the u v stuff at Wallmart that was a great price, half of what it was in Key West at the docks. Lots and lots of sun block. I can_t wait till we go back to camp this summer ourselves and we live right here in Miami.

  • The basic rule of thumb is one gallon of water per person per day. This rule is for consumption only and does not include any water you may need for bathing or rinsing. Assuming you are camping, you will also need some water to rinse your cookware and dishes with. Here_s an old sailor trick: For your dish soap, buy Joy Ultra-Concentrated. Joy is unique as it is one of the only soaps that will still lather when used with seawater. You can do your dishes, and then only have to rinse them off with a tiny bit of fresh water. When fresh water is tight, sailors use Joy/sea water for bathing themselves, and then they just rinse off with a small amount of fresh water. For carrying the water, I_ve included a link for 6 gallon jerry cans/water jugs. 2 of these full would be more than enough for your 4 days, especially is you are conservative for the first few days.

  • Well I_m not sure but I found a number for the National Park and I bet you could ask them

    Hope it works.

  • Definitely 3buckets of water. It will be more than 30 litres in 4 days.
  • How much would a hearty bought lunch in new york city and washington cost on the average?|156465

I don_t know how much money to prepare for a trip there. In US dollars please.

  • It depends on whether you get your lunch from a deli ($5-10) and eat outside or go to sit down somewhere. Sitting in a diner or restaurant will generally cost more ($20+).
